Panford Beck

Beetley is a village and civil parish in the Breckland district of Norfolk, England. According to the 2011 census the parish had a population of 1,396. The village is situated four miles (6 km) north of East Dereham.

Spong Hill is an Anglo-Saxon cemetery site located south of North Elmham in Norfolk, England. It is the largest known Early Anglo-Saxon cremation site. The site consists of a large cremation cemetery and a smaller, 6th-century burial cemetery of 57 inhumations. Several of the inhumation graves were covered by small barrows and others were marked by the use of coffins. Extensive excavations of the Early Anglo-Saxon cemetery and part of the associated settlement revealed evidence of Early Prehistoric occupation on the hill top, dating from the Mesolithic to the Early Bronze Age. Excavation of the Anglo-Saxon cemetery also revealed extensive occupation evidence: late Iron Age and Roman enclosures and field boundaries, an early Roman kiln, and a small settlement of 'sunken huts' and post-hole buildings possibly contemporary with the cemetery.

East Bilney is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Beetley, in the Breckland district, in the county of Norfolk, England. East Bilney is located 7.8 kilometres (4.8 mi) north-west of Dereham and 30 kilometres (19 mi) north-west of Norwich. In 1931, the parish had a population of 117.

Hoe Rough is a 12-hectare (30-acre) nature reserve north of Dereham in Norfolk. It is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, and is part of the Beetley and Hoe Meadows Site of Special Scientific Interest.This is mixture of grassland and wet fen. Around 200 species of invertebrates have been recorded, including the rare great crested newt. Notable plants include green-winged and early marsh orchids.There is public access to the site.

The site is in two nearby areas, and Hoe Meadow is part of Hoe Rough nature reserve, which is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife TrustThis site is described by Natural England as "one of the finest remaining areas of wet unimproved grassland in Norfolk". It is traditionally managed by summer grazing, with plants such as glaucous Sedge and bog pimpernel in marshy parts and blunt-flowered rush and carnation sedge in permanently wet areas.Hoe Rough is open to the public.

Dillington Carr is a 55-hectare (140-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Dereham in Norfolk.This valley in a tributary of the River Wensum has extensive irrigation reservoirs and areas of carr woodland. An outstanding variety of birds breed on the site, including gadwalls, great crested grebe and tufted ducks on the reservoirs and barn owls, lesser spotted woodpeckers and willow tit in the woodland.The site is private land with no public access.

North Elmham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 7.41 sq mi (19.2 km2) and is located about 5 mi (8.0 km) north of East Dereham, on the west bank of the River Wensum. Including Gateley, the civil parish had a population of 1,428 in 624 households at the 2001 census; this increased slightly to 1,433 at the 2011 census. North Elmham was the site of a pre-Norman cathedral, seat of the Bishop of Elmham until 1075. For the purposes of local government, it lies within the Elmham and Mattishall division of Norfolk County Council and the Upper Wensum ward of Breckland District Council. The village is located along the B1145, a route which runs between King's Lynn and Mundesley.

Gressenhall is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The villages name origin is uncertain possibly 'Grassy nook of land' or 'gravelly nook of land'. It covers an area of 10.53 km2 (4.07 sq mi) and had a population of 1,008 in 443 households at the 2001 census, increasing to a population of 1,050 in 459 households at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of Breckland. The village is on the River Nar close to Dereham in Norfolk.

Bittering is a hamlet in the county of Norfolk, England, now in the civil parish of Beeston with Bittering. It lies west of East Dereham and south of Fakenham. The area was formerly Little Bittering parish, which was annexed to the neighbouring Beeston. The mediaeval church of St Peter is a Grade II* listed building.

Stanfield (English: ) is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 3.80 km2 (1.47 sq mi) and had a population of 162 in 2011, and 144 at the 2001 census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of Breckland. Stanfield belongs to the Parliamentary Constituency of Mid-Norfolk and is currently governed by George Freeman as their member of Parliament who is representative of the Conservative Party.

North Elmham Castle, also known as North Elmham Bishops Castle and North Elmham Bishops Chapel, is a ruined castle in the village of North Elmham, in the county of Norfolk, England.
