The Staten Island boat graveyard is a marine scrapyard located in the Arthur Kill in Rossville, near the Fresh Kills Landfill, on the West Shore of Staten Island, New York City. It is known by many other names including the Witte Marine Scrap Yard, the Arthur Kill Boat Yard, and the Tugboat Graveyard. Its official name as of 2014 is the Donjon Iron and Metal Scrap Processing Facility.

Arthur Kill Correctional Facility was a medium security correctional facility on Arthur Kill Road in Charleston, Staten Island, New York City. It operated from 1976 to 2011, run by what was then the New York State Department of Correctional Services. The prison had a capacity of 931 male inmates. The prison property bordered Arthur Kill, a waterway that separates Staten Island from New Jersey. The 260-acre (1.1 km2) Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve is located just south of the prison site. Part of its site contains buried truck trailers and is potentially contaminated; the decision was made to "deal" with the abandoned trailers' contents in this way.

Arthur Kill Road is a major northeast-southwest artery along the South-West Shore of the New York City borough of Staten Island. It is 8.54 miles (13.74 km) long, and runs through the neighborhoods of Tottenville, Richmond Valley, Charleston, Rossville, Woodrow, Huguenot, Arden Heights, Annadale, Eltingville, Greenridge, Great Kills, and Richmondtown. Arthur Kill Road is named for the waterway to its west, the Arthur Kill, which separates Staten Island from Union County and Middlesex County, New Jersey. It was known by other names in the 19th century, including Fresh Kills Road, Shore Road and Riverside Avenue. Landmarks include the Blazing Star Burial Ground, the Arthur Kill Correctional Facility, the unused LNG tanks east of Chemical Lane, the Kreischer House as well as the Outerbridge Crossing which Arthur Kill Road passes underneath.

Rossville is a neighborhood of Staten Island, New York, on the island's South Shore. It is located to the north of Woodrow, to the west of Arden Heights, and to the south and east of the Arthur Kill. Rossville is located within Staten Island Community Board 3.

The Sandy Ground Historical Museum, located within the Sandy Ground community of Rossville in the borough of Staten Island, is dedicated to the oldest continuously inhabited free black settlement in the United States. The museum is home to the largest documentary collection of Staten Island's African-American culture and history and it may also be home to the only intact 18th -century African cemetery in America. As of February 2023, it is temporarily closed due to maintenance and operational issues The museum is operated by the Sandy Ground Historical Society and its annual festival is a celebration of black history, culture and freedom. The museum is also chartered by the New York State Department of Education to bring education and awareness of Sandy Ground to adults and children alike through guided tours, exhibits, interactive activities including arts and crafts, and lectures. Sandy Ground reaches about 10,000 people a year in these education initiatives (about 4,000 children and about 6,000 adults.) The museum also preserves artifacts from the early years of the town such as art, quilts, letters, photographs, film and rare books.

The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, also known as the Hudson River Walkway, is a promenade along the Hudson Waterfront in New Jersey. The ongoing and incomplete project located on Kill van Kull and the western shore of Upper New York Bay and the Hudson River was implemented as part of a New Jersey state-mandated master plan to connect the municipalities from the Bayonne Bridge to the George Washington Bridge with an urban linear park and provide contiguous unhindered access to the water's edge. There is no projected date for its completion, though large segments have been built or incorporated into it since its inception. The southern end in Bayonne may eventually connect to the Hackensack RiverWalk, another proposed walkway along Newark Bay and Hackensack River on the west side of the Hudson County peninsula, and form part of a proposed Harbor Ring around the harbor. Its northern end is in Palisades Interstate Park, allowing users to continue along the river bank and alpine paths to the New Jersey/New York state line and beyond. (A connection to the Long Path, a 330-mile (530 km) hiking trail with terminus near Albany, is feasible.) As of 2007, eleven miles (18 km) of walkway have been completed, with an additional five miles (8 km) designated HRWW along Broadway in Bayonne. A part of the East Coast Greenway, or ECG, a project to create a nearly 3000-mile (4828 km) urban path linking the major cities along the Atlantic coast runs concurrent with the HRWW.In 2013 the walkway showed signs of age. Some of the pilings on which it is built succumbed to marine worms and effects of Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey, which undermined bedding.

The John A. Lynch was a ferryboat built in 1925 in Mariners Harbor, Staten Island. It was named after NJ politician John A. Lynch, Sr. by NYC Mayor Hylan as were 15 other ferryboats built at the same time. It was renamed first as the Harlam, then the Major General William H. Hart in 1940 when it was sold to the Army and assigned to Governors Island. In 1968 it was donated to the South Street Seaport Museum where it was used as a school ship until 1990. It was traded to Captain's Cove Seaport, in Bridgeport Connecticut in exchange for docking proposed for the H.M.S. Rose at South Street for the 1992 quincentennial of Christopher Columbus' 1492 expedition. It was sold in about 2000 and was to be docked in New Jersey, but is currently half sunk and decaying at Port Reading, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 7, 1984.

Staten Island Pavilion is a 3,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Staten Island, New York. It hosts various local concerts and sporting events for the area and was the home arena for the Staten Island Xtreme of the National Indoor Football League in 2004.

Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve is 265-acre (1.07 km2) state park located near the southwestern shore of Staten Island, New York. It is the only state park located on Staten Island.

Woodrow Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church at 1109 Woodrow Road in Woodrow, Staten Island, New York. It was built in 1842 and is a wood-frame, clapboard-sided, temple-form Greek Revival style building. It features a portico with four Doric order columns supporting a plain entablature and unadorned pediment. Above the portico is a three-stage, open bell tower and spire in a vernacular Italianate style added in 1876. Also on the property is a two-story clapboard house built about 1850 and expanded in 1860–61.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Chrome is an unincorporated community located within Carteret in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The neighborhood's main street was once a bustling shopping district. The Chemical Coast rail line passes through the area.

Bloomingdale Park is a 138-acre (56 ha) park on the South Shore of Staten Island. It is located in the Prince's Bay neighborhood, and is bounded on the north by Ramona Avenue, on the west by Bloomingdale Road, on the east by Lenevar Avenue, and on the south by Drumgoole Road West and the Korean War Veterans Parkway. It is nearly bisected by Maguire Avenue, but the avenue's two spurs into the park from the north and south do not meet in the middle. Beginning in February 2003 15 acres (6.1 ha) of park were renovated and upgraded with the addition of sports fields, walking and biking paths, a playground and rest center at the corner of Ramona and Lenevar Avenues which serves residents in the western portion of Woodrow. On the corner of Maguire Avenue and Drumgoole Road West, there is also a small pond habitat which was made accessible by a footpath. All the recent renovations took place to east of Maguire Avenue, and west of there remains untouched woodlands. Bloomingdale Park was also the name of a public park in Manhattan in the 1800s. It was located in the Kips Bay neighborhood, at 31st Street and First Avenue, on land now occupied by the New York University Medical Center (close to 40.7419°N 73.9748°W / 40.7419; -73.9748). It was on that site that the first international cricket match was held, between teams representing the United States and Canada, in the early fall of 1844.
