The Lithuanian Space Association (LSA; Lithuanian: Lietuvos kosmoso asociacija, LKA) is a space organisation based in Vilnius, Lithuania. It is one of the partners that created the first two Lithuanian satellites.

The Lithuanian Academy of Sciences or LMA (Lithuanian: Lietuvos mokslų akademija, Latin: Academia Scientiarum Lithuaniae) is a state-funded independent organization in Lithuania dedicated for science and research. Its mission is to mobilize prominent scientists and initiate activities that would strengthen the welfare of Lithuania and contribute to the scientific, social, cultural and economic development of the country.

Church of St. George (Lithuanian: Šv. Jurgio bažnyčia) is a Roman Catholic church in the Vilnius Old Town which was completed and consecrated in 1765. The church and nearby monastery complex was built by the Radziwiłł family and served as family's mausoleum. The church has an 18th-century organ.

Church of the Holy Cross (Lithuanian: Šv. Kryžiaus bažnyčia) is a Roman Catholic church in the Vilnius Old Town. Initially, in 1543 a chapel was built which was later expanded and rebuilt. The current towers were built in 1725. Following the fire in 1737 the church was reconstructed and a late baroque interior was installed.A former monastery complex of the Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God is nearby the church.The church is famous for a spring with miraculous water in its basement (people believe that this water cures eye diseases) and a painting of Mary, mother of Jesus, which bestows favors.

Lithuania District (German: Verwaltungsbezirk Litauen) was an administrative division of German-controlled territory of Ober-Ost during World War I. It was bordered by the Bialystok-Grodno District to the south and the Courland District to the north.

The Vilna Governorate was a governorate (guberniya) of the Northwestern Krai of the Russian Empire. In 1897, the governorate covered the area of 41,907.9 square kilometres (16,180.7 sq mi) and a population of 1,591,207 inhabitants. The governorate was defined by the Minsk Governorate to the south, the Grodno Governorate to the southwest, the Suwałki Governorate to the west, the Kovno and Courland Governorates to the north, and the Vitebsk Governorate to the east. The administrative centre was located in the city of Vilna (which is modern-day Vilnius). The city also served as the administrative centre of the Vilna Governorate-General, which existed until 1912. The area roughly corresponded to the Vilnius Region, which was later occupied by Germany, Bolsheviks, and Poland.

The Belarusian Gymnasium of Vilnia (Belarusian: Віленская беларуская гімназія) was an important Belarusian school in Vilnius. Many notable Belarusian cultural figures of the 20th century graduated from the school.

Kaziuko mugė or Saint Casimir's Fair is a large annual folk arts and crafts fair in Vilnius, Lithuania, dating to the beginning of the 17th century. The fair is traditionally held in city's markets and streets on the Sunday nearest to 4 March (Feast of St. Casimir), the anniversary of Saint Casimir's death. In Lithuanian, Kaziukas is a diminutive of Casimir. Today, Saint Casimir's fair also features music, dance, theater performances; it attracts tens of thousands of visitors and many craftsmen from across Lithuania as well as from neighbouring countries such as Latvia, Russia, and Poland. In recent years, the fair has expanded into other cities in Lithuania, Belarus, Poland.

Vilnius ( VIL-nee-əs, Lithuanian: [ˈvʲɪlʲnʲʊs] ; previously known in English as Vilna, see other names) is the capital and largest city located in Lithuania. As of January 2024, Vilnius' estimated population was 602,430. The Vilnius urban area extends beyond the city limits and has an estimated population of 718,507 in 2020.Vilnius is notable for the architecture of its Old Town, considered one of the largest and best-preserved old towns of Europe. Vilnius was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. The architectural style known as Vilnian Baroque is named after the city, which is the easternmost Baroque city and the largest north of the Alps.The city was noted for its multicultural population already in the time of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, with contemporary sources comparing it to Babylon. Before World War II and the Holocaust, Vilnius was one of the most important Jewish centers in Europe. Its Jewish influence has led to its nickname "the Jerusalem of Lithuania". Napoleon called it "the Jerusalem of the North" as he was passing through in 1812. In 2009, Vilnius was the European Capital of Culture, together with Linz in Austria. In 2021, Vilnius was named one of the 25 fDi's Global Cities of the Future. Vilnius is considered one of the major world financial centres, placing 76th globally and 29th in Europe, according to the Global Financial Centres Index. In 2023, Vilnius hosted the 2023 NATO Summit. Vilnius is a member of Eurocities and the Union of Capitals of the European Union (UCEU).

The de Choiseul (de Reuss) Palace (Lithuanian: Šuazelių (de Reusų) rūmai; Polish: pałac de Choiseulów (de Reussów)) is a building in Simonas Daukantas square, Vilnius Old Town, Lithuania. Currently it is used as dwellings and "Copy1" company subsidiary.

The Cathedral of St. Ignatius of Loyola (Lithuanian: Šv. Ignoto katedra) also called Church of St. Ignatius (Šv. Ignoto bažnyčia) is a religious building of the Roman Catholic Church that serves as the cathedral of the Military Ordinariate of Lithuania. It is located in the capital, Vilnius.

Daukantas Square in Vilnius, Lithuania is located in the Old Town, in front of the Presidential Palace. Its name commemorates a progenitor of the 19th-century Lithuanian national revival, Simonas Daukantas. In the late 19th century it had a monument of Mikhail Nikolayevich Muravyov-Vilensky. The square hosts state ceremonies. It has also been the site of demonstrations and rallies.
