York South—Weston

York South—Weston is a provincial electoral district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1999.Its Member of Provincial Parliament is New Democrat Faisal Hassan.

Kodak Mount Dennis Campus, also known as Kodak Heights, was an industrial park in the Mount Dennis neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was owned and operated by the Eastman Kodak Company as a major camera manufacturing factory since its opening in 1912, peaking at 900 employees in 1925, 3,000 in the 1970s, falling to about 800 before it ceased the plant's operations in 2006.Kodak had opened its Canadian operations on November 8, 1899, first on Colborne Street and then King Street in the downtown core. By 1912 the company was growing so rapidly that a new corporate campus was needed. George Eastman personally visited Toronto to view potential sites, eventually selecting the Mount Dennis area, which at that time was farmland. In 1913 the company purchased 10 hectares (25 acres) at $12,000 per hectare ($5,000/acre) and began construction as soon as the deed was transferred. A series of seven buildings were initially constructed, including two that were connected by an enclosed bridge. The first to be completed, Building 1, was the power plant, which connected to the Canadian Pacific Railway just south of the plant with a spur that ended inside the building. It burned about 500 tonnes of coal a day. The move from the King Street facilities began in 1916, completed the next year.The 19-hectare (48-acre) campus once contained over a dozen buildings, of which only Kodak Building 9 remains standing. The building was abandoned until 2013 when the land was acquired by Metrolinx to construct the Eglinton Crosstown line. It will be the location of the Mount Dennis LRT station main entrance with a bus terminal, and the Eglinton Maintenance and Storage Facility nearby. Corporate offices moved to 200 Monogram Place in Etobicoke.

The Eglinton Maintenance and Storage Facility is a rail yard and vehicle service centre for Line 5 Eglinton of the Toronto subway. The facility is located near the line's western terminus at Mount Dennis station, on lands formerly occupied by Kodak's Toronto campus.The Eglinton line uses Flexity Freedom vehicles on 1,435 mm (4 ft 8+1⁄2 in) standard gauge and is not connected to the Toronto streetcar system, which uses 4 ft 10+7⁄8 in (1,495 mm) Toronto gauge. The facility was substantially complete in October 2018, and was ready for the delivery of the first Flexity Freedom vehicle on January 8, 2019. Five more were delivered by February 2019.

Mount Dennis is an intermodal transit terminal under construction in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Located east of the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Weston Road in the Mount Dennis neighbourhood in the district of York, the station will be the western terminus of the future Line 5 Eglinton as well as an intermediate station on the GO Transit Kitchener line and Union Pearson Express. The station has been designated as one of many "mobility hubs" in Greater Toronto. It is scheduled to open in 2022.The station is being built on the lands formerly known as Kodak Heights, which was a camera manufacturing facility operated by the Eastman Kodak Company from 1918 to 2006. The station will use Kodak Building 9, a heritage building and local landmark, as a station entrance. Adjacent to the station, the Eglinton Maintenance and Storage Facility is also located on the lands.

The York Civic Centre is a government building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located at 2700 Eglinton Avenue West in the neighbourhood of Beechborough-Greenbrook. The building is used by the Toronto West Court Office and was the seat of the municipal government of the former city of York, Ontario. York's Civic Centre does not have a public square like several other civic centres in Toronto, but is located next to Coronation Park and York Memorial Collegiate Institute. There is a time capsule present on the grounds, adjacent to the city of York's war memorial. It is intended to be opened in 2193, Toronto's quadricentennial anniversary.

Silverthorn, often misspelled as Silverthorne, is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was part of the former City of York before the amalgamation of Toronto in 1998. The approximate boundaries are the GO Transit Barrie line railway tracks to the east, Black Creek Drive and the CP railway line to the west and the former boundaries of the City of York to the north and south. The neighbourhood west of Keele Street is known as Keelesdale. For demographic purposes, the city breaks the area down into two neighbourhoods Keelesdale-Eglinton West, south of Eglinton, and Beechborough-Greenbrook north of Eglinton.

St. Oscar Romero Catholic Secondary School (acronym as SORCSS, St. Oscar Romero, St. Oscar Romero CSS, or in short Romero), operated as Archbishop Romero Catholic Secondary School until 2015 and Blessed Archbishop Romero Catholic Secondary School until 2018 is a Catholic high school located in York, Ontario, a municipality of Toronto. The school is a member of the Toronto Catholic District School Board, formerly the Metropolitan Separate School Board and is named after Salvadoran archbishop Oscar Romero, who was assassinated in 1980. The school building was opened in 1967 as York Humber High School by the Board of Education for the City of York when the board merged into the Toronto District School Board in which the school is leased to the MSSB/TCDSB since 1989. St. Oscar Romero's school motto is "Community, Justice, and Knowledge".
