Gas Works Park is a park located in Seattle, Washington, United States. It is a 19.1-acre (77,000 m2) public park on the site of the former Seattle Gas Light Company gasification plant, located on the north shore of Lake Union at the south end of the Wallingford neighborhood. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 2, 2013, over a decade after being nominated.Gas Works Park contains remnants of the sole remaining coal gasification plant in the United States. The plant operated from 1906 to 1956 and was bought by the city of Seattle for park purposes in 1962. The park opened to the public in 1975; it was designed by Seattle landscape architect Richard Haag, who won the American Society of Landscape Architects Presidents Award of Design Excellence for the project. The plant's conversion into a park was completed by Daviscourt Construction Company of Seattle. It was originally named Myrtle Edwards Park, after the city councilwoman who had spearheaded the drive to acquire the site, who died in a car crash in 1969. In 1972, the Edwards family requested that her name be removed from that of the park because the design called for the retention of much of the plant. In 1976, Elliott Bay Park (just north of Seattle's Belltown neighborhood) was renamed Myrtle Edwards Park.

The North Transfer Station, also known as the North Recycling and Disposal Station, is a municipal waste collection and distribution facility in Seattle, Washington, United States. It is located in the Wallingford neighborhood near Gas Works Park and is one of two transfer stations managed by Seattle Public Utilities. The original facility opened in 1968 at the site of a former city stable and garage as part of a new plan to haul garbage from Seattle to the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill rather than use local dumps. In the early 2000s, the city government proposed building a modern transfer station on the site, which was approved by Seattle Public Utilities in 2011. The old facility was closed in January 2014 and replaced by a new transfer station that opened in November 2016. It includes a community center with a viewing room, public art, green architecture, and an outdoor playground.

Artifact Puzzles is a manufacturer of wooden jigsaw puzzles operating out of Fremont California. The business was founded in 2009 by University of Washington electrical engineering professor Maya Gupta, and was originally based in Seattle, Washington. Unlike traditional wooden jigsaw puzzles which are hand-cut by jigsaw, Artifact Puzzles laser-cuts 1/4" thick 3-ply plywood.The puzzle pieces are designed by an artist for each new puzzle, and do not follow a consistent style of cut. For example, some of their puzzles have traditional knob connectors, while others have piece connectors shape like clouds, hearts, bird feet, horse hooves, and ancient Greek symbols. Like traditional wooden jigsaw puzzles, most of their puzzles have "whimsy pieces", which are pieces shaped like recognizable objects. These pieces are designed to match the theme of each puzzle, and range from a cow jumping over a moon in one of their Daniel Merriam puzzles, to pieces shaped like ballerinas in their Degas puzzle. The company has designed and manufactures over 250 different puzzles of a broad range of art, with an unusually large selection of whimsical neo-surrealist art and 16th century art.

The Lake Washington Ship Canal, which runs through the city of Seattle, connects the fresh water body of Lake Washington with the salt water inland sea of Puget Sound. The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks accommodate the approximately 20-foot (6.1 m) difference in water level between Lake Washington and the sound. The canal runs east–west and connects Union Bay, the Montlake Cut, Portage Bay, Lake Union, the Fremont Cut, Salmon Bay, and Shilshole Bay, which is part of the sound.

InterConnection.org (IC) is an American 501(c)(3), non-profit organization headquartered in Seattle, Washington. InterConnection was established in 1999 by Charles Brennick. The organization's original focus was on developing and donating websites to non-profits in developing countries. The program soon expanded to include computer donations and technology training. In 2004 the InterConnection Computer Reuse and Learning Center opened in Seattle as a hub to serve both local and international communities.

Westward is a restaurant in Seattle, in the U.S. state of Washington. Established in 2013, the restaurant operates on the north end of Lake Union.

Sea Wolf (also known as Sea Wolf Bakers and Sea Wolf Bakery) is a bakery in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood, in the U.S. state of Washington. Jesse and Kit Schumann are co-owners; the brothers founded the business in 2014. The menu includes breads, pizza, cinnamon rolls, cookies, croissants, and other pastries. One savory croissant has zucchini, sunflower seed pesto, and pecorino. In 2020, David Landsel included Sea Wolf in Food & Wine's list of the 100 best bakeries in the U.S.

The Stone Avenue Bridge was a bridge in Seattle that connected Stone Avenue (now Stone Way North) in Wallingford with Westlake Avenue just north of Halladay Street. Its northern terminus was in the area of what today is North 34th Street and North 35th Street. It was a temporary replacement for the Fremont Bridge during the construction of the Lake Washington Ship Canal and was a fixed bridge; during its operation no ships with tall masts could enter or exit Lake Union. The Stone Avenue Bridge was 2,700 feet long and included two lanes for cars and wagons, two streetcar tracks, and two sidewalks. An 80-foot-long span at the north end allowed vessels up to 25 feet tall to pass underneath. Its streetcar tracks were used for routes that normally traversed the previous Fremont Bridge when that bridge collapsed in 1914.The bridge opened on May 31, 1911, and was demolished in June 1917 after the new Fremont Bridge opened. No visible evidence of the bridge remains.

Wallingford is a neighborhood in north central Seattle, lying on a hill above the north shore of Lake Union about four miles from the downtown core. The neighborhood developed quickly during the early 20th century after the establishment of the University of Washington to the east. With trolley tracks laid through the neighborhood as early as 1907, Wallingford is a classic streetcar suburb, typified by its many 1920s era box houses and bungalows. Commercial development is primarily concentrated along North 45th Street where a number of iconic structures stand including the neon "WALLINGFORD" sign, the Wallingford Center, and the original Dick's Drive-In. With its central location, numerous public amenities, including the world-renowned Gas Works Park, and views of both the Olympic and Cascade mountains, Wallingford has long been home to many middle and upper-class families. While Wallingford is mostly residential in nature, the neighborhood's southern edge, along Lake Union, has historically been an industrial and commercial business strip. In recent years, numerous office buildings have been developed as an extension of the burgeoning business center in neighboring Fremont. In 2014 Brooks Sports moved its headquarters from Bothell to a new six-story office building at the southwestern edge of Wallingford.

Aimee Rizzo included Spinasse in The Infatuation's 2023 overview of Seattle's 25 best restaurants.
