Bingen, Washington

Bingen–White Salmon is a train station in Bingen, Washington served by Amtrak. The unstaffed station is part of a larger BNSF dispatch center located one block south of Stuben Street (SR 14) in Bingen. The building is orangish-yellow in color. Rail service through Bingen and nearby White Salmon began on December 15, 1907, when regular service began on the Portland and Seattle Railway. The station was named after both Bingen and nearby White Salmon by a court order in 1910, and formally introduced in 1930 by the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway. The current station was built in 1992.

White Salmon is a city in Klickitat County, Washington, United States. It is located in the Columbia River Gorge. The population was 2,193 at the 2000 census and increased 1.4% to 2,224 at the 2010 census.

Koberg Beach State Recreation Site is a state park in Hood River County, Oregon United States, administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. The park offers a wayside rest area for west bound traffic on Interstate 84. For years, the area was owned by the Koberg family who developed the beach and built a rustic style dance hall which was popular with people from nearby Hood River. The Highway Department acquired the land in 1953 and removed the dance hall the next year. In 1962, an entrance road, a parking area and other facilities became available.

KBNO-FM (89.3 FM) was a radio station in White Salmon, Washington, United States. It was supported by donations. The station's license was cancelled by the Federal Communications Commission on September 30, 2014, for failure to file a renewal application.

The Hood River Bridge is a truss bridge with a vertical lift that spans the Columbia River between Hood River, Oregon and White Salmon, Washington. It connects Interstate 84/U.S. Route 30 on the Oregon side with Washington State Route 14. The bridge is currently the second oldest road bridge across the Columbia between Washington and Oregon. It was built by the Oregon-Washington Bridge Company and opened on December 9, 1924. The original name was the Waucoma Interstate Bridge. Construction of the Bonneville Dam 23 miles (37 km) downstream forced the bridge to be altered in 1938 to accommodate the resulting elevated river levels. On December 12, 1950, the Port of Hood River purchased the bridge from the Oregon-Washington Bridge Co. for $800,000. The bridge is operated as a toll bridge by the Port of Hood River. Currently the tolls are set to $2.00 for a passenger car, with $1.00 for each additional axle, and $1.00 for motorcycles. Bicycles and pedestrians are prohibited from crossing the bridge. 20 piers are used to support the total length of 4,418 ft (1347 m). When closed the vertical waterway clearance is 67 ft (20m). This increases to 148 ft (45 m) when the bridge is open at a river level of 75', which typically happens once or twice a month. The horizontal waterway clearance of the lift span is 246 ft (75 m). The bridge has weight restrictions: Total Gross Weight Limit: 80,000 lbs, each single axle: 20,000 lbs, tandem axles: 34,000 lbs. Vehicles higher than 14′ 7″ are restricted to travel on the bridge. It is located at river mile 169, between Bridge of the Gods at RM 148 and The Dalles Bridge at RM 191.

The Columbia Gorge AVA is an American Viticultural Area which includes land surrounding the Columbia River Gorge, straddling the border between Oregon and Washington. Due to the significant gradations of climate and geography found in the gorge, this AVA exhibits a wide range of terroir in a relatively small region; it is marketed as a "world of wine in 40 miles".

Columbia High School was named a Bronze Medal School in the 2008 U.S. News/SchoolMatters Best High School ratings. The Hood River, formerly known as Dog River, is a tributary of the Columbia River in northwestern Oregon, United States. Approximately 25 miles (40 km) long from its mouth to its farthest headwaters on the East Fork, the river descends from wilderness areas in the Cascade Range on Mount Hood and flows through the agricultural Hood River Valley to join the Columbia River in the Columbia River Gorge. It rises in three separate forks on the north side of Mount Hood, within the Mount Hood Wilderness in Hood River County which is approximately 50 miles (80 km) east of Portland.

The Mount Hood Hotel Annex is a historic hotel building in Hood River, Oregon, United States. The brick building occupies a 100 by 100 feet (30 m × 30 m) lot at the northwest corner of Oak and First Streets in Hood River. It was completed in 1912 as an expansion of the Mt. Hood Hotel on the next lot. The original hotel was built in 1881. The original hotel was expanded after 1886, to three stories. It had a mansard observation tower and an encircling double veranda. The original building fronted on first street and the Oregon-Washington Railroad and Navigation Company passenger station and the Columbia River just north. As travel moved to automobile travel, the premier hotel to the north, took a back seat to the annex. The original building was closed after 1926 and then removed circa 1930.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

The Hood River station is a historic train station in Hood River, Oregon, currently serving the heritage Mount Hood Railroad. The station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 as the Oregon–Washington Railroad and Navigation Company Passenger Station. The station was built by the Oregon–Washington Railroad and Navigation Company, a subsidiary of the Union Pacific Railroad, in 1911. Amtrak's Pioneer also used the station and nearby area from 1977–1997.

The Roe–Parker House is a historic house in Hood River, Oregon, United States.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It was relocated from its original site adjacent to the Hood River Library in 2002, to make way for expansion of the library building. It was removed from the National Register in 2018.
