Riegelsberg (German pronunciation: [ˈʁiːɡl̩sbɛʁk]) is a municipality in the District of Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany. It is situated approximately 9 km northwest of Saarbrücken.

Püttlingen (pronounced [ˈpʏt.lɪŋ.ən] ) is a town in Saarland, Germany, 10 km northwest of Saarbrücken.

The Luisenthal Mine was a coal mine near Völklingen. The mine was known as the site of the largest mine accident in the history of the German Federal Republic, when 299 miners died on 7 February 1962.

The Heusweiler transmitter was a facility for medium wave broadcasting north of Heusweiler, Germany. It originally went into service on 23 December 1935. On 19 June 1946 transmitter Heusweiler went in service again. It was used by Saarländischen Rundfunk and with 1200 kW the most powerful medium wave transmitter in the ARD syndicat. The transmitters were de-funct in 2015.

Malstatt-Burbach joined the former Saarbrücken (now called Alt-Saarbrücken) and Sankt Johann to form the present city of Saarbrücken in 1909. Malstatt received municipal rights in 1321. These, however, were afterwards resigned to the newer town of Saarbrücken, and in 1818 Malstatt and Burbach were two small villages with a joint population of only about 800. About the middle of the century the population began to increase rapidly, in consequence of the development of the mining industry of the district and the extension of the railway system, and in 1874 the two villages were united to form a town. In 1900, Malstatt-Burbach had a population of 31,195. At the time, it belonged to the district of Saarbrücken, the southernmost district of Prussia's Rhine Province. Malstatt-Burbach was an industrial town, described by the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica as "little more than a long and narrow row of manufactories and workmen's houses". The largest factories were engaged in the production of iron, steel and cement. There was a large wharf on the river for the export of coal. The Burbach ironworks, which had employed more than 23,000 people in 1975, was closed in 1988, temporarily causing an unemployment rate of 23%.

Heusweiler (German pronunciation: [hɔɪ̯sˈvaɪ̯lɐ]; Saarlandic: Heiswiller; older French: Hoysviller) is a municipality in the District of Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany. It is situated approximately 13 km north of Saarbrücken. As of 2019, it has 18,062 inhabitants. Heusweiler is the location of a high power medium wave transmitter, the transmitter Heusweiler.

Schœneck (French pronunciation: ​[ʃœnɛk]; German: Schöneck) is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. It is located in the Warndt Basin, and is a border town with Germany, wedged between Stiring-Wendel and Saarbrücken.

Köllerbach is a river of Saarland, Germany. It flows into the Saar in Völklingen.

Ludwigsparkstadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Saarbrücken, Germany. The stadium was built in 1953 and once held 35,303 people. After renovation, which lasted from 2016 to 2021 and cost € 46.5M, the capacity has been reduced to around 16,000 seats.It is currently used mostly for football matches and concerts. It served as the home ground for the Saarland national football team, which existed 1950–56, during the era of the Saar Protectorate.

Saarlandhalle is a 5,500-capacity multi-purpose indoor arena located in Saarbrücken, Germany. Originally opened in 1967 with funds from Saarland Sporttoto for sports competitions, it was later converted to multi-purpose indoor arena. The Ludwigsparkstadion is located near the hall. Saarlandhalle is also the first indoor arena in (West) Germany to be organized as a limited liability company.It has hosted concerts by many famous artists, including A-ha, AC/DC, Chris de Burgh, Depeche Mode, Bob Dylan, Boney M., Metallica, Pink Floyd, Sting and Uriah Heep, among others. These days larger productions refrain from visiting it, as technical requirements have generally extended to a degree which the Saarlandhalle cannot meet any longer with its given specs. For example, since the introduction of the show's new stage set in 2001, the hall is too small to host Europe's largest televised show, Wetten, dass..?.The hall hosts the annual Hylo Open badminton tournament, and hosted the 1996 and 1997 German Open. In 2017 it hosted the 2017 German Darts Open.

Reisbach is a small town, belonging to the district of Saarlouis in the Bundesland Saarland. The village was formed on April 1, 1937, when the two townships of Reisweiler and Labach were joint together as "Reisbach". Reisweiler was first mentioned as "Radisville" in 1154. The Germanic name "Radi" means "father of the town council", which, together with the "-ville" suffix meaning "farmland", yields the meaning of "Reisweiler" as "Radi's Farmland". The first written documentation about Labach stems from the 13th century, when it was known under the name "Loupach" or "Loupbach". The name is composed from "Loup" meaning "foliage" (German "Laub") and "Bach" meaning "creek". The name of the consolidated village thus means "Radi's Creek". Since January 1, 1974, Reisbach has formed the municipality of Saarwellingen, together with Saarwellingen proper and Schwarzenholz with a combined 14,000 inhabitants.

Völklingen station is the main railway station in the city of Völklingen in the German state of Saarland. It is now only served by passenger trains on the Saar line (German: Saarstrecke) between Trier and Saarbrücken.
