Les Milles

The Camp des Milles [kɑ̃ de mil] was a French internment camp, opened in September 1939, in a former tile factory near the village of Les Milles, part of the commune of Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône). In October 2015, the site was chosen by UNESCO as the headquarters for its new Chair of Education for Citizenship, Human Sciences and Shared Memories.

Aix-en-Provence Aerodrome (French: Aérodrome d'Aix-en-Provence) (ICAO: LFMA), also known as Aix les Milles Airport (Aéroport Aix les Milles), is an airport serving Aix-en-Provence, a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. It is located 6 km (3.2 NM) west-southwest of Aix-en-Provence, in the village of Les Milles.It formerly served as a military air base, known as Base Aerienne 114 d'Aix Les Milles. A campus of the École nationale de l'aviation civile (French civil aviation university) is also located at the aerodrome.

The Bastide d'Orcel is a historic bastide in Aix-en-Provence, France. It is located on the route de Galice in Aix-en-Provence, in southeastern France.The bastide was completed in 1777, a decade before the French Revolution of 1789. It has been listed as an official historical monument by the French Ministry of Culture since 1984.

Lycée International Georges Duby is a non fee-paying state high school in southern France, which prepares students for the French Baccalauréat. Students in the main section of the Lycée are drawn from the residential areas of the southern suburbs of Aix-en-Provence.

Luynes (French: [lɥin]) is a village of the Bouches-du-Rhône département in southern France. It is located 4 km south of Aix-en-Provence at the intersection of the D7 and N8 roads. The village is perhaps best known for its prison and for its three international schools. The Nécropole Nationale de Luynes is also located nearby. Luynes is bordered by the Massif du Montaiguet, which expands to Gardanne and Aix en Provence. It comprises chalky plateaux bordered by cliffs, forests of pines and oaks, and crops areas. In 1979 and 2005 the area was devastated by bush fires. Following these incidents, garrigue is now covering a wide area.

The International Bilingual School of Provence (founded in 1984) is a mixed day and boarding school situated in Luynes on the outskirts of Aix-en-Provence in the south of France. With over 700 students, more than 75 different nationalities, students from 2 to 18 years old learn in a multilingual environment. The school is an International Baccalaureate accredited school and also offers the traditional French curriculum as well as the IGCSEs from Cambridge.

Fondation Vasarely is a museum in Aix en Provence, France, dedicated to the works of Victor Vasarely.

Stade Maurice David is a multi-purpose stadium in Aix-en-Provence, France that is mainly used for rugby union. A new 1,000 capacity stand was built at the end of October 2018, bring the stadium capacity up to 6,000. It is the home stadium of Provence Rugby, who play in Pro D2.On 16 October 2020, the stadium hosted the final of the 2019–20 European Rugby Challenge Cup final after the match was moved from the Stade de Marseille due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe. Bristol Bears won the match over Toulon 32–19, in front of a limited crowd of 1,000 spectators.

The Jardins d'Albertas are private, 18th-century gardens à la française in the town of Bouc-Bel-Air in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of France. They are classified by the French Ministry of Culture as one of the Remarkable Gardens of France.

Bouc-Bel-Air (French pronunciation: ​[buk bɛl‿ɛʁ]; Occitan: Boc) is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southern France. It is situated between Aix-en-Provence to the north, Gardanne to the east, Marseille to the south and Vitrolles to the west. The old village is located at the summit of a small hill (a bouc in the regional language Provençal). In 2018, the commune had a population of 14,784.

The Canton of Aix-en-Provence-IV or Aix-en-Provence-Sud-Ouest is a former canton in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of France. It was created 27 February 2003 by the decree 2003-156. It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. At 70,749 inhabitants (2012), it was the most populous canton in France.Elected to represent the canton in the General Council of Bouches-du-Rhône : André Guinde (Socialist Party (France), 2004–2010)
