Riegelsberg (German pronunciation: [ˈʁiːɡl̩sbɛʁk]) is a municipality in the District of Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany. It is situated approximately 9 km northwest of Saarbrücken.

Schœneck (French pronunciation: ​[ʃœnɛk]; German: Schöneck) is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. It is located in the Warndt Basin, and is a border town with Germany, wedged between Stiring-Wendel and Saarbrücken.

Köllerbach is a river of Saarland, Germany. It flows into the Saar in Völklingen.

Malstatt-Burbach joined the former Saarbrücken (now called Alt-Saarbrücken) and Sankt Johann to form the present city of Saarbrücken in 1909. Malstatt received municipal rights in 1321. These, however, were afterwards resigned to the newer town of Saarbrücken, and in 1818 Malstatt and Burbach were two small villages with a joint population of only about 800. About the middle of the century the population began to increase rapidly, in consequence of the development of the mining industry of the district and the extension of the railway system, and in 1874 the two villages were united to form a town. In 1900, Malstatt-Burbach had a population of 31,195. At the time, it belonged to the district of Saarbrücken, the southernmost district of Prussia's Rhine Province. Malstatt-Burbach was an industrial town, described by the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica as "little more than a long and narrow row of manufactories and workmen's houses". The largest factories were engaged in the production of iron, steel and cement. There was a large wharf on the river for the export of coal. The Burbach ironworks, which had employed more than 23,000 people in 1975, was closed in 1988, temporarily causing an unemployment rate of 23%.

The Völklingen Ironworks (German: Völklinger Hütte) is a former blast-furnace complex located in the German town of Völklingen, Saarland. Pig iron production occurred at the site from 1882 through 1986. As one of the only intact ironworks surviving from the 19th and early-20th centuries in Europe and North America, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 because of its exceptional preservation and its testimony to ferrous metallurgy and the Industrial Revolution. In addition, the site is an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH).

Völklingen station is the main railway station in the city of Völklingen in the German state of Saarland. It is now only served by passenger trains on the Saar line (German: Saarstrecke) between Trier and Saarbrücken.

Petite-Rosselle (French pronunciation: ​[pətit ʁɔsɛl]; German: Kleinrosseln; Palatine German: Klänrossle) is a commune in the Moselle department of the Grand Est region in north-eastern France. The commune is separated from neighbouring Großrosseln to its west by the small river Rossel, which forms the border between France and Germany. It has 6,322 inhabitants (2018).
