Windfields Farm was a six square kilometre (1,500 acre) Thoroughbred horse breeding farm that was founded by businessman E. P. Taylor in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.

Raglan is a community in Ontario. It is located 10 miles north of Oshawa and 35 miles northeast of Toronto. The village is famous for the country store and farm on the corner of Simcoe and Raglan Road. White Feather Farms first started in the 1960s when a former Dutch settler purchased the property. The farm is now under management by the second generation and has expanded numerous times with a new 15,000 bird barn. Raglan is also the site of the Old Oshawa Ski Club on the current grounds of Trillium Trails Banquet Facility and TreeTop Eco-Adventure Park. Trillium Trails used to run cross country skiing on some of the old trails of the Oshawa Ski Club and signs at the new Zip-lining park, point out the property's heritage.

Ontario Tech University (OTU), also known as Ontario Tech, is a public research university located in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The university's main campus is located on approximately 160 hectares (400 acres) of land in northern Oshawa, while its secondary satellite campus is situated in downtown Oshawa. The university is a co-educational institution that operates seven academic faculties. The institution was founded in 2002 as the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) and is still legally known by that name. In its first decade of operation, the university developed its main campus with the construction of several new buildings. In 2011, the university opened its secondary campus in downtown Oshawa. In 2018, the university was rebranded as Ontario Tech University.In 2021, there were approximately 10,100 undergraduates and 970 graduate students enrolled at the university. As of 2022, the university holds an association with over 25,500 alumni.

Whitby Township is a geographic township and former municipality in what was Ontario County (now Durham Region), Ontario, Canada. It is now part of the Town of Whitby. The Township was established in 1792 (1792) as part of what was then York County. Whitby Township was one of five townships along Lake Ontario named for towns in northeast England (York, Scarborough, Pickering, Whitby and Darlington). In 1852, the Township became part of the newly formed County of Ontario. In 1855, the Town of Whitby was incorporated as a separate municipality in the southern portion of the Township and in 1858, the Township of East Whitby was formed from the eastern portion of the municipality near Oshawa. Whitby Township was mainly a rural municipality, but contained the communities of Brooklin, Ashburn, Myrtle and Myrtle Station. The Township was amalgamated with Whitby in 1968 to form an expanded Town of Whitby.

Brooklin is a community in the town of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, north of central Whitby, at the south junction of Ontario Highways 12 and 7. While the area of Brooklin proper is confined to a specific area, the general area surrounding Brooklin largely identifies as "Brooklin" rather than "Whitby". Brooklin was located primarily in rural area about two decades ago, but it is now part of the urban Whitby, with high population growth and infrastructure development. Brooklin is surrounded with hills covering the north and the west. The hills and the forests that dominate the north are part of the South Slope of the Oak Ridges Moraine. It is located within the Lynde Creek Watershed which retains 19 to 26% of its forest cover. The population has grown rapidly since the early 1990s, with the addition of thousands of homes, predominately subdivisions, surrounding the heart of Brooklin.

Myrtle Station is a community in the Town of Whitby, Durham Region, Ontario, Canada. Myrtle Station is located approximately one kilometre north of the community of Myrtle. In 1884, the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) built a rail line between Toronto and Montreal through the area. A railway station was constructed and the community that grew in the vicinity was known as Myrtle Station. The community was originally part of Whitby Township and became part of the Town of Whitby when the two municipalities amalgamated in 1968. From 1994 until 2004 Myrtle Station hosted the annual Grasstock music and arts festival. The CPR line remains, but now ends in Havelock-Belmont-Methuen.

Oshawa Executive Airport (IATA: YOO, ICAO: CYOO) is a municipal airport adjacent to the north end of the city of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. It is the busiest general aviation airport without scheduled airline service in the Greater Toronto Area by aircraft movements and one of the busiest general aviation only airports in Canada. It includes two paved runways and instrument approaches. From 2002 to 2008, Oshawa hosted the annual Canadian Aviation Expo, Canada's largest annual aviation event, before the expo moved to John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport in 2009. Oshawa Airport now hosts the Girls Take Flight event that takes place every spring.The airport is classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada and is staffed on call by the Canada Border Services Agency. CBSA officers at this airport can handle aircraft with no more than 50 passengers. The officers also provide weekday call out for general aviation arriving from outside Canada to Buttonville Municipal Airport in Markham, Ontario.

Whitby—Oshawa was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004. Following the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution, the bulk of the district became part of the new Whitby district, while parts of it will be transferred to Oshawa and Durham.
