The grant extended from east of Nicasio, California, south-east along the Lucas Valley, California, then along Miller Creek to Las Gallinas and the San Pablo Bay.

The Marin Museum of Bicycling is a bicycle history museum in Fairfax, Marin County, California. It displays bicycles and related items from the 19th century to the present day. The museum grand opening celebration was on June 6, 2015.The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, founded in 1988 in Crested Butte, Colorado, relocated to Fairfax, California in 2014 and became part of the Marin Museum of Bicycling.

Fairfax is an incorporated town in Marin County, California, United States. Fairfax is located 3.25 miles (5.2 km) west-northwest of San Rafael, at an elevation of 115 feet (35 m). The population was 7,605 at the 2020 census.

The Bothin Convalescent Hospital was established in 1910 as a place for women and children to convalesce after illness or surgery. The hospital was built by Henry Bothin on a thousand-acre parcel of land he had purchased in 1903 along the Northwestern Pacific Railroad near Fairfax, California. Later, a tuberculosis sanitarium was constructed on the same property. A railroad station named Bothin served the hospitals. When Bothin died in 1923, he left behind a charitable foundation to support these facilities and other non-profit organizations. The convalescent home closed in 1940 and the tuberculosis hospital operated until the 1950s.In 1948 the Marin Girl Scouts Council began using part of the property for summer activities. Scouting activity grew each year until 1959 when the entire property was leased to the Girl Scouts. Known as Camp Bothin, the site is officially named the Henry E. Bothin Youth Camp. There have been numerous claims of ghost citings at the camp, mostly relating to its prior use as a tuberculosis sanitarium

Sorich Park is in San Anselmo, California, US. It has trails leading into the surrounding hills and ridge line. The park borders the western part of central San Rafael, California, as well as Sleepy Hollow (part of unincorporated county land). Sorich Park is about 60 acres in size and was acquired by the Town of San Anselmo in 1965. Before, it was a dairy ranch. The park supposedly got its name because the milk produced by the dairy was "so rich" that they made it one word and made it the name.

Archie Williams High School is a public secondary school located in San Anselmo, California. It is named after a former math and computing teacher Archie Williams, who was also a gold medalist in the 1936 Summer Olympics, a flight instructor with the Tuskegee Airmen, and one of the first African-American meteorologists. It was originally named Sir Francis Drake High School, after Francis Drake. It changed its name in 2021, after the George Floyd protests spurred a worldwide reexamination of place names and monuments connected to racism. The school was established in 1951 as the second high school in the Tamalpais Union High School District. It is located at 1327 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, situated on a 21-acre (85,000 m2) campus bordered by two creeks. The site was formerly known as Cordone Gardens.The graduation rate in 2015 was approximately 99%.
