St Catherine's Church, Over Alderley

Birtles Hall is a country house in the parish of Over Alderley, Cheshire, England. It was built in about 1819 for the West Indies merchant Robert Hibbert. The interior of the house was badly damaged by fire in 1938, and it was reconstructed by the Arts and Crafts architect James Henry Sellers. The exterior is constructed in buff ashlar sandstone. The roofs are of Welsh slate, and there are three brick chimneys. The house is in two storeys, with a south front of five bays. Along the top of the south front is a plain frieze and a cornice supporting a balustrade. Protruding from the central bay of the lower storey is a porch with Ionic columns and a balustrade. Figueirdo and Treuherz describe the style as "severe Neoclassical". The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Also listed Grade II are terrace walls in front of the house, and the stable block.

Henbury Hall is a country house about 1 mile (1.6 km) southwest of the village of Henbury in Cheshire, England. The present house was built during the 1980s in New Classical style, its design being based on Andrea Palladio's Villa Rotonda.

Whirley Hall is a country house standing to the north of the village of Henbury, Cheshire, England. The house dates from about 1670. Additions and alterations were made during the 18th century and in the 1950s, when the house was restored and wings were added at the sides. The house is constructed in brick with buff sandstone dressings, and has a Kerridge stone-slate roof with stone ridges. It has three storeys and symmetrical five-bay front. Between the storeys, and above the top storey, are brick bands. The lower two storeys contain 20th-century wooden-framed mullioned and transomed windows. In the top storey are two-light casement windows. Above these are two shaped gables, each surmounted by an obelisk finial, and containing an elliptical window. There are single-storey, two-bay extensions on each side of the house. In the roof of the house is a stone inscribed with the date 1599, which is considered to have been removed from an earlier timber-framed house. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The gate pier in front of the house is a Grade II listed building.

Hare Hill Hall is a country house and a garden in the parish of Over Alderley, Cheshire, England. The house and grounds are privately owned, and the separate nearby garden is in the care of the National Trust.

The Alderley Edge Mines are located on the escarpment in Alderley Edge, Cheshire. Archaeological evidence indicates that copper mining took place here during Roman times and the Bronze Age, and written records show that mining continued here from the 1690s up to the 1920s. The site was the location of the Alderley Edge Landscape Project and the Pot Shaft Hoard. Many of the mines are owned by the National Trust. The Derbyshire Caving Club have leased the access rights, and they continue to explore and search for areas of mining that have been closed for centuries.

Numerous scientists from the early 19th century up to the present day have studied the area and it is a popular field site for universities around the UK. The sandstones also provide important insights into the nature of continental natural gas and petroleum reservoirs.

Alderley was one of the eight ancient parishes of the Macclesfield Hundred of Cheshire, England. It included the following townships: Over Alderley Nether Alderley Great WarfordUnder the Poor Law Amendment Act 1886 these townships became civil parishes in their own right. The three parishes became part of Macclesfield Rural District in 1894. On the abolition of the rural district in 1974 they became part of the new Macclesfield district, a non-metropolitan district with borough status. The Borough of Macclesfield was abolished on 1 April 2009 and the parishes were transferred to the new Cheshire East unitary authority.

Henbury is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. According to the 2001 census, the entire civil parish had a population of 594. The village is 3.8 miles (6.1 km) west of Macclesfield on the A537. Henbury became a civil parish in 1845. It stands adjacent to the mill pond of Nether Alderley Mill, a loop of which acts as a moat. The hall is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.It is constructed partly in brick, and partly in timber framing, and represents an addition to the original hall, which was lost in a fire.

Nether Alderley Mill is a 16th-century watermill located in Congleton Road (the A34), to the south of the village of Nether Alderley, Cheshire, England. It is owned by the National Trust, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It is a unique example of a triple overshot waterwheel system, two of which are in working order. It is one of only four virtually complete corn mills in Cheshire.
