Avalon State Park is a Florida State Park, located on North Hutchinson Island, 4 miles north of Fort Pierce Inlet State Park, along A1A.

Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute (HBOI, FAU Harbor Branch) is a non-profit oceanographic institution operated by Florida Atlantic University in Fort Pierce, Florida, United States. Founded in 1971 as non-profit research organization, the institution was transferred to FAU in 2007.

Viking is an unincorporated community in St. Lucie County, Florida, United States. Viking is located along U.S. Route 1, 7 miles (11 km) north-northwest of Fort Pierce. The town was founded by a Norwegian immigrants Jens (1858-1944) and Agathe Helseth and was so named for a large community of Scandinavians. At one time, there was a school and a post office in addition to the Helseth pineapple farm. The Helseth estate was donated to the State of Florida.

South Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) on North Hutchinson Island in Indian River County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,501 at the 2010 census. It is ranked tenth in Florida locations by per capita income as of 2010. South Beach is part of the Sebastian–Vero Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The transmitter is on Old Dixie Highway in Lakewood Park, Florida, near U.S. Route 1.

The Hallstrom House (also known as the Hallstrom Farmstead) is a historic house in Vero Beach, Florida. It is located at 1723 Southwest Old Dixie Highway.

Urca de Lima is a Spanish shipwreck (which sank in 1715) near Fort Pierce, Florida, United States. She was part of the 1715 Treasure Fleet, one of the numerous Spanish treasure fleets sailing between Spain and its colonies in the Americas. The wreck is located north of Fort Pierce Inlet, 200 yards off the shore from Jack Island Park. It became the first Florida Underwater Archaeological Preserve when dedicated in 1987. This was followed on May 31, 2001 with its addition to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

First settled circa 1883, Oslo is an unincorporated community in southeastern Indian River County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Sebastian–Vero Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town of Oslo, as it was once called, was first established by some of Indian River County's first pioneers, which included the Helseth, Gifford, and Hallstrom families. The area was given the name Oslo by the Helseth family.

The Town of St. Lucie Village is a town in St. Lucie County, Florida, United States. The population was 590 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Port St. Lucie Metropolitan Statistical Area. St. Lucie Village was incorporated in 1961 and includes the St. Lucie Village Historic District.

The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum, also known as the Navy SEAL Museum, is located in St. Lucie County, just outside Fort Pierce, Florida. It houses exhibits to inform and educate on the role of Navy Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT) and Sea, Air, Land (SEAL) teams. The museum also preserves the history of the SEALs (the original Navy frogmen first trained outside of Fort Pierce). The idea of the museum originated in the home of Albert Stankie, where he and other former UDT Frogmen gathered personal artifacts and experiences from their service in World War II. They worked to procure the defunct Ft. Pierce Treasure Museum building and site. The Navy SEAL Museum sits on public land owned by Florida. This evolved into a dedicated facility, which opened in 1985, and was recognized as a National Museum by an act of Congress signed into law February 7, 2008.

The Spanish River is a former fresh-water stream which once flowed through Boca Raton, Florida. It was originally known as "Boca Raton's Lagoon" but settlers renamed it the "Old Spanish River." It has been channeled into the Intracoastal Waterway. People joke that "no one in town can find it" but in fact the stream bed is still visible in Spanish River Park. There are several establishments in the area that bear the name of the once-flowing river, including a high school, a church, and a library.
