Pleumartin

The Canton of Pleumartin is a former canton situated in the Vienne département of France. It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. It had a total of 6,744 inhabitants (2012, without double counting).

The Anglin (French pronunciation: [ɑ̃ɡlɛ̃]) is a 91.3 km (56.7 mi) long river in the Creuse, Indre and Vienne departments in central France. Its source is near Azerables. It flows generally northwest. It is a right tributary of the Gartempe, into which it flows near Angles-sur-l'Anglin. Its main tributaries are the Salleron, the Abloux and the Benaize. The Anglin is one of France's few remaining "wild rivers" (rivers which have never been dammed). Anglin Castle is an 11th Century castle located high above the banks of the Anglin in the town of Angles-sur-l'Anglin.

Yzeures-sur-Creuse (French pronunciation: [izœʁ syʁ kʁøz], literally Yzeures on Creuse) is a commune in the Indre-et-Loire department, central France. It is one of the oldest towns in Touraine, occupation dating back to the Upper Paleolithic era earlier than 10,000 BCE. Today, it's a village of 1500 inhabitants, situated in a rural setting. The town benefits from the spa activity of the nearby town of La Roche-Posay. Yzeures also offers a range of tourism activities and second homes are numerous. Its inhabitants are called Yzeurois, Yzeuroises.

The Château d'Angles-sur-l'Anglin is a ruined castle in the commune of Angles-sur-l'Anglin in the Vienne département of France. It dates originally from the 12th century, with significant alterations and additions in the 15th century.The ruin is open to the public during normal hours at a cost of 6 euros. A self guided tour provides several informative kiosks along the way in both French and English. A motte was here before the present castle. The earliest records date from 1025. The keep and vault were constructed in the 12th century. In the 15th century, the keep was altered for bishop Hugues de Combarel who also built the new castle. Guillaume de Charpagne, his successor, continued the work.It has been listed since 1926 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.
