Beauvechain

Tourinnes-la-Grosse (Dutch: Deurne; Walloon: (El Grosse) Tourene) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Beauvechain, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium. It was a municipality in its own right before the fusion of the Belgian municipalities in 1977.

Beauvechain Air Base (ICAO: EBBE) is a Belgian Air Component military airfield in Belgium, located 3 nautical miles (5.6 km; 3.5 mi) south of Beauvechain in Wallonia (Walloon Brabant Province); 20 mi (32 km) east-southeast of Brussels. It is home to the 1st Wing, operating A109BA helicopters, and the Basic Flying Training School, operating SIAI Marchetti SF.260 trainer aircraft. It is used as a base for the operational helicopter squadrons, and as a training center for pilots. Beauvechain also houses the Wing Meteo and the Air Force Band. It employs 1,100, therefore being the second employer of Walloon Brabant.

Nodebais (Dutch: Nodebeek; Walloon: Nodebåy) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Beauvechain, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium.It was a municipality in its own right before the fusion of the Belgian municipalities in 1977.

Bierbeek (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbiːrbeːk]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Bierbeek proper, Korbeek-Lo, Lovenjoel and Opvelp. On January 1, 2006, Bierbeek had a total population of 9,147. The total area is 39.73 km² which gives a population density of 230 inhabitants per km².

L'Écluse (Dutch: Sluizen; Walloon: Scluze) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Beauvechain, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium.It was a municipality in its own right before the fusion of the Belgian municipalities in 1977.

Korbeek-Lo is a large village located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant, a short distance to the east of Leuven. The total area is 39.75 km² which gives a population density, using 2006 values, of 829 inhabitants per km². As a result of extensive local government boundary changes in 1977 Korbeek-Lo, as an administrative entity, was abolished. Since then the more built up western part of Korbeek-Lo has been subsumed into Leuven while the more rural eastern part of the former municipality is now part of Bierbeek.

Meerdaal, also known as Meerdaalwoud and Meerdaalbos, is a woodland lying east of Brussels and south of Leuven, on the loess plateau of Brabant in central Belgium. The bigger part of it has most likely been continuously forested since the Middle Ages, but the archaeological record and geomorphology give evidence of a profound human influence, probably including agriculture, during the Roman era and the Iron Age.

The northern part of the former municipality of Haasrode (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦaːsroːdə]) is now a part of the city of Leuven, Belgium. According to the official website of Leuven, Haasrode is a part of the sub-municipality of Heverlee.In 1977, Haasrode was merged with Oud-Heverlee, Blanden, Vaalbeek and Sint-Joris-Weert to form the municipality of Oud-Heverlee. The northern part of the former municipality of Haasrode was administratively annexed to Leuven. Haasrode Research-Park is located in Leuven's Haasrode.

The Haasrode Research-Park business and research park in Heverlee (Leuven, Belgium) with a total area of 136 hectares (336 acres), accommodates dozens of high-technology businesses, employing well over 5,000 people in total. The park is located near the Brussels area and is very well connected to the airport. Divided in a research and science park and a business-production park, it houses an important variety of industries. Companies are attracted by the international research centre Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre, UZ Leuven, one of the largest academic hospitals in Europe and the KU Leuven university.

Grez-Doiceau (French pronunciation: [ɡʁe dwaso]; Walloon: Gré; Dutch: Graven, Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɣraːvən]) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant. On January 1, 2006, Grez-Doiceau had a total population of 12,403. The total area is 55.44 km² which gives a population density of 224 inhabitants per km². Grez-Doiceau is watered by the Train, a tributary of the Dyle. The municipality consists of the following districts: Archennes, Biez, Bossut-Gottechain, Grez-Doiceau, and Nethen. The Nobel Prize-winning cytologist and biochemist Christian de Duve (1917–2013) died in Grez-Doiceau.

Saint-Remy-Geest (Dutch: Sint-Remigius-Geest; Walloon: Djé-Sint-Rmey) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Jodoigne, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium.

Vaalbeek is part of Oud-Heverlee in Flemish Brabant, Belgium. The municipality further comprises the villages of Blanden, Haasrode, Oud-Heverlee proper and Sint-Joris-Weert. On 1 January 2006, Vaalbeek had a total population of 363.
