Discovery Peak

Rose Peak is a peak in the Diablo Range of California and is the officially listed highest point in Alameda County, though other sources claim the high point is actually nearby Discovery Peak.

Oak Ridge in Santa Clara County, California, is a ridge forming the east canyon wall of Arroyo Hondo, which drains into Calaveras Reservoir. Black Mountain is its highest point. The first known white settlers on Oak Ridge were the Parks family, who ran cattle on the ridge. Now owned by the San Francisco Water Department, the ridge is private property and is off-limits to most people.

The peak is visible from the Mount Hamilton and Monument Peak.

Lake Del Valle is a storage reservoir located 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Livermore, in Alameda County, California. It is within Del Valle Regional Park.

KKIQ (101.7 FM) is a commercial adult contemporary radio station located in Pleasanton, California, broadcasting to the East Bay area with a main focus on Southern Alameda County. Their slogan is "Your Hometown Station!". KKIQ is owned by Alpha Media, which acquired the station in 2015 and also owns KKDV 92.1 FM in Walnut Creek and KUIC 95.3 FM in Vacaville. Both KKIQ and KKDV operate from studios located in Pleasanton near Stoneridge Mall, and KKIQ has a transmitter site southeast of Livermore. It also utilizes two boosters to boost coverage: one in Hayward and one in Tracy.

Arroyo Hondo is a northwestward-flowing 13.0-mile-long (20.9 km) river in Santa Clara County, California, United States, that lies east of Milpitas. The area is privately owned by the San Francisco Water Department and is closed to public access because of its usage as drinking water. Bounded to the east by Oak Ridge and to the west by Poverty Ridge, Arroyo Hondo empties into the Calaveras Reservoir where it joins Calaveras Creek. It is formed by the confluence of Smith Creek and Isabel Creek which drain the west and east slopes of Mount Hamilton, respectively.

Mendenhall Springs is a set of springs that was turned into a resort in Alameda County, California. It is located 9 miles (14 km) southeast of Livermore, at an elevation of 1818 feet (554 m). William M. Mendenhall established a health spa here in the 1870s, which by 1909 had accommodations for 75 people, from springs that had been diverted through tunnels originally bored for gold prospecting.

Poverty Ridge is a ridge in unincorporated Santa Clara County, California, east of Milpitas. Calaveras Valley lies to its west, while its east side slopes down to meet Arroyo Hondo. Creeks that originate on Poverty Ridge include Calaveras and Penitencia Creeks.

Mud Springs, is a spring on Crane Ridge located just above the Arroyo Mocho in Alameda County, California. Elevation of the spring is 1,427 feet (435 meters).

The 2007 Alum Rock earthquake occurred on October 30 at 8:04 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time in Alum Rock Park in San Jose, in the U.S. state of California. It measured 5.6 on the moment magnitude scale and had a maximum Mercalli intensity of VI (Strong). The event was then the largest in the San Francisco Bay Area since the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, which measured 6.9 on the moment magnitude scale, but was later surpassed by the 2014 South Napa earthquake. Ground shaking from the Alum Rock quake reached San Francisco and Oakland and other points further north. Sixty thousand felt reports existed far beyond Santa Rosa, as far north as Eugene, Oregon.

Calaveras Creek is a northward-flowing stream in Alameda and Santa Clara counties of California. It runs for 8.5 miles (13.7 km), starting from Poverty Ridge, passing through Calaveras Reservoir, and emptying into Alameda Creek east of Fremont, California. Its main tributary is Arroyo Hondo.
