Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière-Est is a borough of the city of Lévis, Quebec. It was created on January 1, 2002.It corresponds to the eastern part of the former Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière Regional County Municipality. It has four districts, corresponding to former municipalities: Charny Saint-Romuald Saint-Jean-Chrysostome Sainte-Hélène-de-Breakeyville

The Levis De-Icer is a High voltage direct current (HVDC) system, aimed at de-icing multiple AC power lines in Quebec, Canada. It is the only HVDC system not used for power transmission. In the winter of 1998, Québec's power lines were toppled by icing, sometimes up to 75 mm. To prevent such a damage, a de-icing system was developed.The Levis De-Icer can use a maximum power of 250 MW; its operation voltage is ±17.4 kV. It can be used on multiple 735 kV AC power lines. When there is no icing, the Lévis De-Icer installed at Hydro-Québec's Lévis substation operates as static VAR compensator improving the stability of the AC lines.

The Beaurivage River is a tributary of the Chaudière River which in turn flows into the St. Lawrence River. It is a body of water mostly known for its annual canoe race beginning at Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage, Quebec and finishing at Saint-Gilles, Quebec.

Saint-Jean-Chrysostome is a sector within the Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière-Est borough of the city of Lévis in central Quebec, Canada south of Quebec City on the south bank of the Saint Lawrence River. It was a separate town, incorporated in 1828, but in 2002 was amalgamated into Lévis.It is a mostly suburban community, connected to Quebec City by bus (Société de transport de Lévis) via Sainte-Foy. The main high school is École secondaire l'Horizon. École secondaire l'Horizon is a French-language public secondary school located in Saint-Jean-Chrysostome, Quebec, Canada. It is located on Place Centre-ville in the downtown sector of Saint-Jean-Chrysostome and is run by the Commission scolaire des Navigateurs school board. Most of the school's students come from Saint-Jean-Chrysostome and Breakeyville, but some come from the districts of Saint-Romuald and Charny.

Charny is a district (secteur) within the Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière-Est borough of the city of Lévis, Quebec. It is located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, south of Quebec City. Formerly an independent city, Charny was merged with Lévis on January 1, 2002.

Charny station is a Via Rail station in Lévis, Quebec, Canada. It is located at 2326 rue de la Gare in the borough of Charny. It is staffed and is wheelchair-accessible. The station is served by one train per day in each direction on the Montreal–Quebec line Corridor service. The station was once a stop on the Montreal–Gaspé train until 2013, and the Ocean until 2014, when that service moved its local stop to Sainte-Foy station.

École secondaire les Etchemins (ESLE) is a French-language high school in Charny, Quebec, Canada operated by the Commission scolaire des Navigateurs school board. The principal is Caroline Marcotte. The school includes the Salle Louis-Philippe Arcand auditorium. In 2015, Yvan Girouard, a teacher at École secondaire les Etchemins, was the recipient of the Prime Minister's Awards for Teaching Excellence.

Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière was a former regional county municipality and census division in Quebec. It and Desjardins Regional County Municipality were formed from the division of Lévis County in the 1980s. It ceased to exist when most of it, along with most of Desjardins RCM, amalgamated into the expanded city of Lévis on January 1, 2002.

Saint-Rédempteur is a district within Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière-Ouest borough of the city of Lévis, Quebec. Prior to 2002, it was an independent municipality.

Chaudière Falls (French: Chutes de la Chaudière) is a 35-meter-high (115 ft) waterfall in Lévis, Quebec along the Chaudière River. It is part of the regional Parc des Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, which features a 113-metre-long (371 ft) suspension footbridge standing 23 metres over the river. There are walking and bicycle trails along the river.

On the morning of February 17, 2008, Marilyn Bergeron (born December 21, 1983) left her family's home in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, for what she said was a walk. She did not return. An automated teller machine (ATM) security camera in Loretteville recorded her attempting to withdraw money early in the afternoon; she was last seen almost five hours after leaving home at a coffee shop in Saint-Romuald. Many sightings of her have been reported since then, especially in areas of Ontario just outside Quebec, but none have been confirmed. Quebec City police (SPVQ), who continue to investigate, have theorized that Bergeron committed suicide. Her family, who has put up a reward for information leading to the resolution of the case, believes she may have instead met with foul play. Shortly before her disappearance she had moved back to Quebec City from Montreal, where she told her parents, without being specific, that something had happened there and she no longer felt safe living on her own.Due to this, and the jurisdictional limitations of the SPVQ, the family has repeatedly petitioned the provincial Ministry of Public Security to order the case file transferred to either the Montreal police or the Sûreté du Québec, both of whom they feel could make more progress; the request has been refused. As a result, they have retained former provincial justice minister Marc Bellemare to press their case. Crime journalist Claude Poirier has also devoted an episode of his Historia series Poirier Enquête to the case. In 2017, a friend who knew Bergeron in Montreal confirmed that she had grown increasingly fearful and reclusive there in the two months before her disappearance. He said he had asked her if she had been raped or witnessed a crime. She said what had happened to her was "worse" than that, but refused to elaborate.
