Arvine Heights Historic District is a national historic district located at Rochester, Monroe County, New York. The district encompasses 61 contributing buildings (37 residences) in an exclusively residential section of Rochester. The district developed between about 1920 and 1942, and includes residential buildings in a variety of architectural styles including Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman. The dwellings reflect modest designs directed toward a middle-class clientele in a newly developing area of Rochester's Nineteenth Ward.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

The Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) is a scientific research facility which is part of the University of Rochester's south campus, located in Brighton, New York. The lab was established in 1970 with operations jointly funded by the United States Department of Energy, the University of Rochester and the New York State government. The Laser Lab was commissioned to investigate high-energy physics involving the interaction of extremely intense laser radiation with matter. Scientific experiments at the facility emphasize inertial confinement, direct drive, laser-induced fusion, fundamental plasma physics and astrophysics using the Omega Laser Facility. In June 1995, OMEGA became the world's highest-energy ultraviolet laser. The lab shares its building with the Center for Optoelectronics and Imaging and the Center for Optics Manufacturing. The Robert L. Sproull Center for Ultra High Intensity Laser Research was opened in 2005 and houses the OMEGA EP laser, which was completed in May 2008. More than 270 Ph.D.s have been awarded as of 2022 for research conducted at the LLE. During summer months the lab sponsors local-area high school juniors in research at the laboratory, with most of their projects led by senior scientists at the lab.

Frederick Douglass - Greater Rochester International Airport (IATA: ROC, ICAO: KROC, FAA LID: ROC) is a public airport located within the City of Rochester, three miles (4.8 km) southwest of Downtown, in Monroe County, New York, United States. It is owned and operated by Monroe County. The airport is home to the 642nd Aviation Support Battalion, part of the 42nd Infantry Division.

Park Point at RIT (originally referred to as "Collegetown" or "College Park") is an apartment complex and commercial enterprise on the northeast corner of Rochester Institute of Technology's campus in Rochester, New York. The property was initially being leased to Wilmorite Properties, until it was bought by American Campus Communities in 2013.

Mohawk Airlines Flight 112 was a scheduled passenger flight from Rochester-Monroe Airport in Rochester, New York to Newark International Airport in Newark, New Jersey. On July 2, 1963, the aircraft operating the flight, a Martin 4-0-4 with a total of 15,970 operational hours, crashed during takeoff. The accident killed 7 people (2 crewmen and 5 passengers) and injured 36. Flight 112 attempted to take off on Rochester's runway 28 into a heavy thunderstorm. The co-pilot was unable to maintain control of the aircraft, and it fell to earth two minutes after takeoff. The plane struck the ground left wing-first. It then cartwheeled wing-over-wing and caught fire. The co-pilot was flying the plane from the left seat in violation of company policy. Both pilots working together were unable to control the plane, as the wind had shifted from a headwind to a tailwind. The Civil Aeronautics Board found the cause of the accident to be the pilot's decision to take off in bad weather, and cited the weather itself as a contributing factor.

Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is a charter school in Rochester, New York serving students from the 6th to 12th grade. It became Rochester's first charter high school when it was approved by the New York State Board of Regents in 2007.

Simon Business School (formerly known as the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration) is the business school of the University of Rochester. It is located on the university's River Campus in Rochester, New York. It was renamed after William E. Simon (1927–2000), the 63rd United States Secretary of the Treasury, in 1986. The school's present dean is Sevin Yeltekin. Simon Business School offers full-time, part-time, and executive (based in either Rochester or Switzerland) Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs, as well as Master of Science (MS) programs. The school is home to substantial academic research enterprises and a PhD program in several business disciplines.

Inglewood and Thurston Historic District is a national historic district located at Rochester, Monroe County, New York. The district encompasses 141 contributing buildings (78 primary buildings) in a predominantly residential section of Rochester. The district developed between about 1920 and 1927, and includes buildings in a variety of architectural styles including Colonial Revival, Arts and Crafts, American Foursquare, and Tudor Revival. The dwellings reflect designs directed toward a middle-class clientele in a newly developing area of Rochester's Nineteenth Ward. Located in the district is the former Emmanuel Lutheran Church (now the Ebenezer Baptist Church) and the Rochester Presbyterian Home.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Sibley–Elmdorf Historic District is a national historic district located at Rochester, Monroe County, New York. The district encompasses 840 contributing buildings (486 primary buildings) and 1 contributing site in a predominantly residential section of Rochester. The district developed between about 1904 and 1963, and includes buildings in a variety of architectural styles including Classical Revival, Colonial Revival, Gothic Revival, Tudor Revival, Mission Revival, American Foursquare and Bungalow / American Craftsman. The dwellings reflect designs directed toward a middle-class clientele in a newly developing area of Rochester's Nineteenth Ward. Located in the district is the Westminster Presbyterian Church (now the New Life Fellowship Church, 1915), West High School (now known as the Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School, 1905) by Rochester architect J. Foster Warner, Walter Spencer Public School #16 (c. 1911), and Aberdeen Square Park (c. 1915).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Rush Rhees Library is the main academic library of the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. It is one of the most visible and recognizable landmarks on the university's River Campus. Construction began in 1927 with the other original River Campus buildings and the library was dedicated in 1930. It is named after Benjamin Rush Rhees, the university's third president. A major addition was added in 1970, which now houses the main computer lab, additional stacks and office space. Rush Rhees is the flagship of the River Campus Libraries System, which holds about 3 million volumes. The library featured an elevator completely original from 1930 until 2021 when it received a full modernization.
