Ebute Ero is a town in Lagos State south-western Nigeria. It is located in Lagos Island Local Government Area. Ebute Ero is part of Lagos Metropolitan Area. The town was a major communication link between the new and old citizens of Lagos and a market called Ebute Ero market located in the town is one of the largest and oldest markets in Nigeria.

Soldier Idumota (Yoruba: Sojadumota) sometimes called Unknown Soldier, is a cenotaph located in Idumota, a suburb of Lagos, in Lagos State, Nigeria. It was built and erected in 1948 by the Nigerian government to commemorate the soldiers who died during World War I and World War II.

Carter Bridge built in 1901 is one of three bridges connecting Lagos Island to the mainland, the other are the Third Mainland and Eko bridges. At the time of its construction, this was the only bridge connection between the mainland and Lagos Island. The bridge starts from Iddo on the mainland and ends at Idumota area of Lagos Island.The bridge was named after Sir Gilbert Thomas Carter, a former Governor of the Colony of Lagos.The Carter Bridge was originally constructed by the British colonial government, prior to Nigerian independence in 1960. After independence, the bridge was dismantled, redesigned and rebuilt during late 1970s. The Alaka-Ijora flyover, on the Iddo end of the span was completed in 1973.

Lagos Central Mosque is an important jum'at mosque in Lagos Island and home of the Chief Imam of Lagos. It is located along the busy Nnamdi Azikiwe Street. The current Mosque was opened for use in May 1988, displacing an earlier mosque that was built between 1908 and 1913. The chief Imam leads jumat service at the Mosque and he is the custodian of the mosque. Over the years, titles have been given to individuals by officials of the mosque's executive council. A prominent title is the Baba Adinni, first held by a Mr. Runmonkun, and recently bestowed on A.W. Elias, Wahab Folawiyo and Abdul Hafiz Abou. The first two title holders played significant roles in the construction of a new modern mosque.

Shitta-Bey Mosque is a mosque, religious learning centre and one of the oldest mosques in Nigeria. The mosque is located at Martins Ereko Street, Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria. It was established in 1892 and designated as National monument by Nigerian Commission for Museums and Monuments in 2013. The mosque, considered one of the most important historical legacies of Nigeria, Shitta-Bey Mosque was named after its founder Sierra Leonean-born Nigerian, Mohammed Shitta Bey, who was an aristocrat, philanthropist and businessman.

Eko Bridge is one of three bridges connecting Lagos Island to the mainland, the others are the Third Mainland and Carter bridges. The bridge was built in 1975 and is the shortest of the three bridges linking Lagos Island to mainlaind.Eko bridge was made to convey citizens faster. Bolu Akande brought up the idea at a summit of leaders In 1963 but no one listened to him till 1965. It was the first major project undertaken by Julius Berger which was approved by Shehu Shagari who was then the Minister of Works during Nigeria's First Republic. The bridge starts from Ijora on the mainland and ends at the Apongbon area of Lagos Island. The lagoon section of the bridge spans a distance of 430 metres. The bridge and its landward extension of 1350 metres were constructed in phases between 1965 and 1975. It serves as the preferred access point for vehicular traffic approaching Lagos Island from the Apapa and Surulere areas of Lagos. The bridge was built by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC.The first phase rehabilitation plan commenced from 23 August 2014 to 27 October 2014 which lasted for 71 days. The state government announced that the rehabilitation would not necessitate its total closure rather the bridge would be rehabilitated in phase. The bridge was partially shut for rehabilitation on 4 July 2020. The Federal Ministry of Works, Nigeria, rehabilitated the second phase of the bridge from 23 October till 9 November 2021.The second phase of the rehabialiation was officially announced by the state government to commence on Saturday October 23 to November 9, 2021, by the Federal Ministry of Works. According to the report, the work will commence along Alaka-Apongbon area of the state.

Lagos Terminus, also known as Lagos Iddo, has been the main railway station of the city of Lagos until 2021. The rail terminus is located on Iddo Island, nearby Lagos Island and in the middle of the city.

Olowogbowo is an area in the west of Lagos Island in Lagos, also known as Apongbon. The area is in the central business district. The community was founded after 1851, when freed Yoruba captives and their descendants who had been set ashore in Sierra Leone returned in successive waves to Lagos, and were granted land to settle in the Olowogbowo and Breadfruit areas of the island.The name Apongbon is a garbled version of the Yoruba phrase a l'agbon pipon ("man with the red beard"), a name given to William McCoskry, acting governor of the newly established Colony of Lagos in 1861.Jùjú music originated in the Olowogbowo area in the 1920s, when area boys used to gather in a motor mechanic workshop to drink and make music. Iddo Island is a district in Lagos Mainland LGA of Lagos. Opposite Lagos Island, Iddo used to be an island, but due to land reclamation, is now part of the rest of Lagos Mainland. Iddo Island is connected to Lagos Island by the Eko Bridge and the Carter Bridge. Prior to the landfill, Iddo was connected to the Lagos Mainland by the Denton Bridge, named after Sir George Chardin Denton, former Lieutenant Governor of the Colony of Lagos. Iddo is home to the Lagos Terminus and was the first and only place in Nigeria to host a tram service - linking Lagos Island through Carter Bridge.

Massey Children's Hospital (a.k.a. Massey Street Children's Hospital) is a 85-bed pediatric state-owned treatment hospital headquartered in Lagos Island, Lagos State. Founded in 1914, it is owned by the government of Lagos State.

Ilojo Bar, also called Olaiya House or Casa da Fernandez, was a Brazilian-styled historic building located near Tinubu Square in Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria. It was originally built as a bar and restaurant in 1855 by the Fernandez family who employed returning ex-slaves who had mastered the art of building while in South America. Ilojo Bar was subsequently sold to Alfred Omolana Olaiya of the Olaiya family in 1933 and was declared a national monument in 1956 by the National Commission for Museums and Monuments.
