Tyler Park is a neighborhood three miles (5 km) southeast of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, USA. It is considered a part of a larger area of Louisville called The Highlands. Near the middle of the neighborhood is a city park of the same name, and many houses in the neighborhood feature park views. The neighborhood boundaries are St Louis Cemetery to the north, Bardstown Road to the east, Eastern Parkway to the south and Beargrass Creek to the west.

The Cherokee Triangle is a historic neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, known for its large homes displaying an eclectic mix of architectural styles. Its boundaries are Bardstown Road to the southwest, Cherokee Park and Eastern Parkway to the southeast, and Cave Hill Cemetery to the north, and is considered a part of a larger area of Louisville called The Highlands. It is named for nearby Cherokee Park, a 409 acres (1.7 km2) park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the designer of New York's Central Park.

St. James Church is a historic Roman Catholic church located at 1826 Edenside Avenue in the Highlands section of Louisville, Kentucky. March 1, 1982, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as St. James Roman Catholic Church, Rectory, and School.

Highland Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian church located in Louisville, Kentucky, US. The church was founded in 1873 with a meeting in a local physician's home; the current sanctuary was built in 1888. The church is one of the most prominent in the city of Louisville and sends many missionaries abroad every year. The headquarters of the Presbyterian Church is in Louisville and so, in recent years, Highland has taken on a bigger role in national ministry. Former Pastor Cynthia Campbell was an outspoken advocate for social justice issues in the city and has contributed her thoughts on the topic in The Courier-Journal.

The Schuster Building is a mixed-use structure at the intersection of Bardstown Road and Eastern Parkway in the Highlands area of Louisville, Kentucky. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 as a "significant example" of Colonial Revival architecture as applied to commercial buildings, the Schuster building is one of Louisville's most prominent examples of that style. The Colonial Revival style was part of an emerging trend in American design at the time the building was completed in 1927, and was later popularized by the restoration of Colonial Williamsburg. In the years following the completion of the Schuster Building, several prominent structures in the same style were built in Louisville, such as the University of Louisville Administration Building in 1929, and Norton and Mullins halls of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1930.

Louisville Collegiate School is a Junior Kindergarten - 12th grade, co-ed independent school located in the historic Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The school enrolls 804 students at 2427 Glenmary Avenue.

Cave Hill Cemetery is a 296-acre (1.20 km2) Victorian era National Cemetery and arboretum located at Louisville, Kentucky. Its main entrance is on Baxter Avenue and there is a secondary one on Grinstead Drive. It is the largest cemetery by area and number of burials in Louisville. Cave Hill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Cave Hill National Cemetery, containing military graves, is also on the National Register, added in 1998.

Lynn's Paradise Cafe was a restaurant in The Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. It had been open since 1991, originally in the Crescent Hill neighborhood, until it moved into a former grocery store in The Highlands. It had been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Throwdown! with Bobby Flay on Food Network, where Lynn Winter, founder and chef, defeated Bobby Flay in a breakfast contest. It was known for its kitschy style in both decor and food. Both the exterior and interior were painted vividly and decorated eclectically. It was well known for its breakfast (fruit-sauced tropical French toast, Bourbon-ball French toast, and scrambled eggs with kielbasa whipped in are typical Lynn's fare), but also served lunch and dinner. Lynn's Paradise Cafe hosted many events throughout the year, and was especially busy for a New Year's Eve and New Year's Day pajama party. It sponsored the "Ugly Lamp Contest" at the Kentucky State Fair annually. It started when Winter was asked to judge the "Costume Poultry Show" at the Kentucky State Fair sponsored by Morton H Sachs investment manager of The Fairmont Fund; she felt that she could come up with something new. The restaurant closed for good on January 12, 2013, in the midst of a controversy over new tipping policies at the restaurant, and accusations of labor law violations.

The Episcopal Church of the Advent is located in Louisville, Kentucky. The congregation began as a Sunday school of Louisville's Christ Church Cathedral in 1870 which met in a store at Broadway and Baxter Avenue and was called "Sunday School of the Advent". In 1872 it moved to Rubel Avenue near Broadway, and was formally organized as a congregation in 1874.As the Cherokee Triangle neighborhood of Louisville was being subdivided, the creation of East Broadway (soon renamed Cherokee Parkway) cut off a triangle of land that belong to Cave Hill Cemetery, which rendered it useless for burials in the carefully planned facility, so the cemetery company sold the land to the Church of the Advent.The congregation hired Frederick C. Withers of New York to construct the church building, and the cornerstone was laid in 1887. The church was built in a late Victorian style, with limestone walls, a slate roof, a series of gables and a tower. The first service was held on April 15, 1888, two Sundays after Easter that year.When Cherokee Triangle was added to the National Register of Historic Places as a district, the Church of the Advent was described in the listing document as "the architectural and historical keystone of the district".The Rev. Dr. Timothy Mitchell, a Louisville native, was installed as Rector in May 2008.

The Highlands is an area in Louisville, Kentucky which contains a high density of nightclubs, eclectic businesses, and many upscale and fast food restaurants. It is centered along a three-mile (5 km) stretch of Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue (US 31E/US 150) and is so named because it sits atop a ridge between the middle and south forks of Beargrass Creek. The commercial area extends from the intersection of Bardstown Road and Taylorsville Road/Trevillian Way in the south, to the intersection of Baxter Avenue and Lexington Road in the north, a length of 3.2 miles (5.1 km). A 1⁄2-mile (800 m) section of the nearby Barret Avenue also contains many similar businesses. The residential area is separated from other adjacent areas like Germantown and Crescent Hill by the south and north forks of Beargrass Creek. The middle fork runs through Cherokee Park, and the south fork divides Germantown from Tyler Park, after flowing past several cemeteries and undeveloped forests downstream from Joe Creason Park. Due to its large collection of night clubs and restaurants, it is locally known as "Restaurant Row".The grid of streets east and west of Bardstown Road are mostly single-family residences and range from working-class neighborhoods to some of the most expensive streets in Louisville, such as Spring Drive. In 2000, the Highlands had a population of nearly 33,000.
