Bierbeek

Korbeek-Lo is a large village located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant, a short distance to the east of Leuven. The total area is 39.75 km² which gives a population density, using 2006 values, of 829 inhabitants per km². As a result of extensive local government boundary changes in 1977 Korbeek-Lo, as an administrative entity, was abolished. Since then the more built up western part of Korbeek-Lo has been subsumed into Leuven while the more rural eastern part of the former municipality is now part of Bierbeek.

The northern part of the former municipality of Haasrode (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦaːsroːdə]) is now a part of the city of Leuven, Belgium. According to the official website of Leuven, Haasrode is a part of the sub-municipality of Heverlee.In 1977, Haasrode was merged with Oud-Heverlee, Blanden, Vaalbeek and Sint-Joris-Weert to form the municipality of Oud-Heverlee. The northern part of the former municipality of Haasrode was administratively annexed to Leuven. Haasrode Research-Park is located in Leuven's Haasrode.

The western part of the former municipality of Korbeek-Lo is now a part of the city of Leuven, Belgium. Beauvechain (Walloon: Bôvètché; Dutch: Bevekom) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium. On 1 January 2006 the municipality had 6,529 inhabitants. The total area is 38.58 km2, giving a population density of 169 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Beauvechain, Hamme-Mille, L’Écluse, Nodebais, and Tourinnes-la-Grosse. Beauvechain has several protected heritage sites. It is also home to Beauvechain Air Base which formerly flew F-16 Fighting Falcon jets.

The Haasrode Research-Park business and research park in Heverlee (Leuven, Belgium) with a total area of 136 hectares (336 acres), accommodates dozens of high-technology businesses, employing well over 5,000 people in total. International companies such as Siemens, Terumo, KLA Corporation, 3D Systems, Tomra, Nikon, Sony, NXP,... have important, often research oriented branches in Leuven. Next to these multinational companies, there are tens of innovative (KU Leuven) spin-off companies like Materialise, Easics, LAB Motion Systems, Soundtalks, The Kobi Company, Octinion,... as the nearby presence of the internationally renowned KU Leuven university (Europe's most innovative University) and UCLL generates a continuous flow of highly innovative companies. The park is located near the Brussels area and is very well connected to the airport. Divided in a research and science park and a business-production park, it houses an important variety of industries. Companies are attracted by the international research centre Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre, UZ Leuven, one of the largest academic hospitals in Europe and the KU Leuven university.

Tourinnes-la-Grosse (Dutch: Deurne; Walloon: (El Grosse) Tourene) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Beauvechain, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium. It was a municipality in its own right before the fusion of the Belgian municipalities in 1977.

Park Abbey (Dutch: Abdij van Park; also Parc Abbey) is a Premonstratensian abbey in Belgium, at Heverlee just south of Leuven, in Flemish Brabant. The Annales Parchenses were written here in the 12th century.

Heverlee War Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) burial ground for the dead of the Second World War located in Heverlee, Belgium. The Heverlee War Cemetery was established in 1946 and contains 977 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, twenty-nine First World War burials relocated to the cemetery, and twelve non-Commonwealth graves (including 11 Polish and 1 American airmen). The cemetery is one of those designed by Commission architect Philip Hepworth.

Vlierbeek Abbey (Dutch: Abdij van Vlierbeek) is a former Benedictine abbey to the north-east of Leuven in Belgium, in the sub-district Kessel-Lo.

Boutersem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbʌu̯tərsɛm] (listen)) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Boutersem proper, Kerkom, Neervelp, Roosbeek, Vertrijk and Willebringen. On January 1, 2006, Boutersem had a total population of 7,532. The total area is 30.75 km² which gives a population density of 245 inhabitants per km².

Kessel-Lo (population 26,000) is a town in Belgium. It is a borough of Leuven, situated to the east and north of Leuven proper. Kessel-Lo is bordered by Holsbeek, Lubbeek, and several other sub-municipalities that are part of Leuven (Leuven municipality comprises the historic sub-municipalities of Heverlee, Wilsele, Wijgmaal, Leuven proper and Kessel-Lo). Though Kessel-Lo is a part of Leuven municipality, it has its own postal code: 3010. Its name is derived from "Kessel" (from the Latin "Castellum" for fortress, referring to a fortress that once stood on the Kessel mountain) and "Lo" (forest clearing). Kessel-Lo is home to the Provinciaal Domein Kessel-Lo, a large provincial park with ponds, playgrounds, soccer fields, and other areas for recreational activities. The town has nice smaller public parks such as Park Bellevue and Park Michotte and is also known for Vlierbeek Abbey, an old Benedictine abbey built in 1125. Several youth organisations are present in Kessel-Lo, such as Chiro Don Bosco, Chiro Vlierbeek, Scouts Vlierbeek, Chiro Blauwput, Chiro Hekeko, Scouts De Vlievleger and Scouts Boven-lo. A local brewery has recently been founded called "De Vlier". They brew a blond beer called "Kessel's Blond". Kessel-Lo is also the proud home of the Rugby Club Leuven and Thijs Vandebon.

Nodebais (Dutch: Nodebeek; Walloon: Nodebåy) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Beauvechain, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium.It was a municipality in its own right before the fusion of the Belgian municipalities in 1977.
