Artifact Puzzles is a manufacturer of wooden jigsaw puzzles operating out of Fremont California. The business was founded in 2009 by University of Washington electrical engineering professor Maya Gupta, and was originally based in Seattle, Washington. Unlike traditional wooden jigsaw puzzles which are hand-cut by jigsaw, Artifact Puzzles laser-cuts 1/4" thick 3-ply plywood.The puzzle pieces are designed by an artist for each new puzzle, and do not follow a consistent style of cut. For example, some of their puzzles have traditional knob connectors, while others have piece connectors shape like clouds, hearts, bird feet, horse hooves, and ancient Greek symbols. Like traditional wooden jigsaw puzzles, most of their puzzles have "whimsy pieces", which are pieces shaped like recognizable objects. These pieces are designed to match the theme of each puzzle, and range from a cow jumping over a moon in one of their Daniel Merriam puzzles, to pieces shaped like ballerinas in their Degas puzzle. The company has designed and manufactures over 250 different puzzles of a broad range of art, with an unusually large selection of whimsical neo-surrealist art and 16th century art.

Fairview Park is a 0.8-acre (3,200 m2) park located in Seattle, Washington, on the eastern shoreline of Lake Union along Fairview Avenue E. between E. Hamlin and Allison Streets. It includes a P-Patch and a boat launch.

South Passage Point Park is a 0.9-acre (0.36 ha) park located in the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, USA, directly underneath the Ship Canal Bridge on the south side of the Lake Union/Portage Bay shoreline. It was dedicated in 1977. North Passage Point Park is directly across the water on the north shore.

The Ship Canal Bridge is a double-deck steel truss bridge that carries Interstate 5 (I-5) over Seattle's Portage Bay (part of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, after which it is named) between Capitol Hill and the University District. The canal below connects Lake Union with Lake Washington. Construction was completed in 1961 and the bridge opened to traffic on December 18, 1962. It is 4,429 ft (1,350 meters) long, stands 182 feet above the canal and is 119 feet wide at the upper deck. It was the largest bridge of its kind in the Northwest when it first opened. The bridge is double-decked, with the upper deck carrying traffic in both directions and the lower deck (the express lanes) carrying traffic southbound in the morning and northbound in the afternoon. Other nearby bridges include University Bridge, Montlake Bridge, and George Washington Memorial Bridge (the Aurora Ave. bridge).

North Passage Point Park is a 0.8 acre (3,000 m2) park located in the Northlake neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, directly underneath the Ship Canal Bridge on the north side of the Lake Union/Portage Bay shoreline. It was dedicated in 1977. South Passage Point Park is directly across the water on the south shore.

Northlake is a neighborhood in Seattle, Washington, that consists of the southern part of Wallingford, below N 40th Street. It is so named for being on the northern shore of Lake Union. Landmarks include the Northlake Shipyard, Gas Works Park, the Wallingford Steps art installation, and Ivar's Salmon House. Circa 1900, the eastern part of Northlake was known as Latona, and the John Stanford International School building was formerly the Latona School. Nowadays, the name Latona is likely to refer to anywhere along Latona Ave. NE from Northlake north to NE 65th St. near Green Lake. Northlake's main thoroughfares are N 34th Street (east- and westbound), N Northlake Way and N Pacific Street (northeast- and southwest-bound), and Wallingford Avenue N and Stone Way N (north- and southbound).

John Stanford International School is an elementary school located in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. It serves grades K-5 in the Seattle School District and offers a dual-immersion program in Japanese and Spanish that is available to all students. Formerly known as Latona School, the school is named for the late John Stanford, superintendent of the Seattle School District, who died on 28 November 1998. The historic school building (1906) is a designated City of Seattle Landmark.

Gas Works Park is a park located in Seattle, Washington, United States. It is a 19.1-acre (77,000 m2) public park on the site of the former Seattle Gas Light Company gasification plant, located on the north shore of Lake Union at the south end of the Wallingford neighborhood. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 2, 2013, over a decade after being nominated.Gas Works Park contains remnants of the sole remaining coal gasification plant in the United States. The plant operated from 1906 to 1956 and was bought by the city of Seattle for park purposes in 1962. The park opened to the public in 1975; it was designed by Seattle landscape architect Richard Haag, who won the American Society of Landscape Architects Presidents Award of Design Excellence for the project. The plant's conversion into a park was completed by Daviscourt Construction Company of Seattle. It was originally named Myrtle Edwards Park, after the city councilwoman who had spearheaded the drive to acquire the site, who died in a car crash in 1969. In 1972, the Edwards family requested that her name be removed from that of the park because the design called for the retention of much of the plant. In 1976, Elliott Bay Park (just north of Seattle's Belltown neighborhood) was renamed Myrtle Edwards Park.

The University Bridge is a double-leaf bascule bridge in Seattle, Washington that carries Eastlake Avenue traffic over Portage Bay between Eastlake to the south and the University District to the north. It opened on July 1, 1919, and was extensively rebuilt from 1932 to 1933. It is included in the National Register of Historic Places.
