Mogappair (also known as Dr. J. J. Nagar) is a residential neighborhood in north-western Chennai, India. It is located west of the Jawaharlal Nehru Road (Inner Ring Road) and is part of the Ambattur zone (7) of the Greater Chennai Corporation. There are industrial estates to the north and west, namely, Padi and Ambattur. The abundance of highly reputed schools, specialized hospitals and the recent influx of IT offices in the industrial estates in and around it have catapulted Mogappair into a strategic location for business. The Mangal Lake in the North Western part of Mogappair is the largest park in this region. A few decades ago, Mogappair was a small village, a part of which is still intact in the south-western part of Mogappair. Mogappair is divided into two parts, namely, Mogappair East and Mogappair West.

Nolambur is the neighbourhood in the western part of Chennai. It is near to the Poonamallee High Road near Maduravoyal and Mogappair West. Road access from the north is from Mogappair and Ambattur Industrial Estate. Nolambur is located adjacent to Maduravoyal and Nerkundram, which are situated at its south boundaries. Bharathi Salai and its continuation Nolumbur Phase II road are 70 ft wide. They form the primary route of travelling for the residents nearby. The Inner ring road runs in the western fringes of Nolambur making it a place for rapid connectivity from all part of Chennai City. A few buses also ply through this area.Important Residential units include Brigade Xanadu, S and P Garden, Jains Sunderbans Apartments,Fomra Tribhuvan, VGN Minerva Apartments, Akshya Pacific City, City Light Meadows, DABC's various apartments and Jains Nakshatra. As of 2022, the tallest building in the neighbourhood is the 22-storied, three-towered Casagrand Crescendo apartment buildings.

Mangal aeri, or Mangal lake, is a rain-fed reservoir in the neighbourhood of Mugappair in Chennai, India.

Maduravoyal also has a name as "ettam kal" (8th mile), so it could be famous in British Period too, it is exactly 12.87 kilometres (8.00 mi) from Chennai Harbour, and Maduravoyal located 3 km from the west of Koyambedu area which is a major hub of activity in Chennai City. Koyambedu Metro station is a Metro railway station on the Line 2 of the Chennai Metro, which is one terminal of the current open metro line from St Thomas Mount. The station is among the elevated stations along corridor II of the Chennai Metro, Chennai Central–St. Thomas Mount stretch. The station will serve the neighbourhoods of Koyambedu, Koyambedu vegetable market, and Koyambedu Private Bus Terminus.
