Claytor Lake State Park

Mountain View is an unincorporated community in Pulaski County, in the U.S. state of Virginia.

Haven B. Howe House is a historic home located at Claytor Lake State Park, near Dublin, Pulaski County, Virginia. It was built between 1876 and 1879, and is a two-story, brick dwelling with Italianate style detailing. It has a rear brick ell and projecting one-story bays on both end walls. It features ornamental wrought iron porch supports. Also on the property are three contributing limestone mounting blocks. The property, located on Claytor Lake, was conveyed to the Virginia Conservation Commission in 1947. The house is used as a Nature Exhibit Center that focuses on the lake's wildlife habitat.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

The Claytor Dam is a gravity dam on the New River in Pulaski County, Virginia, United States. It is also located about 2.5 mi (4.0 km) south of Radford. It is named after William Graham Claytor, then vice president of Appalachian Power Company (APC), who was instrumental in the dam's construction. APC is now a subsidiary of American Electric Power (AEP) who owns the dam. The primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power generation and it supports a 75 MW power station. Its reservoir, Claytor Lake, is also used for recreation. The dam was constructed and its power station commissioned in 1939. It received its first license in 1943. It is 1,142 ft (348 m) long and 145 ft (44 m) tall. It stores a reservoir with a capacity of 225,000 acreâ‹…ft (278,000,000 m3). The reservoir covers 4,472 acres (1,810 ha) and stretches 21.67 mi (34.87 km) behind the dam.

The Little River, a tributary of the New River, is approximately 65 miles long in southwest Virginia in the United States. It rises in two forks in Floyd County near the Blue Ridge Parkway. It flows NNW along the Floyd/Montgomery County line and then along the Pulaski/Montgomery County line and joins the New River just downstream from the Claytor Lake dam in Pulaski County near the city of Radford. The middle and lower portion of this very scenic waterway is suitable for paddling mostly in the spring or after heavy rains. There are several Class 1,2 rapids and two class 3 rapids and one fairly treacherous Class 4 rapid. Portions are stocked with trout by the Virginia Division of Game and Inland Fisheries.

Ingles Ferry (sometimes referred to as English Ferry) is the site of a historic ferry crossing on the New River in western Virginia, near the city of Radford in Pulaski County, Virginia, United States. A tavern was opened there in 1772 and the ferry served soldiers and civilians until 1948. A bridge was built at the site in 1842 but was burned during the civil war. The tavern and replicas of the 18th-century home of the Ingles family can be seen nearby.

Newbern is an unincorporated community in Pulaski County, in the U.S. state of Virginia. From 1839 until the court house burned in 1892, Newbern was the county seat of Pulaski County A large share of the early settlers being natives of Switzerland caused the name Newbern, after Bern, Switzerland, to be selected. The Newbern Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.Adam Hance began the town of Newbern in 1810, where the Wilderness Road or "Great road" passed directly through his grant of 1,400 acres. This holding was approximately halfway between Christiansburg, Virginia and Wytheville, Virginia. His home is located in the Newbern Historic District.

Newbern Historic District is a national historic district located at Newbern, Pulaski County, Virginia. It encompasses 47 contributing buildings in the town of Newbern. It includes a variety of residential, commercial, and institutional buildings dated as early as the early-19th century. Notable buildings include the Adam Hance House, known locally as the "Summer Resort," Duncan-Meredith House, Colley house, the Haney Tavern, Vermillion and Stone's store, the Christian Church (1860), and Old Jail (1839).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Pulaski Historic Commercial District is a national historic district located at Pulaski, Pulaski County, Virginia. It encompasses 78 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in the central business district of the town of Pulaski. It includes a variety of governmental, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings dated primarily to the late-19th and early-20th century. Notable buildings include the MaGill building, B. D. Smith and Bros., building, Elks Theatre and building (c. 1911), former high school (c. 1913–1920), freight depot (1907), Pulaski Grocery Company building, the General Chemical Company, Christ Episcopal Church (1908), and the Appalachian Power Company building (c. 1940). The Dalton Theatre Building and Pulaski County Courthouse are located in the district and listed separately.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

La Riviere, also known as the William Ingles House, is a historic home located at Radford, Virginia. It was built in 1892–1893 by Captain Billy Ingles, the great-grandson of Colonel William Ingles, and is a two-story Queen Anne house with a brick first story and a stuccoed frame second story. The house sits on rock-faced limestone blocks and has a slate-sheathed hipped roof. It features a three-story battlemented tower, a conservatory, and a curving wraparound porch. Also on the property are a contributing cook's house, garage, ice house, drive, and wall and gate.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Grayson–Gravely House is a historic home located near Graysontown, Montgomery County, Virginia. The house was built in 1891, and is a two-story, three-bay, frame Victorian dwelling with a central passage plan. It has a standing seam metal gable roof. It has a three-bay porch supported by Doric order columns and a three-stage tower with rooms on the first and third floors and a porch on the second, The porches feature a number of decorative elements including elaborate sawn balusters, a frieze with brackets, dentils, and tablets.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Graysontown is an unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Virginia, United States. Graysontown is located on the Little River 6.5 miles (10.5 km) south of Radford.
