Frederick Douglass - Greater Rochester International Airport (IATA: ROC, ICAO: KROC, FAA LID: ROC) is a public airport located within the City of Rochester, three miles (4.8 km) southwest of Downtown, in Monroe County, New York, United States. It is owned and operated by Monroe County. The airport is home to the 642nd Aviation Support Battalion, part of the 42nd Infantry Division.

Franklin Hinchey House is a historic home located at Gates in Monroe County, New York. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame cruciform structure constructed in 1870 in the Gothic Revival style with picturesque Italianate elements. The property includes three acres of farmland, cabbage barn, and incubator house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Located in the district is the former Emmanuel Lutheran Church (now the Ebenezer Baptist Church) and the Rochester Presbyterian Home.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Black Creek is a tributary of the Genesee River that runs for 46 miles (74 km) in western New York, United States. The creek begins in Middlebury in Wyoming County and runs north for roughly the first half of its course and east for the other half, eventually joining the Genesee River in Chili, Monroe County. Its drainage area spans around 202 square miles (520 km2), which is largely rural and agricultural. As of 2000, 40,000 residents lived in the creek's drainage area.

Located in the district is the Westminster Presbyterian Church (now the New Life Fellowship Church, 1915), West High School (now known as the Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School, 1905) by Rochester architect J. Foster Warner, Walter Spencer Public School #16 (c. 1911), and Aberdeen Square Park (c. 1915).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Gates is a census-designated place in the town of Gates, Monroe County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 4,910, out of 28,400 in the entire town of Gates. The CDP is in central Monroe County, in the eastern part of the town of Gates. It is bordered to the east by the city of Rochester and to the north by the North Gates CDP. Interstate 490 passes through the center of the Gates CDP and intersects Interstate 390 in the eastern part of the CDP. New York State Route 33 (Buffalo Road) forms the southern edge of the community, and State Route 31 (Lyell Avenue) forms part of the northern edge. Downtown Rochester is 6 miles (10 km) to the east. The hamlet of Gates Center occupies the southern half of the CDP (south of I-490), and Gates Chili High School is in the western part of the CDP.
