Winters Lane Historic District is a national historic district at Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is a historically African-American residential community which developed between 1867 and the mid-1940s. Winters Lane is located between Frederick Road and the Baltimore National Pike. It is composed mainly of single-family dwellings augmented by a few commercial, social, or religious resources. The district contains 155 properties, including 141 residential properties, two former schools, three commercial buildings, three social clubs, and five churches or church-related buildings.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Johnnycake Town, also called Journeycake Town, is a settlement settled in the 18th century. Currently unnamed, it is located in what is now Catonsville, Maryland.The village was settled by Europeans and was named after its tavern, popular for baking and selling johnnycakes to travelers every morning. It was known for being a stopping place for travelers, where they would rest their horses. In Real stories from Baltimore County history, Isobel Davidson states: About e'ghty years ago, Mr. James Lee kept a tavern on the road now called Johnny Cake Road. It was about one-half mile from the place where the Belmont School now stands. In those days all the region from Baltimore to Frederick was called by this funny name. This tavern was the favorite stopping place of travelers between the above named points. Here they would stop and rest their horses. This picture shows the old well where the travelers watered their horses. It is said that one of the ladies of long ago who served the teamsters and other travelers gave them delicious Johnny cake so often for breakfast that the fame of the inn spread throughout the countryside and they decided to name it Johnny Cake. Although Johnnycake Town is currently unnamed and does not appear on maps, its main road, Johnnycake Road, still exists.

Old Catonsville Historic District is a national historic district in Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It was laid out with the construction of the electric railway and is overwhelmingly residential, with three churches (one with a school), a modern public library, and an Art Deco water tower. Architectural styles in the district range from mid- to late-19th century vernacular "I-houses" to late-19th and early-20th century styles such as Queen Anne, Bungalow, Colonial Revival, Dutch Colonial, Tudor Revival, and Craftsman. A large number of these dwellings have freestanding garages, typically finished in a like manner to their houses.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

The Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB) is a Muslim community center located in Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland, consisting of Masjid Al-Rahmah, Al-Rahmah School, and several other services. The society was founded in 1969 by three Muslim physicians and is known for then-President Barack Obama's visit on February 3, 2016. As of 2019, the society serves around 3,000 people.

Catonsville () is a census-designated place (CDP) in Baltimore County, Maryland. The population was 44,701 at the 2020 US Census. The community is a streetcar suburb of Baltimore along the city's western border. The town is known for its proximity to the Patapsco River and Patapsco Valley State Park, making it a regional mountain biking hub. The town is also notable as a local hotbed of music, earning it the official nickname of "Music City, Maryland." Catonsville contains the majority of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), a major public research university with close to 14,000 students.

Summit is a historic home located in Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland. It a large brick house, once part of a country estate owned by James Albert Gary. It features a three-story Italianate tower and large wing extending to the rear. The main façade is three stories and five bays wide, with the tower located on the east side. A one-story porch with square columns and railings runs across the full façade. The mansion was built originally as a summer home and later converted to apartments after its sale to the Summit Park Company in 1919.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Castle Thunder was a house constructed on Frederick Road in 1787. It belonged to Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last surviving signer of the United States Declaration of Independence. Carroll gave the home to his daughter, Mary Carroll, and her husband, Richard Caton, after they got married at Annapolis on November 25, 1787. The home stood from 1787 to 1907. The house was used as an inn for travelers. Prior to the American Civil War, a private school was conducted at the house by Carrie Coale and her daughter. In 1907, the house was bought by former Maryland senator John Hubner and torn down to make room for the residence of Arthur C. Montell, a cashier of the First National Bank of Catonsville.The Catonsville branch of the Baltimore County Public Library was later built at the house's location, which currently stands.A commemorative plaque was built at the house's location in front of the library in 1966. The plaque went missing in July 2018 and was found, damaged, by the Maryland State Highway Administration. Repairs for the sign were estimated to be $350.

Security Square Mall is a mall in Woodlawn, Baltimore County, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore, in the United States. The mall features over 100 stores and restaurants, as well as a food court. One section of the mall, Grand Village Plaza (formerly JCPenney), previously included Korean shops and restaurants; however, most of these establishments had closed by 2010. Security Square Mall is located adjacent to the North American School of Trades. The anchor stores are Bayit Furniture, Set the Captives Free Outreach Center, Burlington, and Macy's. There is 1 vacant anchor store that was once Sears.

Old Catonsville High School, also known as St. Mark's School, is a historic school building located at Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland. It is a masonry schoolhouse which consists of a one-story, single bay structure (built in 1878) and a three-story, four bay addition (built in 1898). In 1885 the school was designated a high school and in 1910 the property was sold to the Catholic Church.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Woodlawn is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland. Per the 2020 census, the population was 39,986. It is home to the headquarters of the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It is bordered by Catonsville on the south, by the Patapsco River and Howard County on the west, by Randallstown and Lochearn to the north, and by the City of Baltimore to the east. Parts of Woodlawn are sometimes informally referred to as Security, Maryland, due to the importance of the SSA's headquarters as well as nearby Security Boulevard (Maryland Route 122) and Security Square Mall. The Lorraine Park Cemetery Gate Lodge and St. Mary's Episcopal Church were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Old Salem Church and Cemetery is a historic Lutheran Church and adjacent cemetery located at Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland. The main part of the 1849 Gothic Revival church building is a three bay, irregular stone structure approximately 28 feet wide and 42 feet long. It features a gable roof, a short boxy steeple, an entrance porch at the front and an apse at the rear. The interior features a gallery and organ loft has the original tracker organ, which is still hand pumped by a wooden lever on the north side of the case. From early on, the ground to the south of the church was laid out as a cemetery. The church was founded by German Lutheran immigrants.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
