Kensington Town Hall is a former municipal hall in Kensington, Victoria, Australia. The classical style building, located in Bellair Street was first constructed in 1901.During World War II it was used as a command post. It served as a legal centre in the 1980s. It is heritage listed and currently operates as a community centre, dance and ballet school. The building is currently being restored, with work being done to preserve the facade and foundations of the building. The restored building was officially reopened by the Lord Mayor of Melbourne Robert Doyle on 28 February 2015, after a $4.8 million renovation.

It serves the northern Melbourne suburb of Kensington, and it opened on 1 November 1860.Special services to Flemington Racecourse and Showgrounds pass through the station, but do not stop, with signs on Platform 2 advising passengers of this.

Macaulay railway station is located on the Upfield line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the inner northern Melbourne suburb of North Melbourne, and it opened on 1 December 1887 as Macaulay Road. It was renamed Macaulay on 1 May 1909.The station is located beside the Moonee Ponds Creek to its west, and surrounded mainly by factories and warehouses. Kensington, on the Craigieburn line, is only 400 m (1,300 ft) west of Macaulay, and is significantly closer to the residential area and handles a larger number of commuters. The station is also located at ground level, beneath the CityLink tollway, which is supported atop concrete columns that are located outside the platform fencing.

Flemington is an inner-city suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 5 km (3.1 mi) north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Cities of Melbourne and Moonee Valley local government areas. Flemington recorded a population of 7,025 at the 2021 census.Flemington is located between the Maribyrnong River and the Moonee Ponds Creek and includes the locality of Newmarket, in which the main commercial area Racecourse Road is located. The suburb was named by settler James Watson after Flemington Estate in Scotland. Another version of the origin of the name relates to Robert Fleming, a Brunswick resident who had owned land beside the Saltwater River and operated a butchery there. The Melbourne Cup Thoroughbred horse race has been held at Flemington Racecourse since 1861.

Flemington was an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It was created in 1904 with the abolition of Essendon and Flemington. The new seat was won by the former Labor member for the abolished seat, Edward Warde. Flemington was abolished in 1945 when several new districts were created, including Moonee Ponds. Flemington was created again in 1955 but was abolished once more in 1967, with its territory being incorporated into Essendon.

The Newmarket railway substation is a heritage-listed railway electrical substation located at 132-164 Newmarket Street, in Flemington, an inner-western suburb of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia. It was built in c. 1914 – c. 1915 and was added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 19 September 1996 in recognition of its scientific and architectural importance. Despite its nomenclature, the substation is located in the suburb of Flemington. The substation was decommissioned as a substation in c. 1966 and continued to operate as a DC switching station (or tiestation). The switching was temporarily recommissioned in 1986 for the Papal visit.
