Path Head Mill is an 18th-century water mill situated in Summerhill, Blaydon, Tyne and Wear, England where the Vale Mill Trust has been restoring the site to include a water mill, a joiner's water power workshop and visitor's centre since 1994/95.

St Thomas More Catholic School is a Roman Catholic secondary school with academy status in Blaydon, Tyne and Wear, England, providing teaching to 11- to 19-year-olds. It is a well-regarded and over-subscribed school, performing well both regionally and nationally. In its last OFSTED inspection (2013) it was described as "an outstanding and inclusive school" and found to be outstanding in all major areas assessed. The school converted to academy status on 1 February 2012.

Blaydon is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England, and historically in County Durham. Blaydon, and neighbouring Winlaton, which Blaydon is now contiguous with, form the postal town of Blaydon-on-Tyne. The Blaydon/Winlaton resident population in 2011 was 13,896.Between 1894 and 1974, Blaydon was an urban district which extended inland from the Tyne along the River Derwent for ten miles (16 km), and included the mining communities of Chopwell and High Spen, the villages of Rowlands Gill, Blackhall Mill, Barlow, Winlaton Mill and Stella, as well as Blaydon and Winlaton. During its existence, the Urban District's fourteen and a half square miles constituted the second largest administrative district by area, on Tyneside, after Newcastle upon Tyne.

Addison and Hedgefield Woods is a 14-hectare nature reserve situated in Blaydon, Tyne and Wear, England. The reserve encompasses diverse habitats such as woodland, scrub, and grasslands. Noted for its rich array of wildflower species, it serves as a habitat for various bird species.Addison and Hedgefield Woods has been under the management of the Durham Wildlife Trust since 2014.

Addison and Hedgefield Reserve is a woodland area located in the region of Gateshead, United Kingdom, situated to the north of the B6317 to the west of Ryton, Tyne and Wear. The reserve holds historical significance as it was once the site of a working coal pit and a vibrant mining community. Today, it encompasses woodlands, scrub, grasslands, and wet grasslands, that contain a variety of plant and animal species.

Ottovale coke works was a large industrial complex situated at Blaydon Burn, near Blaydon-on-Tyne, Gateshead, North East England. The complex comprised a coke works, tar works and a power station. Built on the site of Dockendale Hall in 1904, it was operated by the Priestman Collieries until the 1970s. The power station at the plant, known as Blaydon Burn Power Station or the Priestman Power Station was fuelled by waste heat from the coking process. In the 1910s, a number of advancements in steam turbine technology were first implemented at the station.

Sugley is an area of Newcastle upon Tyne adjacent to Lemington in North East England: its parish church is Holy Saviour, Sugley.

Lemington Power Station was a small, now demolished coal-fired power station, located in North East England. It was situated on the Lemington Gut, a backwater of the River Tyne, at Lemington, 3.5 mi (5.6 km) west of Newcastle upon Tyne. The station's main building stood until 2017 as a rare example of an early power station, dating from before the nationalisation of the United Kingdom's electrical supply industry. The station was opened in 1903 with a total generating capacity of 970 kilowatts, the electricity generated being used to power a tram system, and provide local households and streets with electric lighting. The station ceased generating electricity in 1919, however the structure was retained for use as a sub-station until 1946 when the tram line closed. The station was partially demolished in 1949, but was made a locally listed building and its site currently owned by construction company Nortland Construction. In March 2012 Norland applied to Newcastle City Council for permission to demolish the building on the grounds of it being at risk of collapse. The station was finally demolished in 2017.

The Anglo Great Lakes Graphite Plant was a large graphite works situated in the North East of England. It was positioned at Lemington in Newcastle upon Tyne, on the north bank of the River Tyne. The plant was operated by the Anglo Great Lakes Corporation and produced high grade carbon for use in Magnox nuclear reactors, Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors and low grade carbon for use in carbon arc burning.
