Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) is a private Catholic university in Belmont, California. It is the third oldest college in California and the first college in the state authorized to grant the baccalaureate degree to women. In 2021, the university announced it will begin to operate as a graduate school only.The university is organized into three schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Management, and the School of Education and Leadership. Notre Dame de Namur University offers 15 undergraduate degrees, 10 graduate degrees and four credentials. In addition to traditional undergraduate and graduate programs, the university offers an evening bachelor's degree completion program for working adults as well as online degree programs.

Notre Dame High School, Belmont is a private, All-Female, Catholic, college preparatory high school located in the San Mateo County suburb of Belmont, California. The school is operated by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur for the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The school's mission is driven by the teachings of Saint Julie Billiart, the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The official school colors are navy, blue, and gold.

Belmont is an affluent city in San Mateo County in the U.S. state of California. It is in the San Francisco Bay Area, on the San Francisco Peninsula about halfway between San Francisco and San Jose. Known for its wooded hills, views of the San Francisco Bay and stretches of open space, Belmont is a quiet residential community in the midst of the culturally and technologically rich Bay Area. It was originally part of Rancho de las Pulgas, for which one of its main roads, the Alameda de las Pulgas, is named. The city was incorporated in 1926. Its population was 28,335 at the 2020 census. Ralston Hall is a historic landmark built by Bank of California founder William Chapman Ralston on the campus of Notre Dame de Namur University, and is also home to Notre Dame High School. It was built around a villa formerly owned by Count Leonetto Cipriani, an Italian aristocrat. The locally famous "Waterdog Lake" is also located in the foothills and highlands of Belmont. A surviving structure from the Panama-Pacific International Exposition is on Belmont Avenue (another is the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco). The building was brought to Belmont by E.D. Swift shortly after the exposition closed in 1915. The city is bordered by San Mateo to the north, Half Moon Bay to the west, Redwood Shores to the east, and San Carlos to the south. Belmont has a smoking ordinance, passed in January 2009, which bans smoking in all businesses and multi-story apartments and condominiums; the ordinance has been described as one of the strictest in the nation.

Charles Armstrong School, located in Belmont, California, is an independent, non-profit, co-educational lower and middle day school specializing in teaching students with language-based learning differences, such as dyslexia. Armstrong helps its students re-enter traditional public and private schools with the learning tools necessary to be language proficient. Tuition, grants and donations support Charles Armstrong School, which is the only school of its kind in the San Francisco Bay Area. The school provides a full academic program, along with elective classes for middle school students, and extracurricular sports and drama activities. Charles Armstrong School is certified by the California State Board of Education and has received the highest rating from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Davey Glen Park is a 1-acre (4,000 m2) piece of parkland set aside by the city of Belmont, California, in 2000 as part of an upscale housing development nearby. Donation of land for parks or in-lieu fees are required by the city for such development. In this case, The developer donated land valued at approxmately $450,000 to the City of Belmont Parks Department in 2000 for use as a park. The site is zoned for planned development, but the title is held by the city. The layout of Davey Glen Park is similar to that of Twin Pines park and other parks in Belmont. There is a flat area with a slope and a stream below it. The bay and Mount Diablo are partially visible through the eucalyptus trees. It is close to a neighborhood shopping area. The park is located near the top of a steep grade, and there is a privately owned concrete walking path trail that provides access to the residents on North Road. This walking path was donated by the two adjacent homeowners (one of whom was a former mayor of Belmont).

The San Carlos Charter Learning Center (SCCLC) is a charter school in San Carlos, California, United States. It was the first charter school in California and the second in the nation. It was created in 1994. The San Carlos Charter Learning Center has a student population of 300 students in grades K-8. It has students enrolled from all over the San Francisco Bay area. The Director of San Carlos Charter Learning Center, Jennifer Pellegrine, has been Director since 2020. The unique features of CLC are its multi-grade classrooms and its emphasis on both strong academics and social and emotional growth.

Tierra Linda Middle School is a middle school in San Carlos, California, United States, founded in 1953. It is one of two middle schools within the San Carlos Elementary School District, and since 2018, has served students in grades 6–8. Due to changing enrollment, the school was closed in 1982, but reopened in 2000. The school is known for its diverse and award-winning music program. It shares a campus with Mariposa Upper Elementary School and San Carlos Charter Learning Center.

Belmont station is a Caltrain station in Belmont, California that replaced the Southern Pacific Railroad station nearby. It is served by local and limited service trains. The modern elevated station was constructed in 1997 as part of a grade separation project.

Carlmont High School is a public high school in Belmont, California, United States serving grades 9–12 as part of the Sequoia Union High School District. Carlmont is a California Distinguished School. Carlmont was founded in 1952 as "a school within a school" at Sequoia High School, with four hundred fifty freshman and sophomore students.

Belmont Creek is a creek in San Mateo County, California. The creek rises in Belmont and flows east under the Bayshore Freeway entering the Belmont Slough in Redwood Shores.

Area code 650 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the San Francisco Bay Area in the U.S. state of California. It was split from area code 415 on August 2, 1997, and includes most of San Mateo County (except the northernmost portion), part of San Francisco, and the northwestern portion of Santa Clara County including Palo Alto, Mountain View, and Los Altos. Prior to October 2021, area code 650 had telephone numbers assigned for the central office code 988. In 2020, 988 was designated nationwide as a dialing code for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, which created a conflict for exchanges that permit seven-digit dialing. This area code was therefore scheduled to transition to ten-digit dialing by October 24, 2021.

The Nathanial Brittan Party House, also known as Nathaniel Brittan Party House, Brittan Party House, Brittan Lodge, is located at 125 Dale Avenue in San Carlos, California, and was built in 1872. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
