The Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB) is a Muslim community center located in Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland, consisting of Masjid Al-Rahmah, Al-Rahmah School, and several other services. The society was founded in 1969 by three Muslim physicians and is known for then-President Barack Obama's visit on February 3, 2016. As of 2019, the society serves around 3,000 people.

Johnnycake Town, also called Journeycake Town, is a settlement settled in the 18th century. Currently unnamed, it is located in what is now Catonsville, Maryland.The village was settled by Europeans and was named after its tavern, popular for baking and selling johnnycakes to travelers every morning. It was known for being a stopping place for travelers, where they would rest their horses. In Real stories from Baltimore County history, Isobel Davidson states: About e'ghty years ago, Mr. James Lee kept a tavern on the road now called Johnny Cake Road. It was about one-half mile from the place where the Belmont School now stands. In those days all the region from Baltimore to Frederick was called by this funny name. This tavern was the favorite stopping place of travelers between the above named points. Here they would stop and rest their horses. This picture shows the old well where the travelers watered their horses. It is said that one of the ladies of long ago who served the teamsters and other travelers gave them delicious Johnny cake so often for breakfast that the fame of the inn spread throughout the countryside and they decided to name it Johnny Cake. Although Johnnycake Town is currently unnamed and does not appear on maps, its main road, Johnnycake Road, still exists.

Woodlawn is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland. Per the 2020 census, the population was 39,986. It is home to the headquarters of the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It is bordered by Catonsville on the south, by the Patapsco River and Howard County on the west, by Randallstown and Lochearn to the north, and by the City of Baltimore to the east. Parts of Woodlawn are sometimes informally referred to as Security, Maryland, due to the importance of the SSA's headquarters as well as nearby Security Boulevard (Maryland Route 122) and Security Square Mall. The Lorraine Park Cemetery Gate Lodge and St. Mary's Episcopal Church were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Woodlawn High School (WHS) is a four-year public high school in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The school opened in the fall of 1961. Prior to that, students in the area attended Catonsville, Milford Mill, or Franklin High Schools. In the fall of 2017, Woodlawn offered an Early College Program to help students prepare for university education. There are over 40 various extracurriculars, sports, programs, and activities for students.

WPOC (93.1 FM) is a commercial radio station in Baltimore, Maryland. It airs a country music radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The studios and offices are at The Rotunda Shopping Center, on West 40th Street, in Baltimore. The transmitter, with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 16,000 watts, is off North Rolling Road in Catonsville, Maryland. It has a height above average terrain (HAAT) of 264 meters (886 feet), providing WPOC with a wide coverage area from Washington, D.C. to the Maryland-Pennsylvania state line, and from Annapolis to Frederick. It broadcasts using HD Radio technology. Its HD2 digital subchannel formerly carried "24/7 Comedy Legends", a comedy format.

Marshalee Plantation, sometimes spelled as "Marshallee" or referred to as "Lyndwood" or "Markham", was a plantation located in Elkridge, Maryland in Howard County, Maryland, United States. The plantation was the home of Rebecca Snowden and Confederate Col. Charles Marshall, the aide-de-camp to Robert E. Lee. Marshall drafted Lee's Farewell Address. Rebecca was the daughter of Col Thomas Snowden of Montpelier

Windsor Mill Road is a road that runs through parts of Baltimore, Maryland and its western suburb Woodlawn. The road starts as a one-way street named Edgewood Street, then makes a slight left corner and becomes Windsor Mill Road. The road, which is approximately 7½ miles in length, runs parallel to nearby Liberty Road and Security Boulevard, and is often used as an alternative to these routes. Though Windsor Mill Road has no interchange with the Baltimore Beltway, it crosses over the highway, and this point is frequently mentioned in traffic reports. Windsor Mill Road once continued east to near the intersection of Pennsylvania and Fremont Avenues; a short piece survives as School Street. The road is an old one, existing prior to the founding of Baltimore in 1729.Currently, Windsor Mill Road begins near Walbrook Junction in West Baltimore as a one-way street for several blocks, but becomes a larger two-way road at Gwynns Falls Parkway and crosses under a large arch bridge carrying Clifton Avenue. It then proceeds as a winding road, passing two city parks: Gwynns Falls Park and Leakin Park. After passing the two parks, Windsor Mill Road runs mostly straight with few curves. The road is lined mostly with single-family houses, apartments, and small shops and shopping centers throughout its duration. Then passing Forest Park Avenue, it crosses the Baltimore County line between Kernan and Forest Park Avenues in the Woodlawn area, run by motorists in the area. The main part of Windsor Mill Road ends at Old Court Road. There is no traffic light at this intersection. However, Windsor Mill Road continues for two more blocks beyond Old Court as a side street that is Inwood Road.

Woodlawn-Rockdale-Milford Mills was a Census-designated place in Baltimore County during the 1960 United States Census, which consists of the communities of Milford Mill, Rockdale and Woodlawn. The population in 1960 was 19,254.The census area's name was reorganized as "Woodlawn-Woodmoor" during the 1970 Census, when the population recorded was 28,811. Milford Mill did not return separately by census enumerators until 1980. Woodlawn did not return separately by census enumerators until 1980 under the name "Security". Rockdale became part of Milford Mill's census area.

Linwood is a historic home located at Ellicott City, Howard County, Maryland, United States. The seventeen room brick house was built by slave labor in the early 1800s. Portions of the farm were subdivided into several 3-5 acre lots in the late 1800s, with strict setbacks and provisions to maintain the neighborhood, including banning stores and outbuildings. Keeping the neighborhood character protected is still an issue in present times, with development proposals in 2015.The Linwood Center was opened in 1955 by Jeanne M. Simmons as the Linwood Center for Disturbed Children, with 14 day care students and 10 residents. Children stayed for an average of three years of treatment. In 2012 the center built a $6.5 million expansion to increase autism services to 70 children. The Howard County School System reduced its autism expenses by outsourcing to Linwood with the expansion, contributing $925,000 to complete the project.

Lorraine Park Cemetery is a cemetery located in Baltimore, Maryland. It rests on about 60 acres (240,000 m2) of land. Formerly known as Lorraine Farm, the exact date of its founding is not entirely known - however, it may have been founded as early as 1872. Founded by Reverend William Prescott Webb, most of its acreage was sold to the Lorraine Cemetery Company in 1884. The first interment was a lady named Margaret Rand, in 1883 and by 1900, it had over 700 interments. The cemetery served as the preferred resting place for the area's Chinese community for many years. At one point the cemetery went bankrupt and was purchased by Charles Blackburn Sims. Upon his purchasing the cemetery, it began to take on its present appearance. Construction on the cemetery's mausoleum began in the late 1920s and ended in 1973.The cemetery contains three British war graves of World War II - a Royal Navy Seaman, a Merchant Navy Master, and a Royal Artillery Gunner.On September 12, 1976, the body of an unidentified young woman was found face first wrapped in a sheet and a seed bag and 2 bandanas with eye and mouth holes cut in them over her face. She had been raped, strangled and bound then thrown into the cemetery, or killed in a different location and then dumped there. The case was featured on America's Most Wanted, and although the murder remains unsolved, DNA evidence proved in September 2021 that she was Margaret Fetterolf, a 16-year old girl who had run away from home in the summer of 1975.

St. Mary's Episcopal Church, also known as the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, is an historic rectangular-shaped Carpenter Gothic style Episcopal church located at 5610 Dogwood Road in Woodlawn, Baltimore County, Maryland. Designed by the Baltimore architectural firm of Dixon and Carson, it was built in 1873. Its steeply pitched gable roof, board and batten siding, lancet windows and arched side entry way are all typical features of Carpenter Gothic churches.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
