Edward Kelley School (formerly Brighton School) in Sacramento County, California is a building first constructed sometime in the 1850s. The school has been in a district since 1858. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.The school was originally constructed as a single classroom facility, with a small library, and two foyers. The classroom was later partitioned into three separate rooms to accommodate the growing needs of the developing community. An additional out-building was constructed in the rear of the property, which itself also dates to the 1850s. The school building was almost completely destroyed at least twice during separate fires, once in 1874 and again in 1878. It then caught fire again in 1891, damaging a portion of the structure, and the current facade is a result of the 1891 reconstruction. There is some confusion regarding if the reconstructed work truly represents the original design of the building. A sign above the entryway indicates that the structure was built in 1869.The building was originally located several miles to the west of its current location, in a part of Sacramento, California once known as Brighton, but is now generally known as East Sacramento, near the location of California State University, Sacramento. In 1924 the school was moved to its current location in what today is known as the unincorporated community of Rosemont, California. A year later the school's name was changed from Brighton School to Edward Kelley School, in honor of the person who had donated the land on which the school now stands. Edward Kelley School is still in use today, primarily as a pre-school. It is the oldest continuously-operating schoolhouse in Sacramento County.

The station was opened on September 5, 1987, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. It is served by the Gold Line. The station is located at the intersection of Folsom Boulevard and Butterfield Way just northeast of Highway 50. From its opening through the opening of the Mather Field/Mills station September 6, 1998, this served as the eastern terminus of the original RT light rail alignment (the Watt/I-80–Downtown–Butterfield line).

The station is located just west of Tiber Drive on Folsom Boulevard, north of Highway 50.

The population was 10,802 at the 2010 census, up from 10,273 at the 2000 census. La Riviera is a primarily residential neighborhood located between the American River on the North side and Highway 50 on the southern border.

The station is located near the intersection of Starfire Drive on Folsom Boulevard, south of Highway 50.

Rio Americano High School, colloquially known as Rio, is a public high school in Arden-Arcade, California, just outside Sacramento, serving students in grades 9 through 12 as part of the San Juan Unified School District. Rio Americano students come from the surrounding areas of Arden Park, Arden Oaks, Sierra Oaks, Fair Oaks, Carmichael, Gold River, and to a much lesser extent, the La Sierra community. In recent years, more students have been transferring from other districts and areas, partly due to the shift of Sacramento High School to a charter school. Rio's two rival schools are Jesuit High School and El Camino Fundamental High School because of the schools' close proximity. As of the 2019–20 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,953 students. Cliff Kelly is the principal. Christopher Hauger, Jennifer Dalton and Robert Kerr are the vice principals.

Mather Air Force Base (Mather AFB) was a United States Air Force Base, which was closed in 1993 pursuant to a post-Cold War BRAC decision. It was located 12 miles (19 km) east of Sacramento, on the south side of U.S. Route 50 in Sacramento County, California. Mather Field was one of 32 Air Service training camps established after the United States entry into World War I in April 1917.The Mather AFB land has various post-military uses including Sacramento Mather Airport, established in 1995. Some of the land was included in the City of Rancho Cordova, when it was incorporated in 2003.

Jesuit High School of Sacramento is a private Catholic high school run by the USA West Province of the Society of Jesus in the Sacramento suburb of Arden-Arcade, California. It was founded by the Jesuits in 1963 and enrolls about 1,000 young men from throughout greater Sacramento Valley in California.
