Newnan High School

The Coweta County Courthouse is a historic government building located at Courthouse Square in the U.S. city of Newnan, Georgia, the seat of Coweta County. It was constructed in 1904, and is located along Broad Street to the south, Jefferson Street (northbound US 27 ALT/US 29) to the east, Washington Street to the north and LaGrange Street (southbound US 27 ALT/US 29) to the west. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is also a contributing property to the Newnan Commercial Historic District It is a Classical Revival-style building designed by architect James W. Golucke. It has an Ionic tetrastyle main entrance and Ionic di-style side entrances, all with full entablatures and pediments. It has stamped copper cornices and dome. Its walls are a dark brick laid in Flemish bond.The courthouse was renovated in 1975.

The Newnan Times-Herald, locally known as The Times-Herald, is a newspaper published in Newnan, Georgia. The paper was founded in 1865, which makes it the oldest news organization in Newnan and Coweta County, Georgia. It is a local newspaper and official legal organ for the community located about 30 miles south of Atlanta. On July 22, 1972, the Newnan Times-Herald received the National Newspaper Association award for "excellence in typography".

The Battle of Brown's Mill was fought July 30, 1864, in Coweta County, Georgia, during the Atlanta Campaign of the American Civil War. Edward M. McCook's Union cavalry, on a daring raid to sever communications and supply lines in south-central Georgia, was defeated near Newnan, Georgia, by Confederate forces under Joseph Wheeler. The failure of McCook's column and a concurrent ill-fated raid by George Stoneman forced William T. Sherman to lay siege to the city of Atlanta.

Piedmont Newnan Hospital (PNH) is a 136-bed, acute-care hospital located at its new location of 745 Poplar Rd in Newnan, Georgia, offering 24-hour emergency services, women's services, and general medical/surgical services.
