St Chad's Church is on Chester Road (the A41) in the civil parish of Tushingham-cum-Grindley, Macefen and Bradley, Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Malpas, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the diocese of Chester. Its benefice is combined with those of St Michael, Marbury, and St Mary, Whitewell. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Macefen is a former civil parish, now in the parishes of Tushingham-cum-Grindley, Macefen and Bradley and No Man's Heath and District, in the unitary authority area of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Its area is now part of the civil parishes of Tushingham-cum-Grindley, Macefen and Bradley and No Man's Heath and District. Macefen lies 2 miles (3.2 km) east of the village of Malpas and 5 miles (8.0 km) north west of Whitchurch, Salop. Part of the village of No Man's Heath was within the northern boundary of Macefen. Its name is thought to possibly be an anglicisation of an older Welsh placename Maes-y-ffin, "the open field (maes) at the boundary (ffin)". Macefen was a slightly curious parish in that it scarcely appears in gazetteers. Under the manorial system Macefen was a manor of the Barony of Malpas, and was for many years part of the estates of the Grosvenor family. Later it was a township of the ancient parish of Malpas, in 1866 Macefen became a separate civil parish. Kelly's Directory of Cheshire, 1914 lists Macefen under Tushingham cum Grindley thus: "Macefen (or Maesfen) is a small township in the Whitchurch union, 2 miles south from Malpas station. The Hon. Mrs. Algernon R. Parker, who has a residence here [at grid reference SJ518466 on the north side of Bradley Lane], is lady of the manor and sole landowner." It never had its own church but was served by adjacent churches. The civil parish was abolished in 2015 to form "Tushingham-cum-Grindley, Macefen and Bradley" and "No Man's Heath and District".

St Chad's Chapel (often referred to as Old St Chad's) is an isolated church in the scattered community of Tushingham in the civil parish of Tushingham-cum-Grindley, Macefen and Bradley, Cheshire, England. The only approach to the chapel is on footpaths across fields from the A41 road. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.

Tushingham cum Grindley is a former civil parish, now in the parish of Tushingham-cum-Grindley, Macefen and Bradley, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The parish contained the village of Tushingham and the hamlet of Bell o' th' Hill. According to the 2001 UK census, the total population of the civil parish was 166, rising to 187 at the 2011 Census. The civil parish was abolished in 2015 to form Tushingham-cum-Grindley, Macefen and Bradley.

No Man's Heath is a village in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Its name has historically also been spelt Nomansheath and Noman's Heath, the latter being the version formerly favoured by the General Post Office. It lies 2 miles (3.2 km) east of the village of Malpas and 5 miles (8 km) north-west of Whitchurch, Shropshire. Originally on the A41 road, there is now a bypass, which opened in July 2001. Bickleywood is a very small settlement about 1000 yards (1 km) to the east. The settlement of No Man's Heath was, historically, largely within the boundaries of Macefen civil parish until 2015 boundary changes which created the civil parish of No Man's Heath and District. There is no church in the village, due to the proximity of the church in Tushingham. However, there are The Wheatsheaf Inn, a disused non-conformist chapel and a small telephone exchange (which was called "Noman's Heath" in the days when exchanges had names) in close proximity to one another. The southern section of the 30-mile Sandstone Trail footpath passes just east of the village, while the 200-mile Marches Way footpath passes just south. The Sustrans Regional Route 70 cycleway passes through the village, running out from Malpas. Just over two miles east of the village is the 19th-century Cholmondeley Castle and gardens. Just to the north is the well-preserved Iron Age hillfort of Maiden Castle, spectacularly sited above the Dee valley. The Whitchurch and Tattenhall Railway used to pass within a 1000 yards (a kilometre) of the village but the nearest station was Malpas railway station which was nearly three kilometres away and actually in Hampton Heath.

Tushingham-cum-Grindley, Macefen and Bradley is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It was created in 2015, under the terms of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, from the civil parish of Tushingham cum Grindley with parts of the historic civil parishes of Macefen and Bradley.As part of the boundary reorganisation, a small area in the north of Macefen was incorporated in the civil parish of No Man's Heath and District, and a small area to the west of Bradley, forming a near-exclave between Malpas, Wychough and Chidlow, was transferred to Malpas.The area of the parish is largely farmland, but includes the scattered settlements of Tushingham, Bell o' th' Hill and Bradley Green.

Bell o' th' Hill is a small, scattered settlement in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, close to the border with Shropshire. Until 2015 it was in the civil parish of Tushingham cum Grindley: it is now in the civil parish of Tushingham-cum-Grindley, Macefen and Bradley. The settlement is adjacent to the A41 road north of Whitchurch, and an earlier line of the main road passes through it. The unusual place-name has been supposed to be a back-formation from that of the historic "Bell on the Hill" inn, but the inn name may in fact have been suggested by the earlier forms "Belle Hill", recorded in 1610, and "Bellow Hill", noted 1675, possibly an Old English name from belg and hläw ("rounded hill"). The Bell was built in 1677 by a London grocer, Edmund Nevitt. Now named the Blue Bell, it was Grade II listed in 1967.A document of 1314 refers to an assart between "le Castelward" and Tushingham Hall, which has been taken to suggest the presence of a castle or motte here.

Tushingham Hall is a country house in Tushingham, Cheshire, England. Formerly a moated farmhouse, it was remodelled in the early 19th century for Daniel Vawdrey, retaining many 17th-century features. It is constructed in rendered brick with slate roofs. Its architectural style is Tudor Revival. The house is in two storeys with a symmetrical entrance front. The centre of the front is recessed and contains a canted open porch with three Tudor arches. Above this is a mullioned window containing two sashes. On each side is a similar window in both storeys, those in the upper storey being smaller than those below. Above the window over the porch is a shaped gable containing a wreath, and the rest of the front is crenellated. The interior contains a 17th-century staircase originally in Dearnford Hall, Staffordshire. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Bickley is a village in the parish of No Man's Heath and District in Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire, England. According to the 2001 Census it had a population of 498, that reduced to 481 at the 2011 census. The parish included the villages of Bickley Town and Bickley Moss. Bickley was a township in the parish of Malpas. In 1866 Bickley became a civil parish and on 1 April 2015 it was abolished to form "No Mans Heath and District".The name is Anglo-Saxon in origin, and relates to bees.The parish church is St Wenefrede's, a grade-II-listed sandstone building designed by John Douglas and Daniel Porter Fordham.

Hampton Old Hall is a country house in the parish of No Man's Heath and District, Cheshire, England. It is dated 1591, and was built for the Bromley family. There have been subsequent additions and alterations. Figueirdo and Treuherz describe it as "a puzzling and ambitious house, perhaps never completed". The main block is the earliest section, and consists of a close-studded timber-framed range with three gables. Adjoining it is a 17th-century timber-framed porch. Behind the porch is a south wing in brick and stone. The architectural historian Nikolaus Pevsner comments "there must be quite an interesting story behind all this". The house has been "restored and furnished ... in a solid and traditional farmhouse manor". It is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building. A timber-framed barn to the north of the hall, dating from the 17th century, is listed at Grade II.

Agden is a small civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is the site of Agden Hall. The parish has a parish meeting rather than a parish council. The area is mostly made up of farmland, with just a small population now having residence in the area. At the 2001 census it had a population of 42, compared to a peak of 98 reported in 1851.Agden is located just 3 miles outside of the market town Whitchurch, and 2.5 miles from Malpas. In 1870, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Agden "a township in Malpas parish, Cheshire; 3 miles NW of Whitchurch. Acres, 548. Real property, £699. Pop., 110. Houses, 21"

Grindley Brook Halt was a railway halt in the village of Grindley Brook, Shropshire on the Whitchurch and Tattenhall Railway or Chester-Whitchurch Branch Line. Nearby the line crossed the Shropshire Union Canal and the A41. It was open between 1937 and 1957.
