The hospital was founded in 1967 and is a part of the HCA Healthcare hospital system. In March 2018, Doctors Hospital opened a freestanding emergency room in nearby Manatee County, Florida named Doctors Hospital of Sarasota ER in Lakewood Ranch. The facility is located on State Road 70, east of I-75. The hospital was renamed to its current name in June 2022.

The Bee Ridge Woman's Club is a historic woman's club in Sarasota, Florida, United States. The club was founded in 1915 as the Get-Together-Club and took its name as Bee Ridge Woman's club in 1917. In 1922 construction began on a clubhouse and the building was completed in 1923. It is located at 4919 Andrew Avenue. On February 10, 1995, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

It is located at 4380 Fruitville Road. It opened with classrooms (i.e. math), a library, a common room, restrooms, a chapel, gym, a cafeteria, and a playground, for K-5 during playtime and a playing field for grades 6–8 during playtime (aka breaktime)/break.

SNN operates in conjunction with the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, and is headquartered in downtown Sarasota. The station's transmitter is located on Fruitville Road east of the city.
