It is situated at the confluence of the rivers Amblève and Ourthe. The municipality consists of the following districts: Comblain-au-Pont and Poulseur.

Esneux (French pronunciation: ​[ɛsnø]; Walloon: Esneu) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On 1 January 2006 Esneux had a total population of 13,072. The total area is 34.05 km2 (13.15 sq mi) which gives a population density of 384 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Esneux and Tilff. Other villages are Méry and Hony. They are all to be found in the valley of the Ourthe river south of Liège. A railway line links the 4 villages (and then continues further south to Luxembourg). Although not popular with large numbers of international tourists, Esneux and Tilff do attract people from the local region, due to the local restaurants, the Esneux and Tilff castle, the bee-museum, and several parks. In Esneux, the largest giant sequoia of Belgium can be found.

Neupré (French pronunciation: ​[nøpʁe]; Walloon: Li Noûpré) is a wallonian municipality of Belgium located in the province of Liège. On January 1, 2006, Neupré had a total population of 9,798. The total area is 31.69 km² which gives a population density of 309 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Éhein, Neuville-en-Condroz, Plainevaux, and Rotheux-Rimière. The name of Neupré is coined on the first letters of the districts : NEUville, Plainevaux, Rotheux and Éhein. On the southeast edge of Neupré lies the Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, the resting place of over 5,000 American soldiers who died in Northern Europe during World War II.

The Battle of Amblève took place in 716 near Amel. The mayor of the palace of Austrasia, Charles Martel, defeated his Neustrian and Frisian rivals who were led by King Chilperic II, his mayor Ragenfrid, and Redbad, King of the Frisians. It was the first major victory of Martel in a long career of victories. In this battle Martel began demonstrating the military genius which would mark the remainder of his life.

Rouvreux (Walloon: Rovreu) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Sprimont, located in the province of Liège, Belgium. It is named after the hamlet at its centre. It was a municipality of its own from its creation on 21 May 1886 (by the merger of parts of the municipalities of Aywaille and Sprimont) until the merger of municipalities in 1977.

Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial is a Second World War American military war grave cemetery, located in the village of Neuville-en-Condroz, near the southeast edge of Neupré, some 20 km (12 mi) south-west of Liège in Belgium. The cemetery, dedicated in 1960, contains 5,329 American war dead and covers 90.5 acres (36.6 ha). It is one of three American war cemeteries in Belgium, the other two being at Flanders Field and Henri-Chapelle and is administered by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC).

Aywaille (French pronunciation: ​[ɛwaj]; Walloon: Aiwêye) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On 1 January 2012, Aywaille had a total population of 11,697. The total area is 80.04 km² which gives a population density of 146 inhabitants per km². Its area consists of 45.7% of wooded and wild country, 29.9% of agricultural areas and 24.4% of built-up areas.The inhabitants of Aywaille are called the "Aqualiens", from the Latin version of Aywaille "Aqualia loca", which means "area full of water" or "muddy land".The municipality consists of the following districts: Aywaille, Ernonheid, Harzé, and Sougné-Remouchamps. They include many villages as Aywaille, Awan, Chambralles, Deigné, Ernonheid, Paradis, Houssonloge, Pouhon, Harzé, Havelange, Kin, Stoqueu, Martinrive, Nonceveux, Playe, Quarreux, Sedoz, Septroux, Sougné, Remouchamps, Ville-au-Bois.
