Worplesdon railway station is a railway station in the Woking district of Surrey, England. The station is located between Woking and Guildford stations on the Portsmouth Direct Line, 26 miles 55 chains (42.9 km) down the line from London Waterloo. The station opened in 1883, surrounded by open heath and farmland. Some nearby land has subsequently been developed and the station is currently situated in an area of affluent low-density housing. The nearest village to the station is Mayford, located approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) north-northeast of the station. Despite its name, the station is not located in Worplesdon village, which is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the southwest.

Hoe Valley School is an outstanding new co-educational, comprehensive, secondary school in Woking, England. The school was established in 2014, and opened to 4 forms of year 7 students for the first time in September 2015. The school was established by local parents, education leaders and business people under the Free Schools programme primarily to serve the south Woking and surrounding area where students have not had access to places at other local schools.

Mayford Meadows is a 4.9-hectare (12-acre) Local Nature Reserve on the southern outskirts of Woking in Surrey. It is owned and managed by Woking Borough Council.Management of meadows aims to encourage wet grassland with a rich variety of flora. Species of flowering plants include cuckooflower, marsh marigold, purple loosestrife, meadowsweet and yellow water-lily.There is access from Drakes Way.

Mayford is a village in Woking borough of the county of Surrey, England. It is roughly 21⁄2 miles south of Woking on Egley Road, part of the A320 between Woking and Guildford, Surrey. The village is mainly centred on the roundabout in the middle of the village. Mayford was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, as "Maiford". The same spelling was recorded in 1212.

Whitmoor Common is a 166-hectare (410-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the northern outskirts of Guildford in Surrey. It is part of the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area and the 184.9-hectare (457-acre) Whitmoor and Rickford Commons Local Nature Reserve, which is owned by Surrey County Council and managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust.This site on the heath of the London Basin has a variety of heathland habitats, as well as areas of woodland, meadow and still and running water. The heath has a nationally scarce spider, Oxyopes heterophthalmus and beetle Hyperaspis pseudopustulata and there are nationally important populations of several bird species.The site is open to the public.

It is owned by Surrey County Council and managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust.This is one of eight commons in the parish of Worplesdon near Guildford. It was formerly used for grazing, but it is now mainly mixed woodland with some heath and grassland.There is public access to the site.
