Old Parliament Building (Quebec)

Parc Montmorency is a park located in Quebec City and home to Parliaments of Lower Canada, Canada East and Quebec from 1791 to 1883. It is named for Henri II, Duke of Montmorency, the viceroy of New France, 1619–1625, under the French king, Louis XIII. The site sits above the St. Lawrence River and bounded by Côte de la Montagne and Rue Port Dauphin. The last building was demolished in 1883 and in 1894 city opened it as Parc Frontenac.The park is partially covered by trees with walkways and signs describing the historical importance of the site. In 1949 the park was recognized as a national historic site.

Côte de la Montagne is a street in the Canadian city of Quebec City, Quebec. It climbs, in a winding fashion, Cap Diamant, connecting the Lower Town to the Upper Town. It begins at Rue Dalhousie in the east and ends at Rue Port Dauphine in the west. Directly opposite its western terminus is the building of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Quebec. Part way up the hill, the Breakneck Stairs, built in the 17th century, connects the pedestrian with the Lower Town at Rue Sous-le-Fort and Rue du Petit-Champlain.

The Breakneck Stairs, or Breakneck Steps (French: Escalier casse-cou), is Quebec City's oldest stairway, built in 1635. Originally called escalier Champlain ("Champlain Stairs"), escalier du Quêteux ("Beggars' Stairs"), or escalier de la Basse-Ville ("Lower Town Stairs"), they were given their current name in the mid-19th century, because of their steepness. The stairs, which connect Côte de la Montagne in the "Upper Town" to the corner of Rue du Petit-Champlain and Rue Sous-le-Fort in the "Lower Town"), have been restored several times, including an 1889 renovation by Charles Baillargé, which converted the steps from a single flight into three parallel ones.Several businesses are located on the western side of the steps at each of its four flights.

The Old Quebec Funicular (French: Funiculaire du Vieux-Québec) is a funicular railway in the Old Quebec neighbourhood of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It links the Haute-Ville (Upper Town) at Dufferin Terrace to the Basse-Ville (Lower Town) at Rue du Petit-Champlain. The Basse-Ville includes such sites as the colonial-era Notre Dame des Victoires church, the historic Petit Champlain district, the port, and the Musée de la civilisation (Museum of Civilization). Climbing at a 45-degree angle, the railway covers a total distance of 64 metres (210 ft).

The John Darlington Building is the oldest commercial building in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Located at 7 Rue de Buade, at its junction with Rue du Fort, it was built in 1775 for merchant tailor John Darlington.

The Chateau St. Louis (French: Château Saint-Louis) in Quebec City was the official residence of the French Governor of New France and later the British Governor of Quebec, the Governor-General of British North America, and the Lieutenant-Governor of Lower Canada. The site was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2002.

The Seminary of Quebec (French: Séminaire de Québec) is a Catholic community of diocesan priests in Quebec City founded by Bishop François de Laval, the first bishop of New France in 1663.

The Église Saint-Roch, in the parish of Notre-Dame de Saint-Roch is the largest church in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It was constructed between 1914 and 1923. It is the fourth successive church of the same name to be constructed at the site. The church lost its visual dominance of the city after the construction of a mall in 1974. The mall has since been demolished and today the church is at the heart of the revitalisation of the neighbourhood.

Place Royale is a historic square in the center of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

Notre-Dame-des-Victoires is a small Roman Catholic stone church on Place Royale in the lower town of Old Quebec City. Construction was started in 1687 on the site of Champlain's habitation and was completed in 1723. The church is one of the oldest in North America.

Habitation de Québec was an ensemble of buildings interconnected by Samuel de Champlain when he founded Québec during 1608. The site is located in what is now Vieux-Québec. It was located near the site of the abandoned First Nations village of Stadacona that Jacques Cartier had visited during 1535. It served as a fort and as dwellings for the new colony in New France.
