Claytor Lake State Park is a 472-acre (191 ha) state park in Pulaski County, Virginia. The park is located on Claytor Lake, a 4,500-acre (18 km2), 21-mile-long (34 km) reservoir on the New River formed by Claytor Dam, which is used to generate hydroelectric power by the Appalachian Power Company. The reservoir is named for W. Graham Claytor (1886–1971) of nearby Roanoke, a former vice president of Appalachian Power who supervised construction of the dam and creation of the lake. Claytor Lake State Park has hiking trails, a freshwater swimming beach, boating and fishing opportunities, a full-service marina, visitor center, concession, lakeside cabins, camping with full hookups, interpretive programs and six rental shelters accommodating large groups. In addition to this, many housing projects have been created around the area due to the enticing lake-front properties. The Haven B. Howe House is used as a Nature Exhibit Center that focuses on the lake's wildlife habitat. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Dublin is a town in Pulaski County, Virginia, United States. The population was 2,610 as of the 2020 census. It is part of the Blacksburg–Christiansburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was named after Dublin in Ireland. A local legend says that the town was named after New Dublin Presbyterian Church, which was in turn named after Dublin, Ireland. The town is located near the site of the Volvo Group Trucks Operations New River Valley Cab and Vehicle Assembly plant, and near the KORONA Candles Inc. factory. The New River Valley Regional Jail is located in Dublin, Virginia, and it serves the counties of Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Pulaski, Wythe, and the City of Radford, VA.

It includes a variety of residential, commercial, and institutional buildings dated as early as the mid-19th century. Notable buildings include the Sutton House, Norfolk and Western Railroad Depot (1913), Bower Funeral Service, Baskerville-St.Clair House, Darst Building (1871), Bank of Pulaski County, McCorkle House (1878), Dublin Presbyterian Church, Dublin Methodist Church (1875), Grace Baptist Church, and the Municipal Building.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

From 1839 until the court house burned in 1892, Newbern was the county seat of Pulaski County A large share of the early settlers being natives of Switzerland caused the name Newbern, after Bern, Switzerland, to be selected. The Newbern Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.Adam Hance began the town of Newbern in 1810, where the Wilderness Road or "Great road" passed directly through his grant of 1,400 acres. This holding was approximately halfway between Christiansburg, Virginia and Wytheville, Virginia. His home is located in the Newbern Historic District.

It encompasses 78 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in the central business district of the town of Pulaski. It includes a variety of governmental, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings dated primarily to the late-19th and early-20th century. Notable buildings include the MaGill building, B. D. Smith and Bros., building, Elks Theatre and building (c. 1911), former high school (c. 1913–1920), freight depot (1907), Pulaski Grocery Company building, the General Chemical Company, Christ Episcopal Church (1908), and the Appalachian Power Company building (c. 1940). The Dalton Theatre Building and Pulaski County Courthouse are located in the district and listed separately.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

New River Community College (NRCC) is a public community college in Dublin, Virginia, in the New River Valley of southwestern Virginia. It is one of the 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System. NRCC's service region covers the counties of Montgomery, Floyd, Pulaski and Giles and the city of Radford.

New Dublin Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church complex located at Dublin, Pulaski County, Virginia. It was built in 1875, and incorporates part of a church built in 1840. It is a one-story, gable-roofed stuccoed brick church building. It primarily exhibits Greek Revival style character, with Gothic Revival style influences. It features a front entry with fanlight, a rose window, two-bay side elevations, a metal sheathed gable roof, and a limestone foundation. Also on the property are a contributing 1874 manse, a cemetery established on the eve of the American Civil War, and an outbuilding.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.A 150 year old Copper Beech tree had toppled over in the yard of the Church in 2021.
