Melissia (Greek: Μελίσσια) is a town and a suburb in the northeastern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Penteli, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 3.956 km2. Melissia is situated at the southwestern foot of the Penteli mountains, 12 km northeast of Athens city centre. It is a green residential town. It was part of the municipality of Marousi until 1946, when it became a separate community. It became a municipality in 1990. The population of Melissia was more than 22,000 at the 2011 census. It has six primary schools, two high schools (Greek "Gymnasium"), one lyceum and a modern municipal swimming-pool.

Athmonum or Athmonon (Ancient Greek: Ἄθμονον), also Athmonia (Ἀθμονία), was a deme of ancient Attica, situated on the site of the Marousi (Amarousion). The name of the modern village has been derived from Amarysia, a surname of Artemis, who was worshipped under this designation at Athmonum. An inscription found near Marousi, in which the temenos of this goddess is mentioned, puts the matter beyond dispute. Athmonum also possessed a very ancient temple of Aphrodite Urania. The inhabitants of this deme appear to have been considered clever wine-dressers.

Sismanogleio General Hospital (Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Σισμανόγλειο) in Vrilissia, Athens is one of the largest public hospitals in Greece. Its name in Katharevousa is Sismanogleion (Σισμανόγλειον). During the 2009 swine flu pandemic Seismanogleion treated the first swine flu patient in Greece.

The Spathario Shadow Theatre Museum is a museum in Maroussi, Athens, Greece. It exhibits mostly shadow puppet artifacts and it is named after prominent Greek puppet shadow artist Evgenios Spatharis. It was established in 1991 in the municipality of Maroussi and opened in 1996.

Drossinis Museum is in the center of Kifisia, a northern suburb of Athens, and it is housed in “Amaryllis” villa, where Georgios Drossinis lived in his last years and which is named after a central character of one of his earliest and most popular works. The museum was founded in 1997 with the aim to preserve and promote Drossinis’ (1859-1951) multidimensional work. Drossinis, along with Costis Palamas and Nikos Kampas co-founded the New Athenian School, the Greek literary ‘1880s Generation’, a movement which renewed Greek literature and fought for the establishment of modern Greek language ("Demotic") The museum includes three halls, which are on the first floor, while the ground floor houses the Municipal Library of Kifisia, according to Drossinis's wish.

KAT Attica General Hospital (Greek: Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Αττικής ΚΑΤ) also known as KAT Hospital, is a tertiary-level hospital in the Attica region of Greece. It is located in Kifisia, a northern suburban of Athens. It was formerly known as the "Apostolos Pavlos" Accident Hospital.

The Goulandris Museum of Natural History is a museum in Kifisia, a northeastern suburb of Athens, Greece. It was founded by Angelos Goulandris and Niki Goulandris in 1965 in order to promote interest in the natural sciences, to raise the awareness of the public, in general, and in particular to call its attention to the need to protect Greece's natural wildlife habitats and species in the danger of extinction. The museum includes large collections of insects, mammals, birds, reptiles, shells, rocks, minerals and fossils, from the rich natural wildlife of the Greek territory. The botanical collections number over 200.000 species of plants, among which there are 145 newly discovered ones, which have been recorded thanks to the museum's research. The kernel of the botanical collection was formed when it acquired the collection of Constantine Goulimis, the author of Wild Flowers of Greece that was illustrated by Niki Goulandris. In the museum's laboratories, scientific research is being carried out in the areas of ecology, botany, zoology, geology, palaeontology and biotechnology. In the exhibition rooms are presented in detail the variety and interdependence of the biocommunities and the floral, animal and geological wealth of Greece. The Goulandris Museum of Natural History also functions as a complementary educational institution for all levels of education. Its activities include further education programmes, seminars, lectures, the publication of books and other material, and itinerant exhibitions on crucial environmental issues in Greece and abroad. Its publications include a scientific journal, the Annales Musei Goulandris (1973–). The Museum is linked to international organizations and to Institutes of Higher Education. Some of the most important exhibits of the museum are the Zoology Room, the Palaeontology Room and the display of bivalve molluscs from various parts of the world. In 2010, rhizomes of Iris hellenica (found in the mountains of the Peloponnese) were given the garden of the Goulandris Natural History Museum, who had funded Dionysios Mermygkas, to study the plants of the mountains. The iris grew well vegetatively for a year, but failed to flower. Unfortunately they did not survive the following year, but they survived in Copenhagen (who also received rhizomes).

Gaia Center is a museum in Kifisia, a northeastern suburb of Athens, Greece. It is part of the Goulandris Natural History Museum, presenting the way planet Earth has been functioning for millions of years, from its geological evolution to the present, including the interventions of modern people. It includes a dome-monitor 5 metres (16 ft) in diameter and of an approximate surface of 40 square metres (430 sq ft).

Marousi (Greek: Μαρούσι), also known as Maroussi, is an Athens Metro station in Marousi, a northern suburb in Athens. The station is served by Line 1, and is 23.46 kilometres (14.58 miles) down the line from the southern terminus of Piraeus, between Nerantziotissa to the south and KAT to the north.The station is managed by STASY, and was rebuilt with step-free access as part of the renovation of Line 1 in 2004.

KAT (Greek: ΚΑΤ) is an Athens metro station in Kifissia, Athens, Greece, next to the Traumatic Recovery Center (KAT), from which it derives its name. The station is situated 24.631 km from the starting point in Piraeus. The station was opened on 27 March 1989 and was renovated in 2004. It contains two platforms.

Kifissia (Greek: Κηφισιά, Kifisia) is an Athens metro station in Kifisia, Athens, Greece. It is the northern terminus of the line 1. The station is situated at 25.655 km from the starting point in Piraeus. The station was opened on 10 August 1957 and was renovated in 2004. On the site of the current Athens Metro station, there was a station of the former Lavriou Square-Strofyli railway line at 15.500 km from Lavriou Square. It opened on 4 February 1885 and shut down on 8 August 1938.
