Gmina Lipowa

Lipowa [liˈpɔva] is a village in Żywiec County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Lipowa. It lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) west of Żywiec and 64 km (40 mi) south of the regional capital Katowice. It is one of the oldest villages in Żywiec Basin. It was established in the late 13th century, and soon it became a seat of a Catholic parish.

Ostre [ˈɔstrɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lipowa, within Żywiec County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) west of Żywiec and 66 km (41 mi) south of the regional capital Katowice. The village was established in the early 17th century on the slopes of Ostre mountain in Silesian Beskids, originally named Podostre.

The village was established in 1608 by Mikołaj Komorowski, the owner of Żywiec Latifundium.

Twardorzeczka [tfardɔˈʐɛt͡ʂka] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lipowa, within Żywiec County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) south-west of Żywiec and 67 km (42 mi) south of the regional capital Katowice. It lies in Żywiec Basin alongside a Twardorzeczka stream flowing out from Silesian Beskids. There are two Tilia trees registered as natural monuments in the village. The village began as a hamlet of Radziechowy, where it belonged to until its separation in 1948. Monika Brodka, a Polish singer, grew up in the village.

It was established in the first half of the 14th century.

It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south of Łodygowice, 5 km (3 mi) west of Żywiec, and 64 km (40 mi) south of the regional capital Katowice. It is one of the oldest villages in Żywiec Basin. It was established in the 13th century, and in the early 14th century belonged to the Cistercian monastery in Rudy.
