Savski gaj

Church of the Holy Angels, Zagreb (Croatian: Župna crkva svetih anđela u Zagrebu) is a Catholic parish church located in the neighbourhood Savski gaj of Zagreb, Croatia.

The Remetinec Roundabout (Croatian: Remetinečki rotor, Zapadni rotor or simply Rotor) is a large roundabout in the Novi Zagreb – zapad part of Zagreb, Croatia. Having three lanes, with an outer radius of 74 metres (243 ft), it connects Adriatic Bridge, Jadranska Avenue, Dubrovnik Avenue, and Remetinec Road. Inside traffic has the right of way, but the rightmost approaching lanes from the north, east and southwest are separated from the exiting traffic, reducing congestion for those three immediate right turns. The roundabout itself is elevated from the ground level and two tram lines and several pedestrian tracks pass underneath it. More than 100,000 vehicles per day pass through the roundabout, which is twice its normal capacity. Congestion is particularly severe during the rush hour. Due to the volume of traffic, accidents are almost an everyday occurrence. More than 2,700 accidents with 216 injuries were registered in the roundabout between 1997 and 2006, making it one of the city's most dangerous intersections.A traffic study commissioned by the City of Zagreb in 2007 proposed five reconstruction options. The option proposed in 2009 and ultimately accepted is based on construction of two east-west bound tunnels, reducing the load on the roundabout to 38,000 vehicles per day. The reconstruction began in the summer of 2018 and is expected to be open for traffic on 9 January 2020.

Remetinec is a neighborhood in the Novi Zagreb – zapad city district of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. It is located south of the Remetinec Roundabout and Lanište, west of Trokut and the railway triangle and west of Blato. It has a population of 5673(2021). Zagreb Fair and Zagreb Hippodrome are located nearby Remetinec.

Novi Zagreb – zapad (Croatian pronunciation: [nôʋiː zǎːgreb zâːpad], "Novi Zagreb – west") has the status of a city district (Croatian: gradska četvrt) in Zagreb, Croatia and as such has an elected council. According to the 2011 Croatian census, Novi Zagreb – zapad had 58,103 residents.

Trokut (English: Triangle) is a quarter in Novi Zagreb - zapad (New Zagreb - West). It is surrounded by five other quarters: Kajzerica (north), Remetinec (southwest), Sveta Klara (south), Trnsko (southeast, east) and Savski gaj (west). The quarter's name comes from the word triangle, because of the intersection of three railroads, which has an isosceles triangle shape. Trokut is located in the middle of the intersection. It is administratively part of Savski gaj.The quarter is made of more than 500 houses. Trokut can be accessed from Trnsko, Savski gaj and Sveta Klara. Dubrovnik Avenue passes through the northern part of the triangle, but remains unconnected by road to the rest.

Lanište is a neighborhood in the Novi Zagreb - zapad city district in Zagreb, Croatia. It is located along the Jadranska Avenue, south of the Sava River, across from the neighbourhood of Jarun. It has a population of 3,468.Its main thoroughfares are Jadranska Avenue, Lanište Road and Remetinečka Road. It is the site of the Arena Zagreb, and Arena shopping center. The area was neglected for a long time, but in the last few years many new apartment buildings were built, and real estate prices have risen considerably. The neighborhood is badly connected to the Zagreb tram system, with residents having to walk to Western Rotary to board the trams. A tram line extension together with a new rail yard located near Blato, southwest of Lanište, is planned.

The Fourth Grammar School (Croatian: IV. gimnazija, Četvrta gimnazija) is a public high school in Zagreb, Croatia specialising in languages. It opened its doors on 8 November 1934. Today it has about 555 students in 21 classes. It is situated at the Žarko Dolinar Street 9. Together with the regular school curriculum, the school also offers bilingual programs in English, German and French. IV Grammar School is among the 10 best grammar schools in the country according to the results of the Croatian national exam. The principal is Sonja Kamčev-Bačani. Getting into the school needs 76 points out of 80. The points are calculated from primary school grades, as well as competitions and extra criteria.

Trnsko is a neighbourhood of Zagreb, Croatia, located south of Dubrovnik Avenue in Novi Zagreb - zapad. The population is 5,331 (2011).Trnsko was one of Novi Zagreb's first neighbourhoods constructed in early 1960s. The streets have no names, but the orientation is easy - Trnsko 1 is on the north and Trnsko 49 on the far south of the neighbourhood.

Kajzerica is a neighborhood located in the Novi Zagreb – zapad city district of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. It is located west of Bundek Lake (Jezero Bundek) and east of the Western Rotary and Adriatic Bridge. It has a population of 4,387 (2011).Zagreb Fair and Zagreb Hippodrome are located in Kajzerica. Kajzerica houses the south end of the old pedestrian-only Sava Bridge. Roads provide access to the Dubrovnik Avenue and the Adriatic Bridge and the neighborhood is served by Zagrebački električni tramvaj tram lines 7 and 14 that travel through Novi Zagreb.

On 10 March 2022 at 23:01 CET, an unidentified Soviet-made Tupolev Tu-141 reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. With an unidentified operator and unknown destination (as of April 2022), the origin of the drone is presumed to be connected to military actions during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
