Claxton is a village and part of the Claxton & Sand Hutton civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. It is near the A64 road and 8 miles (13 km) north-east of York.

Flaxton was a rural district in the North Riding of Yorkshire from 1894 to 1974. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 from the part of the York Rural Sanitary District which was in the North Riding. It continued in existence until 1974 when, under the Local Government Act 1972, it was abolished, and went to form part of the Ryedale district. Some parishes have, since 1996, been part of the City of York district.

It connected the main house with the LNER Warthill Station and the village of Bossall. It replaced the earlier, shorter, 15 in (381 mm) gauge Sand Hutton Miniature Railway that was built in 1914.

Flaxton railway station was a railway station on the York to Scarborough Line serving the village of Flaxton, North Yorkshire, England. It was opened to traffic on 7 July 1845 along with all the other stations on the line. Excluding York it was the seventh busiest station on the line in terms of passenger numbers recording an annual average of 13,502 passengers between 1902 and 1914. Thereafter the passenger numbers varied with totals dropping by 60% to 8,100 in 1926.The station and all other intermediate stations on the line (barring Malton and Seamer) closed to passengers in September 1930. The closures allowed the LNER to speed up holiday traffic to Scarborough, but the station remained open for goods traffic until August 1964.The station's level crossing is still extant. A risk assessment carried out in 2012 stated that it carried 34 trains per day with 1,485 vehicles and 297 pedestrians/cyclists using the crossing per day.

Warthill railway station was a station on the York to Beverley Line. It opened as Stockton station in 1847–8, was renamed to Stockton Forest (later Stockton-on-the-Forest) in 1867; in 1872 it became Warthill station. The station closed in 1959.

Holtby railway station was a station on the York to Beverley Line in North Yorkshire, England. It opened as Gate Helmsley in 1848 and was renamed Holtby in 1872. Passenger services ended in 1939 and goods services in 1951.

Thornton-le-Clay is a village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England. It is about 8 miles (13 km) north-east of York.

Warthill is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, six miles north-east of York and 14 miles south-west of Malton. The village has one public house, The Agar Arms, and a Church of England primary school (established in 1863), with about forty pupils. Warthill is home to St Mary's Church, which was built in the 19th century and is a good example of Victorian Gothic architecture. Brockfield Hall, a Georgian house completed in 1807, is situated nearby. It was built for Benjamin Agar by Peter Atkinson senior who worked in the office of John Carr (architect). Brockfield has an oval entry hall with cantilevered staircase. The house displays fine art and furniture, and mementos associated with the Fitzalan Howard family. There is also an unusual collection of glass walking sticks. The house is rectangular in plan, with a hipped slate roof. The most immediately noticeable feature is a large Venetian window on the first floor which is set in a semi-circular arch of stone panels. Below is an ironwork balcony with stands above the entry porch. The interior serves partly as a display space for paintings by the Staithes group of artists. The hall is now designated as a Grade II* listed building.The village was part of the Ryedale district between 1974 and 2023. It is now administered by North Yorkshire Council.
