Lokomotivfabrik Floridsdorf (Floridsdorf locomotive factory) was an Austrian locomotive works founded on 6 September 1869 that achieved a pre-eminent place amongst European locomotive builders thanks to the quality and diversity of its designs. Common abbreviations for the company include Flor, WLF (Wiener Lokomotivfabrik Floridsdorf) and LOFAG (Lokomotivfabrik Floridsdorf AG). Lokomotivfabrik Floridsdorf was the third factory of its type to emerge in Austria following the Lokomotivfabrik der Staatseisenbahngesellschaft (StEG, Vienna) and that of Georg Sigl, the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik, both based in Vienna.

Opened in 1961, it is owned and operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), and is served by both regional and S-Bahn trains. Underneath the station is the Floridsdorf U-Bahn station, which is the northeastern terminus of U6 of the Vienna U-Bahn.

Saint Leopold's Church (German: Kirche zum Heiligen Leopold, "Donaufelder Kirche") is the Roman Catholic parish church of Donaufeld in Floridsdorf, the 21st district of Vienna, Austria. Located at Kinzerplatz, it stands at a height of 96 m (315 feet), which makes it the third tallest church in Vienna. Construction was completed in 1914, ten years after the death of its architect, Franz Neumann. Earlier plans to use the church as a cathedral for a new diocese east of the Danube were abandoned when Floridsdorf was merged into Vienna in 1904. The rectory was built under the premise of serving as a bishop's residence. Today the parish belongs to the Archdiocese of Vienna and is entrusted to the pastoral care of the Augustinian Canons of Klosterneuburg. It is dedicated to Saint Leopold, patron saint of Austria and founder of Klosterneuburg.

Jedlesee (German pronunciation: [ˌjeːdləˈzeː] ; sometimes spelled Jedlersee) is a suburb of Floridsdorf, the 21st district of Vienna. An independent community until 1894, it was joined along with Leopoldau, Donaufeld, Floridsdorf and Neu Jedlesdorf to the greater Floridsdorf municipality, becoming part of Vienna in 1904. Jedlesee is most notable for being the site of the estate of Countess Anna Maria Erdődy, close friend and patron of Beethoven, who stayed there with her on numerous occasions between 1805 and 1818.

The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna (German: Veterinärmedizinische Universität Wien - in short: VUW) was founded in 1767 as the world's third school for veterinary medicine (after Lyon and Alfort) by Milan's Ludovico Scotti, originally named k. k. Pferde-Curen- und Operationsschule (literally, "Imperial-Royal School for the Cure and Surgery of Horses"). Today, it has c. 2,800 students and c. 600 employees.

Großfeldsiedlung is an underground station of the Vienna U-Bahn Line U1 in the 21st district, Floridsdorf. It lies directly below the Kürschnergasse and extends between Dopschstraße and Gitlbauergasse. In the 1960s, the large-scale and long-field district building named after the station was named after the former field name Großfeldsiedlung and Großfeldstraße. The station was opened on September 2, 2006, with the commissioning of the last section of the U1 between the stations Kagran and Leopoldau. From the central platform, you can reach the Dopschstraße or Gitlbauergasse by means of lifts and fixed stairs. There are transfer options to the bus lines 28A and 29A towards Floridsdorf U6 station. Around the station is a large field settlement, built from 1966 to 1973 urban housing complex with about 30,000 residents.

The Sendeanlage Bisamberg (Bisamberg transmission facility) was an Austrian medium wave transmission facility built in 1933 and demolished on February 24, 2010. The original transmitter was destroyed at the end of World War II, but was later rebuilt. It had two guyed steel framework masts, one with a height of 265 metres and another with a height of 120 metres. Both masts were insulated against ground. The higher mast, which was the tallest construction of Austria before demolition, was designed for use on 585 kHz, while the smaller one was designed for 1476 kHz. From January 1, 1995 to July 1, 1997, the installation was shut down, with the 1476 kHz transmitter being reactivated on July 1, 1997. The masts were demolished with controlled explosions on February 24, 2010; this decision by the city of Vienna was based on the fact that maintenance of the technologically obsolete masts as historical monuments would have been too costly. As of February 24, 2010, the Danube Tower is the tallest structure in Austria.
