KUBR (1210 AM, "Radio Cristiana") is a Spanish language Christian radio station that serves the Rio Grande Valley border area. The station broadcasts from San Juan, Texas.

Donna North High School (DNHS) is a senior high school in unincorporated Hidalgo County, Texas, north of Donna and in the Rio Grande Valley region. It is a part of the Donna Independent School District. Places in its attendance boundary include: Muniz, and small sections of Donna and Alamo.

KJAV (104.9 FM, "Ultra 104.9") is a radio station licensed to serve Alamo, Texas, United States. The station is owned by Bi-Media, LLC, through licensee Bi-Media Licensee, LLC. The principals of Bi-Media are the Bichara family, which also owns the Núcleo Radio Monterrey cluster in Monterrey, Mexico. On January 18, 2016, KJAV dropped the Jack FM branding and rebranded as Ultra 104.9.

The Lower Rio Grande Valley (Spanish: Valle del Río Grande), commonly known as the Rio Grande Valley or locally as the Valley or RGV, is a region spanning the border of Texas and Mexico located in a floodplain of the Rio Grande near its mouth. The region includes the southernmost tip of South Texas and a portion of northern Tamaulipas, Mexico. It consists of the Brownsville, Harlingen, Weslaco, Pharr, McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, San Juan, and Rio Grande City metropolitan areas in the United States and the Matamoros, Río Bravo, and Reynosa metropolitan areas in Mexico. The area is generally bilingual in English and Spanish, with a fair amount of Spanglish due to the region's diverse history and transborder agglomerations It is home to some of the poorest cities in the nation, as well as many unincorporated, persistent poverty communities called colonias. A large seasonal influx occurs of "winter Texans" — people who come down from the north for the winter and then return north before summer arrives.

Edinburg High School (EHS) is a comprehensive public high school in Murillo (formerly Nurillo), a census-designated place in Hidalgo County, Texas, east of Edinburg. It is operated by the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District along with Edinburg North High School, Robert Vela High School, and Johnny G. Economedes High School. It has enrolled 2,927 students and 175 staff, with 35% holding advanced degrees; its enrollment is 95% Hispanic, 4% White, and 1% Asian/Pacific Islander. A performing arts complex was built at Edinburg in 2010, during which time similar facilities were built at the other high schools.Edinburg serves sections of southeastern Edinburg along with several census-designated places: Murillo, San Carlos, and a portion of Lopezville.

H-E-B Park is a soccer-specific stadium in Edinburg, Texas. It served as the home of Rio Grande Valley FC Toros of the USL Championship, the second level of the US/Canadian professional soccer pyramid. The stadium has two stands with orange seats covered with a roof and a capacity of 9,735. The stadium was originally intended to be complete before the 2016 USL season. Toros played C.F. Monterrey from Mexico on March 22, 2017, to inaugurate their new stadium. The Toros lost their exhibition match against Rayados 3–0 before a sellout crowd.In October 2023, it was announced that UTRGV would play most of their college football home games in the stadium, beginning with their exhibition season in 2024.

Johnny G. Economedes High School (JGHS), also known as Economedes or JEHS, is a public school in unincorporated Hidalgo County, Texas, USA, east of Edinburg. It is part of the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District and is one of the district's four high schools. The school is named for former Edinburg Fire Chief Johnny G. "the Greek" Economedes. Economedes serves sections of eastern and northeastern Edinburg along with several census-designated places: Cesar Chavez, Doolittle, and La Blanca.Expansion to all district high schools in 2010 brought a new performing arts center to JEHS. It is simply called the Performing Arts Center, or PAC.

Valley Christian Heritage School (VCHS) is a private Christian K-12 school in Alamo, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley.It began operations in 1978, and in 1991 received accreditation from the National Christian Schools Association and the Texas Christian Schools Association.
