Alderley Old Hall

Nether Alderley Mill is a 16th-century watermill located in Congleton Road (the A34), to the south of the village of Nether Alderley, Cheshire, England. It is owned by the National Trust, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It is a unique example of a triple overshot waterwheel system, two of which are in working order. It is one of only four virtually complete corn mills in Cheshire.

Nether Alderley is a village and civil parish in Cheshire, England, on the A34 a mile and a half south of Alderley Edge. The civil parish includes the hamlets of Monk's Heath and Soss Moss. At Monk's Heath crossroads, the A34 crosses the A537. The AstraZeneca research laboratories at Alderley Park house 260 cancer research scientists.At the 2011 census, the population was 665.

Alderley was one of the eight ancient parishes of the Macclesfield Hundred of Cheshire, England. It included the following townships: Over Alderley Nether Alderley Great WarfordUnder the Poor Law Amendment Act 1886 these townships became civil parishes in their own right. The three parishes became part of Macclesfield Rural District in 1894. On the abolition of the rural district in 1974 they became part of the new Macclesfield district, a non-metropolitan district with borough status. The Borough of Macclesfield was abolished on 1 April 2009 and the parishes were transferred to the new Cheshire East unitary authority.

St Mary's Church is an Anglican church at the end of a lane to the south of the village of Nether Alderley, Cheshire, England. It dates from the 14th century, with later additions and a major restoration in the late-19th century. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.The church was built in the Gothic style, and has historically been associated with the Stanley family of Alderley. Its major features include a fine tower, the Stanley pew which is entered by an outside staircase, a 14th-century font, the western gallery, and monuments to the Lords Stanley of Alderley. The grounds contain a 17th-century former schoolhouse, now used as a parish hall, a medieval church cross, and the Stanley Mausoleum, which dates from 1909. An ancient yew tree stands in the churchyard. St Mary's is an active parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield, and the deanery of Knutsford. Its benefice is combined with that of St Catherine's, Birtles.

Gatley Green is a hamlet in the civil parish of Nether Alderley in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England.

Heawood Hall is a country house, now divided into three houses, southwest of the village of Nether Alderley, Cheshire, England. It originated in the late 17th century; a tall wing was added in the 18th century. Further alterations were made in 1899, and again in the 20th century. It is constructed in red brick with buff sandstone dressings, and is roofed with Welsh slate. Figueirdo and Treuherz describe it as "a complicated and disjointed-looking house". The three houses are named Heawood Chase, Heawood Hall and Heawood House. The building as a whole is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.The construction of the Alderley Edge bypass in 2010 cut off Heawood Hall from its former entry lodge on the (old) A34. Heawood Hall now has a new entry drive from the Frog Lane roundabout at the south end of the Alderley Edge bypass.Between 2001 and 2005 one of the houses in the complex, consisting of two conjoined, renovated barns, was owned by footballer and UNICEF ambassador David Beckham.

Chorley Old Hall is a moated manor house on the B5359 road to the southwest of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, England. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and the moated site is a scheduled monument. It is the oldest inhabited country house in Cheshire and consists of two ranges, one medieval (built around 1330) and the other Elizabethan (built in the mid-16th century).

Alderley Edge is a village and civil parish in Cheshire, England. In 2011, it had a population of 4,780. Alderley Edge is 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Macclesfield and 12 miles (19 km) south of Manchester, at the base of a steep and thickly wooded sandstone escarpment, Alderley Edge, which is the area's chief topographical feature and overlooks the Cheshire Plain. Alderley Edge is known for its affluence and expensive houses, falling inside Cheshire's Golden Triangle. Alderley Edge has a selection of cafes and designer shops and has attracted numerous Premier League footballers, actors and multi-millionaire businesspeople. It is one of the most expensive and sought-after places to live in the UK outside London.

Alderley Edge is a former Urban District in Cheshire, based in the village of Alderley Edge. It was created in 1894 and abolished in 1974 when it was incorporated into the Borough of Macclesfield, which was itself abolished in 2009. Moss Lane is a cricket ground in Moss Lane, Alderley Edge, Cheshire. The ground is surrounded on all four sides by residential housing. The ground is used by Alderley Edge Cricket Club. It is also a venue for tennis, squash and field hockey.
