Las Gallinas Valley

Lucas Valley-Marinwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Marin County, California, United States. It includes the neighborhoods of Lucas Valley and Marinwood. As of the 2020 census, the population was 6,259.

Congregation Rodef Sholom, founded in 1956, is a Reform Jewish Congregation located on the Lonee C. Hoytt Jewish Campus in San Rafael, California. Prior to its establishment, Shabbat services were held at the Marin Jewish Community Center, established in 1946 at Mission and Forbes Street. The congregation met at the center until 1962 when it moved to its current location. The congregation shares a campus with the Osher Marin JCC and the Brandeis Hillel Day School. Rodef Sholom has been affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism since 1957. The congregation receives its name, meaning "pursuers of peace," from a Talmudic quote by Rabbi Hillel: "Be among the disciples of Aaron, loving peace and pursuing peace, loving people and bringing them closer to the Torah."

Opened in 1977 in Marin County, CA, the Marin Computer Center was the world's first public access microcomputer center. The non-profit company was co-created by David Fox (later to become one of Lucasfilm Games' founding members) and Annie Fox an author. MCC (as it was known) initially featured the Atari 2600, an Equinox 100, 9 Processor Technology Sol 20 computers (S-100 bus systems), the Radio Shack Model I and the Commodore PET. In addition to providing computer access to the public it had classes on the programming language BASIC. Later it added Apple II and Atari 800 computers, for a total of about 40 systems. The Foxes left MCC in 1981, turning it over to new management, and later to the teens and young adults who helped run it.

The Dixie Schoolhouse is a historic one-room schoolhouse located in San Rafael, Marin County, Northern California. It was built in 1864, in the Victorian Italianate style.

San Domenico School is the oldest independent, private, coed day and boarding school in California and the closest coed boarding school to San Francisco, California. The school currently enrolls 680 boys and girls in Grades Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. The mascot is a Panther. The school colors are blue and green.

Sleepy Hollow is a census-designated place in Marin County, California, United States. It is located 7 miles (11 km) south of downtown Novato at an elevation of 177 feet (54 m). Its population as of the 2020 census was 2,401.

Terra Linda (Portuguese for "Beautiful Land") is a district of the city of San Rafael, California. It was formerly an unincorporated community within Marin County. It lies at an elevation of 171 feet (52 m).Terra Linda is a residential and light commercial/office community in the Las Gallinas Valley area of Marin County, approximately 14 miles (23 km) north of the Golden Gate Bridge. The housing stock includes about 900 residences built by Joseph Eichler.

Terra Linda High School (also known as TLHS and more commonly known as TL) is a public secondary school located in Terra Linda, San Rafael, California, United States. In 2006, it was named a California Distinguished School. The school is part of the San Rafael City Schools school district. The official school mascot is the Trojan. Residents of the high school district may choose either Terra Linda High or San Rafael High School. The high school district includes San Rafael, Santa Venetia, Lucas Valley-Marinwood, and a portion of Larkspur.

Northgate Mall is a shopping mall located in the Terra Linda neighborhood of San Rafael, California, 15 miles (24 km) north of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's the largest of three shopping centers in San Rafael called Northgate. It was managed by The Macerich Company until 2017 and is now managed by Merlone Geier Partners. It is the only enclosed regional shopping center in Marin County. The mall's anchors are Macy's and Kohl's with a vacant anchor last occupied by Sears. It also contains a Century Theatres multiplex, a food court, and more than 90 specialty stores, services, and restaurants. The original anchor in the corner, now occupied by Macy's, was The Emporium, which opened in 1964. When the rest of the mall opened in 1965, it had an open-air design. The mall was enclosed when it was renovated in 1987. MTR Properties, Inc. was the original owner of the mall. Macerich bought the property in 1985 before selling it to Merlone Geier Partners in 2017. On January 4, 2018, Sears announced that its store at the mall will be closing as part of a plan to close 103 stores nationwide. The store closed in April 2018. Around the same time, plans were announced that would transform the mall into a "town center."On November 14, 2019, Forever 21 announced that the Northgate Mall location would be closing along with 21 other locations in California and 90 locations nationwide. It closed in January 2020.

Rancho Cañada de Herrera was a 6,658-acre (26.94 km2) Mexican land grant in present day Marin County, California given in 1839 by Governor pro tem Manuel Jimeno to Domingo Sais (also spelled Saens or Saez). The grant encompassed present day Fairfax, Sleepy Hollow and a part of San Anselmo.

Rancho San Pedro, Santa Margarita y Las Gallinas was a 21,679-acre (87.73 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Marin County, California given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Timothy Murphy (Timoteo Murphy). Las Gallinas means "the hens" in Spanish. The grant extended from east of Nicasio, California, south-east along the Lucas Valley, California, then along Miller Creek to Las Gallinas and the San Pablo Bay.

Sorich Park is in San Anselmo, California, US. It has trails leading into the surrounding hills and ridge line. The park borders the western part of central San Rafael, California, as well as Sleepy Hollow (part of unincorporated county land). Sorich Park is about 60 acres in size and was acquired by the Town of San Anselmo in 1965. Before, it was a dairy ranch. The park supposedly got its name because the milk produced by the dairy was "so rich" that they made it one word and made it the name.
