St Lawrence's Church, Stoak

Stoak is a small village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester; and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Within the parish, to the west of the village is the intersection of the M53 and M56 Motorways, and to its east the Shropshire Union Canal. The population of the parish as taken at the 2011 census was 171. The name of the parish was changed from the previous Stoke after a review of town and parish councils in the Cheshire West and Chester unitary authority. The parish should not be confused with a different Cheshire parish called Stoke, in Cheshire East. The parish church in the village, St Lawrence's Church, is a Grade II* listed building.

Wervin is a small village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is situated between Chester and Ellesmere Port, near the Shropshire Union Canal and the M53 motorway.

Croughton is a hamlet and civil parish on the outskirts and 3.5 miles (5.7 km) north of the city of Chester, and part of the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire. The Shropshire Union Canal runs through Croughton.

Gowy Meadows Nature Reserve is a 165.8-hectare (410-acre) nature reserve near Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England. It consists of low-lying meadows immediately to the east of the River Gowy near its confluence with the River Mersey, south of Stanlow Oil Refinery and west of the village of Thornton-le-Moors (from where a public footpath follows Thornton Brook across the site). It is managed by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust on behalf of the landowner, Shell UK, and was founded in 2002. The M56 motorway runs along the southern edge of the reserve.The reserve consists mainly of low-lying wet pasture divided by ditches. It is part of the Gowy & Mersey Washlands Living Landscape initiative. Before the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal the Gowy would have been tidal in this area and much of the reserve would have consisted of saltmarsh with brackish creeks, whose traces can still be seen in places.

The A5117 is a road in Cheshire, England. It runs between Shotwick (53.2374°N 2.9875°W / 53.2374; -2.9875 (A5117 road (western end))) and Helsby (53.2613°N 2.7814°W / 53.2613; -2.7814 (A5117 road (eastern end))) and connects the A550 at Woodbank to the M56. As such it forms a northerly bypass to Chester and a shorter route between the North West and North Wales than the A55.

Rake Hall is in Rake Lane, Little Stanney, Cheshire, England. It originated as a country house, the home of the Bunbury family (may have been spelled Bunburries), and was later converted into a public house and restaurant. The house was built in the 17th century, and later altered and expanded. The building is constructed in pebbledashed brick with stone dressings on a rendered plinth and slate roofs. It is mainly in two storeys. Most of the windows are casements, with a dormer at the front, and an oriel window in a canted bay at the rear. Rake Hall is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Little Stanney is a suburban village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is located on the Wirral Peninsula between Chester and Ellesmere Port. At the 2011 census the population of the parish was 198.

Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet is an outlet centre in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England. Located off Junction 10 of the M53, it is the largest outlet centre in the United Kingdom, with 145 stores and the first designer outlet village in Europe, when it opened in March 1995. It is run by McArthurGlen, and has a wide range of outlet stores run by large brands. As factory outlets, the stores primarily offer goods from previous seasons at discounted prices. It is a large local employer, with its own JobCentre Plus and retail training academy. Brands include, Bose, Levi's, Fila, Burberry, The North Face, Fred Perry, Calvin Klein Jeans, Karen Millen, Polo Ralph Lauren, Molton Brown, East, Diesel, Tommy Hilfiger, Warehouse, Whittard of Chelsea, Nike Factory Store, Joules and Henri lloyd. There is a leisure park, the Coliseum, located adjacent to the centre, with more shops, Tenpin bowling alley, a Vue Cinema, Freedome and Paradise Island Adventure Golf. Places to eat across the two sites include Frankie & Benny's, Miller and Carter Grill, Nando's, Chiquito, Prezzo, Harry Ramsden's, Spudulike, TGI Friday's, Giraffe, Pizza Express and Wagamama.

Chorlton Hall is a country house to the east of the village of Backford, Cheshire, England. It was formerly in the parish of Chorlton-by-Backford. The house was built probably in the middle of the 18th century. The original owners were the Stanley family of Hooton. In 1811 it was bought by the historian, George Ormerod, who wrote his History of Cheshire while living in the house. Ormerod sold the house in 1823 to the Wicksted family of Nantwich.It was extended in 1845–46 by the architect Sir James Picton for James Wickstead Swan. The plan of the house is U-shaped. It is rendered with slate roofs and rendered chimney stacks. The house stands on a stone plinth and is in 2½ storeys. Its front is in three bays; the central bay has three windows, the lateral bays project forward, are gabled, and each has one window. Internally, the dining room is plastered in Jacobean style, and the drawing room in Gothic style. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Chorlton-by-Backford is a former civil parish in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester and ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, approximately 3 mi (4.8 km) to the north of Chester. It was abolished in 2015 and merged into the civil parish of Backford.Chorlton Hall is a Grade II listed building within the area.In the 2001 census it had a population of 80, increasing to 124 at the 2011 census.The name is likely derived from the Old English words ceorl (meaning a free peasant) and tūn (a farmstead or settlement).

Picton is a hamlet and former civil parish, now in the parish of Mickle Trafford and District, situated near to Chester, in the borough of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The name derives partly from a personal noun, with Pica's-tūn, meaning Pica's settlement or farmstead. Lower Kinnerton was formerly a township in the parish of Plemonstall, in the Broxton Hundred, in 1866 Picton became a civil parish, its population was 138 in 1801, 155 in 1851, 141 in 1901, 119 in 1951 and 58 in the 2001 census. On 1 April 2015 the parish was abolished to form Mickle Trafford and District.In 1995, aerial photography showed evidence of a Roman practice fort in the parish.Picton Hall and Picton Hall Farmhouse are designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building. It is the only listed building in the parish.

St Mary's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the small village of Thornton-le-Moors, Cheshire, England. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and it is in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
