RAF Fersfield

Boyland Common is a place in the English county of Norfolk. It lies on the border of Fersfield and Shelfanger parishes. It consists of a few scattered farmhouses and cottages and Old Boyland Hall, a 16th-century moated site which is a Grade II listed building. Boyland Common is named after Lord Robert Boyland. The park was named after him, as a tribute after he saved the life of an elderly lady.

Fersfield is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Bressingham, in the South Norfolk district, in the county of Norfolk, England. The village is located 3.8 miles (6.1 km) north-west of Diss and 19 miles (31 km) south-west of Norwich. It was the home parish of Francis Blomefield, whose History of Norfolk documents the history of much of South Norfolk. In 1931 the parish had a population of 194. On 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Bressingham.

Banham is an English village and civil parish in the county of Norfolk, about 7 miles (11 km) north of Diss, 12 miles (19 km) east of Thetford and 20 miles (32 km) south-west of Norwich. It is home to Banham Zoo, a private collection open to the public for more than 40 years, which houses over 2000 animals. The Church of England parish church, dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, is a Grade I listed building. The name of the village derives from "Bean homestead/village", or perhaps "hemmed-in land where beans grow".

St Mary the Virgin Church, Banham is a Grade I listed Church of England parish church in Banham, Norfolk. The basic material of the building is the natural flint of the area, and as is usual with Norfolk churches, white freestone was sparingly used for windows and framing because it had to be brought laboriously from quarries in Northamptonshire.

Banham Zoological Gardens is a 50-acre (20 ha) zoo in Banham, Norfolk, England. The zoo, which in 2024 was reported to be a home to more than 2,000 animals, opened to the public in 1968, became a charity in 2013, and has since been often awarded the prize of Norfolk's Top Attraction, by numerous different organisations, with an annual visitor attendance of in excess of 200,000 people. It is part of the Zoological Society of East Anglia, a registered charity which also owns Africa Alive Zoological Reserve near Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Shelfanger is a village situated about 3 miles from the town of Diss in Norfolk, England. There is a church and a village hall in the village. It covers an area of 6.99 km2 (2.70 sq mi) and had a population of 362 in 150 households at the 2001 census, the population increasing to 378 at the 2011 census. In years gone by there was a school, a post office, a pub, three shops, a blacksmiths and a garage run by a family of brothers called Bowman. These have all now been closed down. Josh Kirby (died 2001), an artist lived there.

Winfarthing is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is located 6 km (4 mi) north of the town of Diss, 20 km (12 mi) east of the town of Thetford, and 30 km (19 mi) south of the city of Norwich. The gold and garnet Anglo Saxon Winfarthing pendant was found nearby in 2014. The civil parish has an area of 10.8 km2 (4.2 sq mi) and in the 2001 census had a population of 403 in 162 households, the population increasing to 503 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of South Norfolk. The village is a prime example of a linear village, being strung out along the B1077 road between Diss and Attleborough for around 2 km (1+1⁄4 mi). It is home to the Fighting Cocks public house, All Saints Church of England Primary School and the grade I listed St Mary's church. Until the early 1990s it had a small Royal Mail Post Office and shop. There is still a red post box at the site of the old Post Office with regular collections. Farming is the primary local business, with several dairy, arable and pig farms in the surrounding area. Henry VIII is known to have visited the area. There was a large oak tree in the village at that time that was standing until the late 20th century.

Shelfanger Meadows is a 10.3-hectare (25-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Diss in Norfolk. This site in the valley of a tributary of the River Waveney is described by Natural England as "one of the most important areas of unimproved grassland in Norfolk". It has been traditionally managed by a hay cut followed by grazing for hundreds of years, and as a result its flora is rich, including uncommon species. There are also areas where springs make the grassland marshy. The site is private land with no public access.

Old Buckenham Castle and Buckenham Castle are two castles adjacent respectively to the villages of Old Buckenham and New Buckenham, Norfolk, England.

New Buckenham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The parish covers an area of 1.73 km2 (0.67 sq mi) and had a population of 468 in 197 households at the 2001 census, falling marginally to a population of 460 in 209 households at the 2011 census. The small parish includes only the village, New Buckenham Common and some outlying houses and farmland. It is in the local government district of Breckland. A nucleated village, New Buckenham has a medieval grid plan encompassing a green that originally served as the market place. At the green there is a historic market house, a grade II-star listed building which features a whipping post, and commonly called the Market Cross. The village entirely comprises a conservation area together with the adjacent Buckenham Castle, which lies in the neighbouring parish of Old Buckenham.

Old Buckenham Hall is a cricket ground in Old Buckenham, near Attleborough, Norfolk.

The Corn Hall is a commercial building in St Nicholas Street, Diss, Norfolk, England. The structure, which is now used as an arts centre, is a Grade II listed building.
