Peover Inferior

St Oswald's Church is in the village of Lower Peover, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield and the deanery of Knutsford. Its benefice is combined with that of St Lawrence, Over Peover.

Lower Peover is a village in the civil parish of Nether Peover in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, approximately 6 miles east of Northwich and 4 miles south of Knutsford. The boundary of the civil parish deviates slightly to include Lower Peover in Nether Peover and not the adjacent civil parish of Peover Inferior. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 415.Lower Peover was also where George S. Patton held meetings with the senior members of the British war cabinet where they discussed plans about many military operations, most notably D-day.

Hulme Hall is a house on a moated site in the parish of Allostock, Cheshire, England. It originated in the 15th century, with additions and alterations in the 17th and 19th centuries. It is now a farmhouse. The house is constructed in brown brick, and has a roof of stone-slate and Welsh slate. It is in two storeys with an attic, and has an asymmetrical plan. The northeast front is the entrance front, and has three gabled bays. The garden front is on the northwest; it has five bays, two of which are stepped back in two stages. Most of the windows are two or three-light casements. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The bridge over the moat leading to the house is also listed at Grade II*. The moated site on which the house stands is a scheduled monument. It had been the home of the Grosvenor and Shakerley families, both of whom were prominent in Cheshire.The building was in a state of considerable disrepair for over a decade and had been on the official "Heritage at Risk" register before a £1 million restoration was completed in 2014.

Shakerley Mere is a lake and recreation area near Allostock, Cheshire, England. The mere is a former sand quarry, which flooded after extraction ended in the 1960s. Roughly triangular in shape, it bounded to the east by the M6 motorway and on the other two sides by the B5081 and B5082 roads. The site is managed for recreation by Cheshire West and Chester Council. There is a small amount of heathland, a designated site of biological importance, in the southeast corner, and a circular path runs around the perimeter of the lake, a distance of 0.9 miles (1.4 km).The fishing rights are leased by Lymm Angling Club (the lake is stocked with carp, bream, roach and perch). In 2014 a small number of introduced bighead and silver carp were removed from the water.

Allostock is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, about five miles south of Knutsford and 20 miles south of Manchester. Allostock was formerly in the borough of Vale Royal until it was abolished on 1 April 2009 to form Cheshire West and Chester. Allostock is located on an affluent of the river Weaver. It had a population of 816 according to the 2011 census data as well as 325 households.John Bartholemew wrote this in 1887 about Allostock: "Allostock, township, Great Budworth par., mid. Cheshire, 5 miles S. of Knutsford, 3017 ac., pop. 501."

Bexton is a civil parish to the south west of Knutsford, in the unitary authority of Cheshire East, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 9. At the 2011 Census the population remained minimal, and details are included in the civil parish of Peover Inferior. Bexton Hall is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building, and is the only listed building in the parish.

Peover is a rural area in Cheshire, England straddling the boundary of Cheshire West and Cheshire East. It is southwest of Chelford and northwest of Jodrell Bank. Peover is mentioned in the Domesday Book as "Pevre", from a Celtic word meaning "the bright one" referring to the Peover Eye. It contains the civil parishes of Peover Superior (also called Over Peover), Peover Inferior (also called Lower Peover) and Nether Peover, as well as the hamlet of Peover Heath. Peover Hall in Peover Superior is a Grade II* listed country house. The area is largely flat but has narrow incised gullies along streams. The brook called Peover Eye, which is formed from several springs and field drainage in the Peover area, runs north-northwest into the Wincham Brook a short distance northeast of Lostock Gralam.

Toft Hall is a 17th-century country house in Toft, Cheshire, England to which additions and alterations have been made during the following three centuries. It is constructed in brick, which has been rendered, with stone dressings and a slate roof. It is in two storeys, and has four-storey towers. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. Its stable block is listed separately at Grade II.Features of the estate include an arched stone bridge, a ha-ha, a woodland garden and parkland.

Bexton Hall is a country house in the village of Bexton to the southwest of Knutsford, Cheshire, England. It is a square, symmetrical house of five bays, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed in brick, with slate roofs, and has two storeys plus a basement. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is the only listed building in Bexton parish. The forecourt walls are included in the listing. The house originally had a cupola, but this is no longer present.

The parish has a population of only 81, and shares a parish council with the neighbouring parishes of Plumley and Bexton. At the 2011 Census the population of the civil parish remained less than 100. Plumley is a village and civil parish in Cheshire, England, with a population of 643 at the 2011 census.There are two public houses, The Golden Pheasant and The Smoker. Plumley railway station is on the Mid-Cheshire Line and has regular services to Manchester and Chester.
