Myakka River State Park is a Florida State Park, that is located nine miles (14 km) east of Interstate 75 in Sarasota County and a portion of southeastern Manatee County on the Atlantic coastal plain. This state park consists of 37,000 acres (150 km2), making it one of the state's largest parks. It is also one of the oldest parks in the state. It was delineated in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. A small portion (1,920 acres or 7.8 km2) of the park was the gift of the family of Bertha Palmer to the state. The park is named after the Myakka River.

WLSS

WLSS (930 kHz) is a commercial radio station in Sarasota, Florida. It is owned by Salem Communications and airs a talk radio format. It is the oldest and most powerful AM station in the Sarasota-Bradenton radio market. The studios are on West Laurel Street in Sarasota. WLSS is a Class B AM station. By day, it is powered at 5,000 watts. But at night, to protect other stations on 930 AM, it reduces power to 3,000 watts. It uses a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is on Lorraine Road in the Lakewood Ranch section of Sarasota. Programming is also heard on 99-watt FM translator W229BR at 93.7 MHz in Bayshore Gardens.

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital (previously Doctors Hospital of Sarasota) is a 155-bed private health care facility located in Sarasota County, Florida. The hospital was founded in 1967 and is a part of the HCA Healthcare hospital system. In March 2018, Doctors Hospital opened a freestanding emergency room in nearby Manatee County, Florida named Doctors Hospital of Sarasota ER in Lakewood Ranch. The facility is located on State Road 70, east of I-75. The hospital was renamed to its current name in June 2022.

Dr. C. B. Wilson House

The Dr. C. B. Wilson House (also known as the Office of Fuller, Breslau, and Stinnett Attorneys) is a historic home in Sarasota, Florida. On March 22, 1984, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It originally was located at 235 South Orange Avenue. In 2004, the house was planned to be demolished for the construction of a bank on the site. Funds were raised, and the house was moved to 4012 Honore Avenue inside of Urfer Family Park. Today, the house is open for self-guided tours to the public.
